Awesome customer service! Came in to get our boards waxed and they do a free machine wax, which only took about 10min per board. Most places charge about $10-$15 for this. The person who helped us was very friendly and informative. He made sure to give us the correct wax as we wanted it for spring conditions vs end of the season wax. read more

I needed new ski pants and poles on my recent trip to Mammoth and tried like 5 different places (it's end of season so selections most places were limited), not only did this place have a great selection of ski pants I really liked (I ended up buying 2 pairs), but the guys working there were so helpful and patient with me trying on a bunch of pairs. They had end of season discounts, so I got the 2 pairs of ski pants and poles for about the same cost I expected to pay for just 1 pair of nice pants. Definitely recommend this place! read more

This is my second time renting a snowboard and bindings from here and it's so affordable since I have my own boots. As of April 2023 it's $25/ day for just the board and bindings. If you reserve at least like 48 hours in advance you and rent for a couple of days I think you get a 20% discount. read more

This is the place to get your skis tuned in Mammoth. They do hand tunes for racers and know their stuff. Matt, the owner, was super helpful in sorting out a bad tune I had done at another place. They have a great non-stressed out approach there, and really take their time with their clients. I noticed that with myself and the other clients being served around me. I read a lot of good reviews on this place so I decided to take my family iof 5 in to rent skis. I noticed online I needed to make a reservation. However, I wanted to know what type of demo skis they rented. I emailed them. No answer. I finally got around to calling. The gentleman was super nice and told me about his brands. The window of 48 hrs had passed to make a reservation but he said there was plenty of skis to rent. I get there Tuesday 1/3 at 3.30 and the girl at the front said they could not accommodate our party size. WHAT? Off we went to another rental place. I guess lesson learned to make a reservation. They pointed us in the right direction for face and hand protection, and never tried to upsell. Wound up renting boards and helmets for a couple hours for the boys to take a run on some hills ..... Great experience here! We wanted to avoid the long lines and save time renting the night before skiing. Since it's been snowing so much we knew there would be crowds at the lodge. I liked the fact since it was after 5pm they did not charge us for that day of use and only charged one day of use. The staff had great attention to detail and wanted to make sure all the equipment was perfect for us and everything went through a double check. Most rental places I've been want you in and out and don't care if the boots fit correctly or if you have the correct sizes. They wanted to make sure everything was perfect so we'd have a great tome on the slopes. We weren't sure if we'd ski for one or two days and the owner said if we wanted a second day that was fine, just give him a call to let him know. The equipment we rented were all in great condition, the boots seemed new as well. Highly recommend coming here to save time waiting in line up at the mountain. read more

this is an updated review for them. our 2nd time renting from this place. again, this one everything was excellent. the owner Matt is a great dude. they stayed open during thanksgiving day, we got here around 1PM and we were in and out within 10 minutes. we were the only group that was in there. and i had a good chat with Matt regarding the city and the ski area. would consider them again for equipment rental. even one of the girl in our group ended up buying the shoes that she rented. it was just that great of a quality. lol Thank you Matt! read more

This small shop is located right across the street from my condo on Old Mammoth Road. They have a hot wax roller and offer free waxes (it's customary to give a tip - the tip jar is near the cash register and helps buy dog food for the resident pit bull who sleeps on a cushion near the front window of the shop.) There is a small selection of gloves and ski equipment and they do ski rentals. Robin, the Australian store manager, usually has a football (aka soccer) game on the telly and provides local mountain gossip, occupancy rates, ski conditions, etc. He is quite helpful when it comes to ski equipment and will help you with various issues you may be having. I'm guessing he doesn't specialize in snowboard equipment advice. For that, I would recommend Wave Rave on Main Street. I appreciate the free daily hot waxes and enjoy chatting with Robin in the mornings. Command Performance/Fast Ski is another example of a nice, down to earth Mammoth shop. read more

This little shop does a GREAT job tuning skis. New owners since September 2017, Matt and his staff work hard to provide their best service, advice and good pricing. We arrived at a VERY busy time of day during a Spring Break week to rent a set of skis, boots and poles and get new skis and bindings set and tuned and they got us taken care of as quickly as could be expected. Not only that, but Matt remembered us and the details of our interactions later when I brought in a second set of skis to be tuned. Those skis, Volkl Mantras, never slid so well. I'm stoked!! Amazing service, a nice change for a Mammoth Lakes board shop. I was looking to have my board waxed and tuned and didn't want to go to the same stores that were on Main St from past experiences. The shops on Main St are usually ran by teenagers that are often rude and not very helpful. After doing a quick search, I decided to give Fast Ski Sports a chance from the other great reviews. I walked in and was greeted by one of the two older gentleman that were working there. After informing him what I needed, he apologetically explained to me that what I needed could not be done overnight. I needed a minor top sheet repair, edge tune, and a wax. He explained to me that they were already booked up for overnight service but also explained to me that the top sheet damage was minor and that I could try to fix it myself with some epoxy work. He also provided directions to the nearest hardware store where I could get some supplies. I asked him if he could give me a quick machine wax and he said that he would be happy to for free. He promptly waxed my board happily and I was on my way. I wish I could have purchased something from there to thank him for his wonderful service but I didn't need anything. I will definitely visit the store on future visits for any supplies that I need. read more
