The fish tasted fresh, and I liked that they offered a wider variety of toppings than my usual poke spots. It was nice having a few more options to customize my bowl and try something a little different. The portions did seem a bit smaller than other poke places, which made it feel a little pricey for what you get. That said, the quality was solid and everything tasted fresh. One bonus is that they accept InKind, which made it an even better value. Overall it was pretty good and I wouldn't mind eating it again if I was ever around here or at another location. read more

I've been to this location on Larchmont several times and have only had positive experiences. Parking can be hit or miss without a dedicated lot & being located on the very popular Larchmont Street! However there are parking spots everywhere so if you time things right, you'll be awarded with parking. Ingredients have always been fresh here and the bowls are tasty. The fish was a bit warm, not as cold as I would've liked for it to be but I think that's because the rice might've brought the temperature of the ingredients up. I came here for the Fallout promotion. I was thoroughly impressed, while the line was long it moved quickly. The poke was amazing and the service was good despite the chaos of the promotion. Totally recommend the spicy tuna poke bowl, big portions at a fair price. They do have sitting and fancy infused free water inside and some seating outside. Sweetfin seems to be the predominate poke spot around here. I've never seen so many healthy options for a poke bowl. Given that a poke bowl on it's own is pretty healthy that's quite a feat. There were a lot of takeout orders when I walked in and placed my order. I liked my bowl. However, I should not have gotten the sun-dried tomatoes (my bad!) I didn't like them so I picked them all out and when they were all piled aside, I was aghast to find out about a third of my bowl was all sun-dried tomatoes, even though I had about 10 other additions. They definitely are not fair with their more popular toppings, it seems. Overall, it was a pretty good poke bowl. I probably will be back just because it's the closest one to me and I enjoyed my bowl besides my bad choice in toppings. read more

My friend and I were exploring LA and had a craving for poke! I've never been to Sweetfin and I wanted to give it a try. The staff were very patient and helpful with my order since it was my first time. I had asked a couple of questions regarding the ingredients and what certain toppings were. They were all knowledgeable and super sweet! There was also outdoor seating available for us to sit outside. The outdoor seating is on the sidewalk but had light foot traffic. I was fairly comfortable eating outside. They also provide disinfectant wipes for you to wipe down the seats and tables for safety precautions. Very nice! As for my first time trying the poke - it was great! I got a few toppings with all salmon and half kale and half forbidden rice. The fish was fresh and tasty. And the toppings were perfectly crunchy and flavorful. It was the perfect meal for both my friend and I actually - we weren't too full and didn't feel too heavy to walk around after. Also, please know that I feel so fortunate to have paid $1.75 for for perhaps 4 pieces of browned and almost rotten avocado that I had to pick out. What I'm most grateful for? The dried out pink shreds on top that qualified as radish--it took me a moment to recognize them as a vegetable because they were so dehydrated, but you opened my eyes to the benefits of shriveled, on the verge of spoilage type foods. Thanks so much. I can finally virtue signal about food wastage, and with delivery and tip it only cost me $24! I particularly love the way you put such large chunks of kale in your kale base, even if it was only a couple bites instead of the majority of the base it was supposed to be. I used to think that kale salad tasted more pleasant if sliced into smaller pieces, but you've helped me understand that those larger pieces can buffer the rotten avocado that I saved from your trash can for the bargain price of $1.75. Thank you so much for the illumination. I must say, that one segment of enoki mushroom I found in the mix was delightful. As was the single bite of kelp noodle base that was meant to be 1/3 of the base. There was also one segment of orange buried in the massive amount of rice at the bottom. Literally one. Wow! Maybe it's not super "traditional" because they add extra ingredients and options that are not typical to poke, but I think that's exactly what makes Sweetfin special (and their poke extra tasty). I had the Large Spicy Tuna (Creamy Togarashi, Rice, Cauliflower, Slaw, Avocado, Crispy Onions, Hijiki, Edamame, Cucumber) and liked it so much that I ordered the exact same thing a week later. The only reason that I can think of for the low stars is that it's pricier than other poke places, and it's not super traditional.
