On New Year's Eve I had bronchitis it was 5 minutes after Franklyn Pharmacy had closed. But when I called, the pharmacist picked up. He said he would stay open until I could get there to pick up my prescription. You find big brand pharmacies doing that. I have a prescription for migraines that warehouses often run out of. They always track it down for me. I bought an elbow brace there and then wanted one for my other elbow. They had it in the store the next day. Because they are smaller, they make their own purchasing decisions. They don't have to go through layers of red tape or through corporate to get things in. The people that work there are friendly, know me by name, but respect my privacy. Whenever I call, a person picks up, not an automated voice mail system. They also have a pretty good greeting card selection so it's a good place to go when you need to pick out a card for occasions. Plenty of free parking in their parking lot. Really glad I switched to Franklyn Pharmacy, only wish I'd done it sooner.

It's barely open, which is not great, especially if you work and need meds or need meds in an emergency (10am-7pm during the week and only open until 3pm on Saturdays and for 2 hours only on Sunday.) They also overcharge for medication. For example instead of putting 60 pills for one of my prescriptions in one bottle to equal one copay, they separate it, so they charge you twice. When I questioned this business process, the pharmacist got extremely angry and unstable. I moved my medicine to a different pharmacy that day because I didn't feel comfortable someone like that handling my medication. Its a shame because I prefer to support local businesses but not at this cost. Also the store always looks disheveled and really needs to be cleaned and organized. Parking isn't great either. ***Just to add to this review. The pharmacy is also holding my prescriptions hostage and refusing to send them to my new pharmacy. Really inappropriate and dangerous considering one of the medications I take is for my heart condition. Please do not use them. While calling Olsson's this week to check on 2 prescriptions that I needed filled I was informed that they will no longer order the medicine that I needed filled. Abrupt discontinuation of my medications is widely known to cause severe, and in some cases, life threatening consequences. The FDA states that abrupt discontinuation of the medications I'm prescribed causes severe physical & psychological harm to patients. I did not want to stop taking my medications abruptly but due to the fact that my script is due on Saturday (tomorrow) it literally leaves me no time whatsoever to avoid what will now happen to me. I understand businesses change, new owners have their own way of doing things, I get it. Giving patients absolutely no notice regarding medications that will have severe negative life altering consequences due to the abrupt discontinuation is going to cause me more undue harm than I could begin to explain. My wife and I have contacted every major and minor pharmacy in the area and as it stands the earliest I could possibly get the medication is Monday. So that leaves me from now until hopefully some time on Monday to deal with the ramifications. Just a heads up for anyone in a similar position. My disability, which is both crippling me & will cause my death, becomes secondary in a sense to the challenges created by others. We're going to keep trying to find somewhere, anywhere, to get the meds I need but after 24 hours of already trying the chances of finding an acceptable alternative is slim to none. I waited 2 hours but no call. I finally called in to find out what's going on, and she told me she's not filling it. I asked why, and she said, because she doesn't want to. No explanation, no apology. I've dealt with plenty of pharmacists in my career, but never that is so rude and unprofessional.

Sexist, Mysogynistic and unprofessional pharmacist/owner- lacks knowledge of community demographics and borderline creepy; denied me Plan B last week under false pretenses that insurance didnt cover it so he could extort me for the full price or medication that the ER doctor prescribed and that my insurance covers for. Then harassed my phone 5 times Becuase we both knew he was lying and tried to say his computer doesnt work and he needed to call insurance etc etc. another incident three months ago, made discriminatory hints about comments about prescribed contraceptives because insurance covers it and was begrudged that I didnt need to pay out of pocket. Started the "insurance doesnt cover it" script since then and had been withholding medications and discriminating against my health plan And formulary.finally transferred all my prescriptions to CVS at Indian Rock, turns out they cover my prescription for Plan B at no cost.
