Goodness Gracious! The Ohio Club may have been the HIGHLIGHT of our trip to Hot Springs! My girlfriend and I visited all of the bathhouses and other attractions, but kept coming back to our great memories of the Ohio Club! Located across the street from Bathhouse Row, the Ohio Club has had a long history in this town, having served gangsers, famous baseball players, and other celebrities. I can see why...I mean, they like great food and good drinks just as much as everyone else! The atmosphere is off-the-charts incredible and feels as if one is stepping back in time to 1920s America. Combine this with an amazing food menu and incredible drink selection, and you've got one helluva experience! Service was stellar...friendly and prompt. She was also very helpful with menu selections and drink choices, knowing exactly where to steer two virgins of the Ohio Club experience. We chose to share the Reuben, which was a great choice because it was so big. For drinks, we opted for the Ohio Rum Sour and Berry Ohio...never looking back as they were both delicious! This is a great place and we always stop in whenever in Hot Springs. This trip didn't disappoint and we visited twice. We always strike-up an interesting conversation with people sitting at the bar. Several local beers on tap and we had the Space Force, an IPA, on both visits....very good. We split a Reuben sandwich with fries and it was excellent. I also ordered a side of fried okra, which was delicious and so hot, I had to let it cool before eating. The bartenders are always friendly and will talk if time allows. The whole place has a great vibe. Speaking of the okra, I noticed that on my bill I was charged $13 and change for it. I thought WOW, but gladly paid the bill. The more I thought about it, I figgered it must be an error. On our second trip, I mentioned it to the bartender and asked if it were possibly an error. It was an error and she asked me how to make it right (there was a logical explanation for the error). I made it clear that I was not complaining, just wanting clarification. Where to start? Let's talk about the staff, greeted at the door and immediately sat upstairs. Ryon took care of us and was very helpful. Gave my wife recommendations on flavored lemonade, she went with strawberry lemonade and it was fantastic! We got fried pickles as an appetizer and they were perfectly breaded. The house made ranch was fantastic. My wife got the Hangover burger, its was juicy and delicious. I got the Reuben and it may have been the best Reuben I've ever had Asked our server for "best ice cream around" and was told Mamoo's... they were absolutely correct! Everything went well! Just loved being in this historic place and glad they provided information on its history. We sat upstairs at the balcony overlooking the bar from above. Cool view! Our round table was a glass covered roulette tabletop. What an expansive bar. They are known for their burgers so we had to indulge. We had the Blu on Black Burger and subbed for sweet potato fries. Yummy! Maybe a little small to share, but time will tell if we get hungry later. I also had a John Dillinger Gin Fizz. Cortney W took care of us and said we ordered well. This speakeasy was where Al Capone hung out. It's been around since 1905 & is the oldest speakeasy around. We walked past the busy old bar. We sat on the back by the stage, the music started at 7:00. I ordered a blackened shrimp salad & husband a burger with fries. My salad was outrageously delicious. The music was fabulous and the crowd was friendly. Surface was on point. We liked it so much. Arkansas' oldest bar should still be on your list of places to visit if you find yourself in Hot Springs if only for the experience. My impossible burger was good but could have been prepared with more flavor. Fries were good but not special. Still, my dinner checked all the boxes for a much needed meal after hiking 10 miles. I absolutely LOVE The Ohio Club. I grew up in Hot Springs but moved away for college. I came back to visit last December and ended up at The Ohio Club both nights. First off, the history is amazing. They have worked hard to keep it there. I think what I liked the most is when I went back the second night in December, the waitress remembered me coming in the night before (it was a Friday and Saturday night by the way) Then, I went in February for a wedding, and not only did I have the same waitress, she REMEMBERED ME! The cocktails are also great here and they have such a fun variety with a little bit of a history twist. I think everyone should add this to their list of places to try. I know some people get upset about the age requirement. While it is frustrating, it's a club. It operates just like any bar downtown. read more

Lots of photos on the wall indicating the history of the establishment. Notorious folks who frequented the Ohio club. You can only imagine what transiped here during prohibition. Sandwichs named after gangsters, memorabilia from the gambling days. We split 2 sandwiches that each came with a side. We tried the Philly cheese steak and opted for onion rings and had the Bugsy, a pastrami and corned beef sandwich and French fries. Both sandwiches were excellent. Some of the most tender, tasteful corned beef I've ever eaten. The fries were good, but nothing special but the onion rings were really good. This place is absolutely a sight to see. You can feel the old school gangster vibes as soon as you walk in. I don't even drink much but I couldn't help but order a drink from that very ornate bar. The woodwork was absolutely breathtaking. I can see why this place is popping! We were promptly sat on a Monday evening, around 630pm, however, it did take the