Best Western - Road Trip Practicality Over Fancy Arrived…read more4/19-4/21 2026 We do a lot of long road trips, this one being a full six weeks, so priorities shift. At this point, I'll take a place where I can park right outside my door over a fancy, overpriced hotel any day. Convenience wins when you're living out of a suitcase. This location checked that box well. Easy access, practical, and overall a solid stop for the night. That said... breakfast. I've noticed over time that Best Western's breakfast quality has slipped a bit, and this location didn't help change that impression. What really threw me off was that it wasn't self-serve. Instead, you're standing there while someone portions your food. Not ideal when all you want is a quick, easy start to the day. A little "wait, what?" moment. The tougher part was the service during breakfast. Both mornings, the servers felt cold and uninviting. No warmth, no friendliness, and definitely none of that Southern charm you kind of hope for when you're traveling through the region. Overall, it did the job, and I'd still choose this kind of setup for road trips. But a better breakfast experience, both in quality and attitude, would make a big difference.

I had our entire itinerary planned and hotels reserved back in March, then decided to make a few changes after listening to a few new-to-me places from a friend who has been to Arkansas with her husband several times. Our 2 double beds room was $160.68. It's one of the nicest Best Westerns we had ever stayed at. That being said, it's not glitzy. Both beds were super stiff and uncomfortable. Of course my kids didn't complain because they are young. Lol. Dogs 30 lbs or less were welcome for a one-time $25 non-refundable fee per stay. My daughters and I loved their outdoor pool which closed at 10:30 PM. It was by far the cleanest pool we had used all year. Most of the staff members were all extremely friendly and used words like "sweetheart" and "darlin'." Just get over it if you usually don't appreciate niceties, manners, and that sort of thing. The breakfast had actual service - not the usual do-it-yourself set-up at most BWs. Kind of like cafeteria style, but they also brought plates out to customers. It just depended on the item. Huge fan for the price!

We had a waterfront cabin that had its own deck. The deck was brand new, and furniture was clean and included an umbrella. Check in was easy and done though a keypad lock system. No issues! Loved that there were curtains over all windows for extra privacy. New vinyl hardwood floors throughout the unit and fresh paint. Comfortable sitting area with throw blankets. Inside the unit, there was ample towels provided, as well as beach towels which was a nice touch! It is stocked with kitchen pots, pans, knives, ice tray, plates and cups. There is a microwave and stove as well. Air conditioning worked wonderfully which is essential for those hot summers. You can swim and fish on the property and they have a dock. The only things to note was we wished there were some lounge chairs outside and that the shower was a little bigger. If you are broad shouldered it is very challenging to fit comfortably in the shower. Additionally, there is only one mirror in the bathroom, another mirror elsewhere would've been helpful so one can get ready while another showers. We would definitely come back! It is only 10-12 minutes from downtown.

While the cottages are older, they are clean and well appointed. I have wanted for nothing on any of my several visits. The only drawback is that by leaving this review, you might reserve Cabin #4 on a weekend I want it!

Obviously the building is very old, but it is outdated and a lot of things were a mess or broken as you are walking up to the bathhouse. Upon arriving to the bathhouse they are separated men and women. I thought it was a public pool. As you post you have to walk to get ready for the spa experience, it's just weird, everything is so old, random, not organized. UNTIL you get to the actual bath house where the tubs are. Here is where everything starts and is relaxing. Khristina was taking cares of us. She prepped the individual tubs and would walk us through the steps. 20 minutes in your own private hot spring tub, 20 minutes in either the sauna or laying in a bed to cool off, then 20 minutes of hot towel wrapped around your body. This is where I was relaxed to the max. Such an awesome experience! Khristina really made it a wonderful experience for me! I would do this again for sure.
