Ive lived in the mountain community for ove 40 yrs, have been using oakhurst cleaners for more than 15 yrs on a regular basis. up until recently ive accepted the fluctuations in costs to launder/dry clean my clothes (i will accept a certain amout of gouging to support local business,but that support should flow both ways). normally to press only a uniform was $2.50, and $1.50-$2.00 for shirt only. dry cleaning ran about $3.50. Now I go in and PRESS ONLY uniform shirt was $5.00 and dry clean was $8+ per shirt. When I asked why so high. Im told because the shirts were made from wool and some were linen so they needed special handeling- what she ment to say was that I needed special handling for that B.S. shirts that are made of material like wool. linen. and silk have to be DRY CLEANED. thats what the special handling means not to add a special price to them!!! so needless to say 8 shirts cost me $74. I asked for a price list on other visits and even requested a price list be posted in the business because I can tell you that the prices vary with who evers working and the day, and this comming from a CHRISTIAN run business. I would strongly recomend not using this cleaners unless you absolutly needed to! read more

Note( ....$2.00+ in _very_ affluent areas in the SF Bay area, such as Los Gatos, Los Altos, SF City) Ridiculous prices here - about 100% higher than Madera or Fresno or the SF Bay area - where the quality elsewhere is indistinguishable from the the result here, as well. If I live in a sizable town, such as Oakhurst, where the wages are perhaps 20% less, and the housing is about one-third the price of the SF Bay area, I expect that the price of dry cleaning is directly proportional to the price of housing, as it is throughout the country... draw your own conclusions read more

This is the second time I've taken my jeans here, they are great people to deal with! my Jeans were done fast, I just wish they would starch them heavy. If you're after heavy starch look elsewhere. read more

I am new to the area, and after reading the reviews and getting a first hand negative review from my boss, I was trepiditious, but decided to make up my own mind, especially as they are pretty much the only dry cleaning game in town in the Yosemite area short of Fresno and Merced. I called in advance about the pick up service in Yosemite Valley and the woman I spoke with had no clue, so she took my name and number and promised to call me back when she got an answer. Still waiting on that call, along with World Peace. I drove down to Oakhurst last weekend and dropped off a slew of pants and a military uniform for pressing only, so I can't speak to the dry cleaning. While there I got set up for Valley delivery, and paid in advance,$20 to press five pairs of pants and the uniform. This took longer than my L.A. self liked because the woman helping me wasn't sure about a lot of the logistics, but she was super nice and eventually things were sorted out. Most importantly, my items were delivered to the Valley and looked great by the following Tuesday. I had to laugh at the way I found out my stuff was there: A ranger stuck his head in my work area and told me, as he'd seen my uniform's name tag. Viva la small town! read more

I took 8 panels of drapes in to Oakhurst Cleaners on 10/31. Thé employée, Josh, took the drapes, did not make any comment or have me sign a waiver, and told me they would be ready in a week's time. On Nov 3 I rec'd a phone call from Lesley asking how old the drapes were and stating that the backs of the drapes had melted in their washer. ( The drapes were 12 years old). On getting a photo of what was left of the drapes, I instructed Lesley to toss them, but stating I would like to get a refund or a credit for the $116.10 I initially paid for them. Lesley told me she would talk to her boss, and either he or she would get back to me. Not hearing from either of them, I went in to the store on Nov 8. Lesley reiterated that she had spoken to her boss, Mike, I believe, but, that he might only offer me a partial refund as "  We did do the work ". I answered that I paid $116 for a service which I did not receive. She said , again, that she would speak to her boss who would call me. Today is Nov 13, I still have not heard from Mike and don't believe I will. As no one has bothered to call me, I no longer wish to receive a credit as I will no longer be patronizing this store of which I have been a customer for over 20 years. This is incredibly poor customer service. I want my refund Mr. DeMeussy or there will be further consequenoces. By the way, I have filed a complaint with BBB. Louise Nemeth read more

Do not trust them with your clothes, they will destroy them. Then ask you to trust them to be responsible to replace your ruined items in a professional and timely manner. Only to have you call over a month later,... asking when you're going to be reimbursed. To find out that they haven't to bothered to address situation at all. I know for a fact that it takes 7-10 days through the website or just 2-3 days though Amazon to replace these items, these people just don't give s s#&%+ DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE read more

Took my wedding dress here and my rehearsal dinner outfit when we arrived in town earlier in the week before our wedding. They had great turnaround and everything turned out great. I didn't really have many options so, I handed them my dress and crossed my fingers. My dress had a bunch of pleated ruffles in it and I was worried that when it was "pressed" they would all come out. They didn't, but there were some areas where the lace overlay didn't quite lay flat and where one or two of the pleats wasn't laying nicely like the others. It really wasn't noticeable to anyone else other than me because I knew this dress better than anyone. It really wasn't a biggie, but if I were doing it myself and paying attention to detail, it would have been better. The other items turned out great. So I would definitely use them for regular, everyday items but for very detailed and intricate items like wedding dresses, you may not get the perfect dress you were hoping for. read more

This is the only cleaners in town...so I guess that's why their prices are high. We were staying at the casino for the weekend. Took my pants in for wrinkles. Were told it would be a 2 days turnaround time. The prices were a lot higher for the same service in Fresno and they wouldn't accommodate my request for sooner turnaround time. I just needed the wrinkles ironed out. So- NO-I do not recommend this place. read more

My husband took in a wool/silk sweater to be dry-cleaned. The label says hand wash or dry clean. Unfortunately it was washed and not dry-cleaned and shrunk to a child size and can no longer be worn. It is also stiff and would be like wearing cardboard even if it could be worn. This was a very expensive sweater that is now ruined. Additionally I had a silk blouse (with embroidery) dry-cleaned about a year ago and it too came back ruined. We used to use this dry cleaner for years, but never again. We will have to now drive all the way the Fresno to find a dry cleaner that does not ruin clothes. read more
