And while it's not quite the same as the bar hopping, house partying, beer bonging, roomate arguing, cold pizza for breakfast days as my undergrad - I really have no complaints about the Troy center! Located on Maple between John R & Stephenson Highway, it's pretty easy to get to - just a couple miles off of I-75. Clear sign from the road, and one main entrance to get inside. It houses only a small collection of classrooms, but even if you ignored your professor emails before the first day of class, there is an electronic screen scrolling the various courses and which room they are located in. There is a large kitchen with a number of tables and chairs, a few vending machines that are always well stocked, and a refrigerator and microwave for community use. In the lobby of the building is also the "Maple Street Deli", which is a small store run by the tiniest, most delightful Asian woman. She will make a small selection of sandwiches and salads fresh for you, and also sell you any number of chips, candy, beverages, and granola bars. She'll always greet you with a smile and remind you to wash that apple you just bought before you eat it. She keeps the Maple Street Deli open even on weekends, so us folks in a Saturday class aer still able to get a quick lunch without leaving the premesis. The bathrooms are large and impeccably clean at all times. I don't know how often the cleaning staff is in there (or maybe we are just a neat and tidy group that doesn't dirty it?) but there is never so much as a paper towel on the floor or splash of water on the sink. Classrooms are set up with large tables and plush rolling desk chairs. They're not stingy with the AC, to the point that I usually make sure to bring an extra hoody or sweater to keep from being chilled. Another great asset to this center is the student work room, stocked with a handful of computers and the crown jewel - a beautiful, new copier/printer that is always fully stacked with paper, can collate AND staple as it copies...never jams or runs out of toner it seems. You may be thinking, "so? big deal - seems like something that would be standard." But ooooh no. I have spent much time in educational facilities and this is not always the case. Facilities aside, any emails I send to the folks in the student services offices here are responded to promptly - like, within the half hour. So thanks CMU Troy for making graduate degrees as convienent and pleasant as possible. (Until I think about the thousands of dollars in tuition floating out of my pocket each semester.)

"U of M" as it's called locally, is the state's oldest university having been founded in Detroit 1817 before being moved to Ann Arbor 20 years later. It is also a very large public university with 46,000 students, second only to Michigan State University with its 50,000 students. Intercollegiate athletics are a big part of the university's tradition with a sprawling sports complex for the Wolverines including the "Big House" for football Saturdays. With over 500 major buildings on campus, the University's architectural styles stretch the limits from Angel Hall's Greek and Roman blend to Burton Tower's Art Deco design to the Law Quad's Tudor Gothic style. The University of Michigan is highly intertwined with every aspect of life in the Deuce. I think of the "U" as the anchor of this college town and in many ways, it is what makes the city different from every other city in the state of Michigan.

I really like the quiet environment and how this university has the nice essentials like GOOD FOOD. There is a chick fil a here... THAT IS AMAZING. The library is also really really nice and I always go to the 3rd floor where it is a quiet study place. I took summer classes and the education is nice! The professors are really passionate and really encourages their student to strive to their fullest potential. There is some leniency but I think it was due to a strong connection I had with my professors. I honestly I love this campus and this is my definitely a hot spot to study when I visit home.

About half of the students are just out of high school, pursuing either an associates' or bachelors' degree in business. A lot of the students are actually older, though. You'll meet a lot of like-minded people trying to further their career, or change careers, by attending Cleary or utilizing their accelerated degree program. The accelerated degree program was a life-saver for me. Classes met once a week for a year, with concurrent classes always ongoing on the web as well. Start out with your associates', do one more year of school and have your bachelors'.

I never experienced such bad financial aid problems before in my life. Ever semester is something…read morenew and different about ruining my tuition statements. One semester they did not refund me for a fee they charged me, overcharged my summer tuition (still waiting on that refund) and fall tuition by thousands expecting me not to notice. The school should just restart the whole financial aid department completely because I am not the only one with this problem.

I've been to several colleges over the years but this one is a joke. Most of the classes entail…read morebuying a textbook system that teaches and grades the course for the professors, and they are very hands off for all of the courses. I was working towards my Master's in finance but opted to switch to another school. I even had a prof that made you request to see the grades results of your tests. Why would you need to attempt to conceal your grading if you are not being dishonest. When I requested to see my graded exam, for the feedback on some of the questions he simply wrote "incorrect". Given this was a math class it should be very easy to provide feedback as to what was incorrect. I didn't have a single professor who came anywhere near justifying the amount of money I was shelling out for tuition. When I withdrew from the course and the school owed me a partial refund of my tuition it was like pulling teeth to get my money back. I had to call and email three times and each time I was told it takes a week for them to process refunds from the time there is a positive balance and asked to wait another week (this was several weeks after the positive balance occurred). I had to pester them to actually have them request for the appropriate department to process the refund.

I am a student at the Canadian College of Health, Science and Technology (CCHST) and,…read moreunfortunately, I have experienced treatment that I believe to be unethical, discriminatory, and unprofessional. Based on my personal experience, I caution others to be aware of how this institution operates. I believe the school engages in practices that take unfair financial advantage of students and treats them with a lack of professionalism and respect. Students who question certain policies or decisions--particularly those from a Black background--risk being ignored, disconnected from classes, or otherwise frustrated in their studies. In my case, after OSAP had already paid for all my program courses as outlined, I was unexpectedly told I needed to pay an additional fee for one course. When I asked why this extra payment was necessary, instead of receiving a clear explanation, I was withdrawn from the program entirely. I believe this action violated my rights as a student and raises serious concerns about discrimination and retaliation. I share this not only to report my own experience but also to warn others to carefully consider their options before enrolling in this institution.

I am an Alumni of Siena Heights University and proud of it. I received my undergraduate degree from here and I am now completing my Master Degree here as well. The main campus is 55-acres with 14 buildings in Adrian, Michigan, and there are satellite campuses in Southfield, Benton Harbor, Monroe, Battle Creek, Lansing, Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Port Huron. I finished my undergraduate degree while raising two kids. I also thought that if I could be a good example to them by doing homework and studying, they could learn something from my example(I think they have). The institution was founded in 1919 as St. Joseph's College for Women by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. In 1939, it was renamed as Siena Heights College after Saint Catherine of Siena. In 1969, became coeducational. In 1998, it was renamed as Siena Heights University. I went through twelve years of parochial school, why not finish my degree the same way. The University has 45 academic programs of study between the undergraduate, graduate and professional studies colleges. The undergraduate college is further divided into five academic divisions: Business & Management, Computing, Mathematics & the Sciences, Humanities, Social & Behavioral Science, Visual & Performing Arts & Teacher Education. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1. This is a great university for small classes and close association with the professors.
