A great place for smoothies and drinks. I always get the golden almond bowl with strawberries, almond butter and blueberries. Such an amazing signature bowl that you can take outside and people watch along hollywood blvd. It's the most expensive one but probably the best tasting IMO. The ingredients are high quality. Very disappointing experience at the Oakberry Hollywood location. When I walked in, the employee immediately spoke to me in a rude tone while helping another customer. I asked to see the different sizes for an acai bowl, and instead of helping, she ignored me at first and then responded with attitude saying, "the sizes are right here, can't you see?" After I chose a size, her attitude continued, and when I responded with frustration, she accused me of being rude, refused to serve me, and told me to leave the store, even threatening to call security. I was never aggressive or disrespectful to the point of being denied service. This felt very unprofessional and unfair. I hope management addresses this because no customer should be treated this way. read more

Honestly, after driving from the Bay Area to LA in a day, I was very dehydrated. Then walking around Hollywood I really wanted something to drink! We came across this cute little spot in the middle of a mall area and I got a mango Matcha, which sounded like it would hit the spot. The lady gave me the drink, and honestly, even though I was dehydrated and dying of thirst, the drink did not taste very good at all. I'm kind of picky when it comes to Matcha as well as the freshness of mango, but it just tasted very bland. Plus, I had horrible cottonmouth from the drive so maybe it just wasn't quenching my thirst the right way?! I guess it was a liquid for my body, but it really didn't taste that good. I don't think I will go back to this particular place again, but there are solubles looked good so maybe if I did, I would get one of their açai bowls instead of their Matcha lattes with almond milk. read more

Early Thursday afternoon, the sky was overcast, and a sudden chill would sweep through every now and again. Great time for an açaí bowl then, no? As part of the TCM Classic Film Festival, this was one of the restaurants available for staff. The man at the counter recommended the Golden Almonds as something that'd be satiating. Three folks were behind the counter waiting with bated breath on whether I'd purchase something. Why the heck not, I thought. He also recommended a box of Peanut Butter Bites, which he mentioned came from his hometown of Brazil. We also ended up chatting about the festival and the fact that their business was fairly new. The açaí bowl came in a 24 oz cup size called The Oak. Beautifully and carefully crafted, the creation was every bit as refreshing and satisfying I'd hope. In addition to the açaí, there was collagen, almond butter, almonds, strawberries and blueberries. Then there were the peanut butter bites which tasted smooth and mildly sweet. The food and service were definitely exceptional and filling, though the total price was higher than what I would usually spend at about $22. Still, come summertime and I wouldn't mind another cup myself. read more

Was craving an Açaí bowl and I was in the are so I decided to try out Oakberry Açaí. Their Acai was delicious. I loved the fact that I could customize it and add what I wanted. The service was fast and they have both a cashier and a tablet where you can order from. This açaí hit the spot on a hot spring day. Had a pretty poor experience here... Got an açaí bowl with my friend, and we mentioned that we wanted 2 cups to split it. We decided to get the make your own which comes with unlimited toppings. I asked if she could put the peanut butter on the side, and the cashier responded pretty rudely that if we "wanted so much", we should just buy two bowls. Then, when they forgot to give us our second cup, she specifically told the other employee to give us a paper cup because we didn't pay for one. Whoever the female cashier was made our experience pretty bad - for $15 a bowl, it isn't a crazy request to ask for one topping on the side of our bowl rather than in it! Also, we had already asked for the second cup and could've paid at the beginning, but instead she chose not to charge us for it and gave us a paper bowl that got messy with the açaí. Also, the açaí bowl itself was already pretty melted. Overall, could've been a better experience if the cashier had been nicer. read more
