My favorite park for an afternoon walk or a morning workout. Always clean and safe! I can't wait for summer here!

This is a Multipurpose fitness area. People go play soccer, football, run, pickle ball. You come here and you feel active. You get into the mood to burn calories. The park is huge. Tucked between Victoria park and Flagler Village. There is an outdoor gym, bike trails and even a tennis court adjacent to it. They conduct outdoor music events in summer on Fridays. It's a pretty lively atmosphere

A few weeks ago I took a free CPR class the city of Fort Lauderdale was offering at the community center within the park. After the class I took a nice walk and was so happy to find calm and nature in the middle of our growing city. They have several sports fields, kids playground, fitness stations and a walking trail that is surrounded by beautiful Slash Pines. Check this park out!

Some gorgeous trees in the park

For a outdoor photo shoot, I wanted a park that had very little foot traffic. The photographer that did the photoshoot suggested this park. It was a perfect choice because the area that he set up had no people in it. We were beside some beautiful trees and it seemed like the best nature's backdrop. There were people in the park but they were on the trails, or in far distance from us. We were able to do the photoshoot in little over an hour and even though it was extremely hot outside, due to the trees and the sunset timing we picked it was not very humid. This park has multiple areas such as dog park, children's playground, walking paths, sports fields etc. There was a park ranger on site that was driving around for peoples' safety. I would suggest them to maintain their grass area a-little bit better since some of grass needed better maintenance. Side Note - There were covid testing signs here too. So in the day time, they have covid testing here as well. Stay safe everyone and maintain your distance.~

You'll find a ton of things to do when you visit Holiday Park.  There's a playground for the kids, the War Memorial Auditorium, and Parker Playhouse all close at hand.   Available facilities include lots of different kinds of ball fields, and a wide assortment of different places to sit, walk, and/or just enjoy the sights. For people who enjoy the outdoors in general, it won't be difficult at all to find something fun to do here.  For those who prefer their activites to be indoors I suggest either the War Memorial Auditorium or Parker Playhouse.

What don't they have ? Seriously . I came here for a quick outdoor workout and I was able to bring my dog to the dog park! There's basketball racquetball and even a rink , very tempted to purchase a pair of skates now . It's FREE. Lots of parking . Right off of sunrise blvd.

Holiday Park is a great park that I wish I utilized more often and truly, all should! It's large, easy to access, and did I mention it's beautiful? Ok, let's begin. Minutes from the beach, I feel like parks like Holiday Park get overlooked, because who wants grass when you can have sand? I get it, but this is more than just a lump of grass. Located on the grounds are your traditional park flare such as swings and all things kids need to enjoy the outdoors. Side note: do kids still play outside for fun? Anyway, there are multiple baseball parks (or diamonds) so you'll likely hear the crack of a bat while you're enjoying the long walking/running trail. The park is clean and had a nice variety of people milling about, enjoying the sun when I stopped by. The park also connects you to the Parker Playhouse and Art Serve though part of its trails. The best thing about the park to me is the dog park and I don't even have a dog, but going for a run here and seeing all of the dogs was definitely a highlight for me and instantly made me want to come back here, even if it was just so I could pet dogs, but hey, whatever works, right?

Please BEWARE of this couple. They came in (without latching the gates) and started asking if my dog and others dogs were over 30 lbs - stating that our dogs would get HURT if not. They did not unleash there dog right away, which led us to believe the dog was possibly aggressive. They just kept repeating our dogs would get hurt. We did not wait around to find out and left but please BEWARE of nasty people who bully others. Such a shame.

    Oreo exploring the park!

1st time we visit and it's very sandy and my dog got hurt in his paws with the pine cones and dry sticks! Only one small water fountain but it's big and prepare to take your dog for bath later. My dog had a bath Appoitment the same day so it work for me! I will continue visiting new dog parks and adding my reviews. ****people are super friendly****

He gets hot, so I wanted to go in the morning on an overcast day. There's so much conflicting information about the hours and locations for all the dog beaches, I thought I'd start here. It was recommended on Reddit. BEST recommendation ever! First of all, where the dogs play is mostly shaded. From what I read, it's a man-made lagoon. The water is beautiful. You can see the bottom as you enter the water. At first, Teddy was a little hesitant to get in, but there were so many other dogs there, he just wanted to play. There are poop bags there if you need them. There's also a bench-style table to sit at. Teddy had a blast! Be sure to bring some water shoes. The beach/ground is riddled with small rocks, so walking barefoot isn't necessarily comfortable. I wore slides, and it was good. After I let Teddy play, we walked in the park so he could dry off. They have a nice shaded path. They also have a Disc Golf Course. What is that you asked? I wondered the same thing. I didn't see anyone playing, but I did see the Disc catchers scattered throughout. They also have a volleyball section with beach sand. Oh yeah, they have a pretty cool butterfly garden. No dogs allowed in there, but the butterflies were flying all over that area, so I was able to see a few. Overall, it's a really nice park. I'll probably go back tomorrow.

My contact at the town, however, told me that the grassy area used to be a parking lot years ago and most of the amenities were added within the last ten years. There's resident permit parking right out front and metered parking just across the street. As you walk along the sidewalk there are colorfully painted Adirondack chairs -- two per -- under umbrellas. And a shade pavilion with chairs. At the beach entrance are various signs with information. No dogs are allowed nor is cigarette smoking on the beach. The park is open 7 am - 10 pm. There's a display with life jackets hanging from it in case someone needs to borrow one. And some info re rip currents and water safety. Two shower towers are at the entrance, too. There are bottom water spouts for washing the sand off your feet after the beach, as well. One of the nicest things was the beach access path. There are two entrances to the beach and one is covered in a hard mesh -- perfect for wheel chairs or wheeled carts or if you have trouble walking. I took a short walk out to the beach itself. It's wide with clean, white sand here. Mid week it wasn't busy with visitors. Talk about a "chamber of commerce" picture! I couldn't resist taking a short video. A second dog park, Wag Dog Park recently opened in Oakland Park besides Richard E. Giusti Heart Parcours. Bark Park is divided into two sections: one for smaller dogs and another for larger dogs. This division is a great feature to ensure safety for dogs of different sizes and strengths. All of the agility equipment was recently upgraded and there are plenty of benches for owners to sit and watch their dogs, as well as tree shaded areas to relax, especially important during the hot Florida afternoons. The park is also equipped with water stations, dog waste bags, and trash cans, so it's easy to clean up after your pet and stay hydrated during your visit. One thing that stood out to me and that I appreciated is that the grounds are regularly maintained, and there's minimal litter or debris. Oakland Park's commitment to their dog families is evident in the care they take in their dog parks which provide a welcome space for pups to exercise and pet pawrents to socially connect.

I went with my senior rescued dog M-F at 7:30 for 10+ years as I dropped my sons off to school but after a few situations with irresponsible owners (after work crowd,) I felt it wasn't worth the aggravation AND the vet bills!! I decided to give it another chance last week and this morning was 4th successful dog park morning excursion. After 4 good days for a freshman dog park puppy, I decided to give it a thumbs up . He's only 6 months old but a large breed and the current science says to wait until closer to age 2 for large breed males to get neutered so that can present a few issues with OG alpha males but the morning owners are VERY mindful, attentive and responsible and were very welcoming to me and my puppy. I'm not ready to go with both dogs yet as one is a 13 y/o female schipperke/border collie and belongs with the small dogs but hopefully in the near future I'll feel confident enough to bring both.