waitress 20min to come to our table. Im sure its not her fault but the table directly at the front door is likely the worst seat in the house since most of the waitstaff are upstairs. She was lovely nonetheless. We ordered the aviator martini (3/5) and old fashioned (3/5). The old fashioned didnt really taste like it had bitters in it, at least it wasn't as prominent. We ordered the spicy green beans upon recommendation. It wasn't spicy at all so I'm not sure why it is called that. It was tasty but the green beans may have been fried too long, they didn't have a crunch to them. 3/5 We ordered the kobe beef burger 3/5. I ordered it medium but it came out well done. The flavor was tasty, it went well with the caramelized onions and I could taste the mustard. I just wish for $28 the burger could've been bigger. We also ordered the reuben, which was one of the main items loved by other helpers but this to me was 2/5. The pastrami tasted old and the bottom piece of bread was soggy. The reuben at oaklawn was the better tasting imo. The fries served with both dishes were good. The black and blue burger (even taking ut to go) was a 4/5. I would come back for this! The Ohio Club in Hot Springs has an incredible atmosphere right from the moment you walk in. The place doesn't need any artificial "old vibe" -- it has the real thing with genuine age, character, and beautiful patina that makes it feel authentic and special. We were seated at a retired roulette table, which added a fun, unique touch to the historic setting. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of the ambiance. Our server took a very long time to bring our drinks and even longer to return and take our food order. We ordered our meals along with an appetizer, but the appetizer never arrived. When we finally flagged her down to ask about it, she admitted she had forgotten to put it in and simply walked away without asking if we still wanted it. A minute later she came back, dropped the ticket on the table, and immediately turned to help another table. We never saw her again for the rest of the meal. Despite the service issues on a $78 ticket, I still left a generous $30 cash tip because I know how tough service work can be. Overall, the historic charm is definitely worth experiencing, but the service needs serious improvement to match the venue's potential. I'd give it 3 stars. read more

I decided to try the Rueben sandwich instead of my safe option (mushroom Swiss burger) because it seemed like people raved about it and why not try something new for me, and OH NY GAWD, this was the most delicious sandwich PERIOD. No not just the best Rueben ever, but the best sandwich out of all the sandwiches ever created (too far? I think not.) HIGHLY recommend getting the Rueben if you come here or anything with their corned beef, and you can't go wrong . The Ohio Club is rather a small joint, but full of history and character. We went twice during this trip and the food and drinks were amazing. I had the Old fashion burger which, to me, the condiments (ketchup, mustard and mayo) were over powering the burger. I like those as toppings but really took away from the burger taste. The Rueben was tasty, but I would have liked to see more sauerkraut on the sandwich. Also, they make the Rueben with a Russian sauce, but you can ask for thousand island dressing. We didn't stray away from what we liked, so I can't say if the Russian sauce was good or not. The Berry Ohio was yummy but after a while, it started to taste a little too sweet for my liking, I still finished it, but I wouldn't have gotten it again. The Bugsy drink was really well balanced with sweet, flavor and soda. Other than that the service was great and friendly, the atmosphere was almost like a quiet speak easy feel. Dropped in to see what it was all about. We didn't have much time so we just did a cocktail and two appetizers. A few local that we met said that the burgers were great but again we didn't have the time. We tried the Ultimate Bloody Mary, the fried pickles, and the portobello mushrooms. All of the items were good. The Bloody Mary came with a skewer full of meats, cheese, and veggies! I will definitely come back at some point to try an actual sit down meal. History Bang Bang in the Making. Come see the movie that was. A bar named after a custom carved wooden bar breakfront Johnny Depp's pirate would approve as it had a tale as tall as he would tell. A bar named after a piece of wood. By golly yes. You see this wooden bar backing was spotted, purchased and procured from the Great State of Ohio, then hauled down the Mississippi, then put on a wagon, but oops no wagon could muster its weight so a custom wagon had to be built only because an actual TRAIN (the current size at that time) couldn't accommodate it. Then once the wooden monster arrived at its final destination, it was found the entrance could not accommodate the structure so (get this) the front of the building had to be removed (and replaced) so she could be installed. And here she rests & aptly named, Ohio. And now for the people end of the story: If walls could talk: Mae West's review when and big break happened here. Also Chicago Mob Boss Royalty were frequently seen complete with Tommy Gun. Look above. I noticed the souvenirs of the gun slingers input. Dip your toe into this speakeasy turned bar & pretty darn good burger & yums joint. Glorified corruption graced these halls and upstairs alcohol served under cover during prohibition along with a human beings trafficked in the oldest profession. Word is the Great Gatsby was based on this bar. Artifacts from the era abound. So you be the judge. Better yet, ask the walls. They have something to say. read more
