Oakland Bark Park is a treasured city park for the dog owners of Oakland Park. Located across from Easterlin Park and next to the railroad tracks, it is the first dog park to open in the city. A second dog park, Wag Dog Park recently opened in Oakland Park besides Richard E. Giusti Heart Parcours. Bark Park is divided into two sections: one for smaller dogs and another for larger dogs. This division is a great feature to ensure safety for dogs of different sizes and strengths. All of the agility equipment was recently upgraded and there are plenty of benches for owners to sit and watch their dogs, as well as tree shaded areas to relax, especially important during the hot Florida afternoons. The park is also equipped with water stations, dog waste bags, and trash cans, so it's easy to clean up after your pet and stay hydrated during your visit. One thing that stood out to me and that I appreciated is that the grounds are regularly maintained, and there's minimal litter or debris. I'd say go check out this park at opening (7:30am) for your dog to get off leash time and make canine friends especially if you live close by. I went with my senior rescued dog M-F at 7:30 for 10+ years as I dropped my sons off to school but after a few situations with irresponsible owners (after work crowd,) I felt it wasn't worth the aggravation AND the vet bills!! I decided to give it another chance last week and this morning was 4th successful dog park morning excursion. After 4 good days for a freshman dog park puppy, I decided to give it a thumbs up . He's only 6 months old but a large breed and the current science says to wait until closer to age 2 for large breed males to get neutered so that can present a few issues with OG alpha males but the morning owners are VERY mindful, attentive and responsible and were very welcoming to me and my puppy. I'm not ready to go with both dogs yet as one is a 13 y/o female schipperke/border collie and belongs with the small dogs but hopefully in the near future I'll feel confident enough to bring both. read more

A lovely park that seems well kept and right off Powerline. I was on the way to another park and couldn't resist stopping here. My dog isn't much for dog parks but he seemed to come out of his shell here. Plenty of hand sanitizing stations, water, restrooms and litter bags. This cute park had a large and small breed size under 25 pounds and everyone was social distancing. Ticked off all my boxes as far as dog parks go. Ample parking spots. Bravo! read more

I love this dog park, although it's small, it is clean, and the owners and dogs are very friendly. This dog park is tucked away just west off Powerline and NW 38th ST (South of Prospect and North of Oakland Park Blvd), right by the railroad tracks and Easterlin Park. There is a large dog area and small under 25 lbs area ,the large dog area is a lot larger. There are also public restrooms. The small dog area has a small table under a covered gazebo, and there are two separate benches in the park. There are hoses, water bowls and a small plastic pool for dogs to cool off in, as well as a few plastic bag/trash stations through out the park, and agility course. I wish there was more seating, but other than that its a great little park with a great mix of dogs and friendly people. read more

This is a nice smaller size dog "bark" nestled in a small spot by Easterlin Park and the train tracks between Andrews Avenue and Prospect Road. Great job to the City of Oakland Park on putting a small space to good use for people and their pets and on keeping the park clean and well maintained! Good clean dog park with two sections. One section is for small dogs and one section is for the large dogs. Each of the sections have pools for the dogs to run in and out of , a hose and water bowls to refill and use as needed. The small dog section is for under 25 pounds. The larger dog section is for over 25 pounds. I take my doggy to both- depending how many dogs are in each section as my dog is about 15 pounds, so he qualifies, for either, hee hee. The grass is a dark beautiful shade of green with plenty of trees and the maintenance people at the park really do a superb job of keeping it clean. There are several "pet poop stations" for owners to clean up after their pets do their thing all throughout the sections and even outside of them. Most of the time those are kept filled. The kids have a seesaw where the seats are creative "dogs" so they can play, while they are there, also.. Walking paths also exist so that the owners can walk or jog while the dogs and/ or kids are playing. I have figured out in the large dog park- 9 laps is a little over a mile!! Or if the owners want to chillax- there are lots of benches and a covered gazebo to relax at. Usually there is a great mix of dogs and people no matter what time I visit. This dog park is across from Easterlin Broward County Park and is good use of a small space by the railroad tracks. Easterlin has a free disc golf course- that I hear is amazing for you golfer people out there. It also has lots of trails and a great playground for you to wear the kids out after wearing out the dog, if they didn't get wore out while at the dog park. You may want to Yelp that and get more info there! I take my dog here about five days a week and he goes wild as soon as I get close. It's great- it wears him out! This park is one of the better ones I have been to. Many dogs were out and about, there's enough room for them to run. They have a washing area with kiddie pools and plenty of friendly dog parents. The park has a covered area for people to sit. The parks are separated by size of dog too. read more

Lots of owners that don't clean up after their dog. I like the park other than that. Beware of a weirdo that brings his border collie here only to walk him on a short leash and attempt to run my dog off because he wanted to play. If you want to walk your dog on a leash take them around the neighborhood. But don't act surprised when dogs are off leash and wanting to play with other dogs. read more

Nice park. I hate that's it not as big as other dog parks. Everytime we go we sit under a tree because one 0f my girls barks at everyone and I dont want her to have to deal with any dogs unless they are coming around on track. Weird that some sort of electrical tower sits in the middle of small park surrounded by a fence. There is 2 water bowls and one big cool of bath (I guess it's called) read more
