I take riding lessons at Oakleigh Arabians and have had a fantastic experience. The instructor is excellent and explains the "why" behind the actions. She is deeply knowledgable and knows a great deal about horse rehabilitation. She is patient with me, although I'm an "older student" who needs extra attention. There are several boarding and training horses in the barn, and those horses are well taken care of, as are the farm's horses. The resident trainer, Jeff, is nothing short of remarkable. i Sent a horse to these people for training. I agreed to three months and was told that I could expect to have her going under saddle in that time. At the three month mark, I was told it was taking longer than expected. I agreed to give them the time they needed to get her going right. I told them that if I left her there it would be on the agreement that I would make payments and I did so. At the five month mark I agreed to another month and again said it was under the understanding I would make payments. They agreed. The next week on a Saturday, I got a text message to call them. It was at that time, I was informed my horse had been injured but they were not quite sure how as they were working her in the round pen and noticed the cut... Really? They told me it was not very serious... (800.00 Vet bill and a sliced tendon 3/8") At that point it was decided that I would give it a week to heal and then pick her up the next Saturday. When I arrived, She flipped out and had to be drugged to get her on the trailer. It was from that point The trainers wife started cracking on my abilities with horses.... I asked them to give me an amount that I owed to pay them in full and I would send them a check. The next Friday, They texted me that I owed them 75.00. I asked if they were sure.. They came back 225.00 I put the check in the mail the next Monday as I did not have a stamp.. I got a text.. we need this resolved now... I told them I out the check in the mail. After that she just got nasty posting snarky comment on my facebook page.. When someone else called he out for her behavior, she began a personal attack on me... I now have a horse that I would not calll safe by any means who is injured and out for six weeks and them we will know If she will be sound enough to put into training again. read more
