They also offer Pre-Planning packages to avoid putting your loved ones through this experience. They are compassionate, kind, respectful of your loved ones, and they gently walk you through the selection process. They realize you're numb from grief and no one is ever ready for this process in our lives. Conkle's interior remains as it has been for years but is clean, well maintained and cared for even though the drapes are certainly out of style. I know! Who's looking at the drapes at a time like this? The chapels are large and can be increased or decreased as necessary. They try to accommodate every person's budget and are helpful even after the service when you need death certificates or have questions. One additional thought is many restaurants are located within walking distance of Conkles in Speedway for those who spend hours supporting the family. This was brought to my attention and much appreciated for those assisting the family and friends.

Conkle has been gracious, patient, informative and professional without pushing additional services or options. They allowed us space and time while guiding us through the necessary steps. Their staff was prompt and respectful when they came for Dad's body and they worked swiftly without rushing to provide that service. Les helped us through each step of planning the services and has continued to assist us with things like applying for a DD-214 to verify military service and securing additional death certificates. We have felt listened to, respected and valued. Recommendations are suggestions, highly personal, and I highly recommend Conkle.

I didn't know what I was doing, but her knowledge made it a lot easier. After she finished her part, Alan Dunbar, funeral director, stepped in to complete the process. He was polite, professional, and very respectful. I felt comfortable with dealing with him. I trusted him, and he didn't let me down. From the start to the end of the service, I could not have asked for anything better. Alan and Shirley Brothers made my brother's home going a very heartwarming funeral. Thank you, Alan.

Washington Park East's search function for "Find a Grave" is worthless. Every time they find NO…read morephotos of the graves. That is inexcusable. The place is well managed and kept clean but they offer very little help in finding graves for loved ones who are searching. Very unprofessional. I will give it credit that W.P.E. cemetery is beautiful and serene. But when you go there..you're on your own! They need to post Photos of every grave...like most big cemeteries do! I will get the ball rolling by posting the grave marker of my loved one.

My mom had a lot of friends that have also brought different keepsakes and left them on her grave. In November of this last year I went to visit and upon arrival realized EVERY keepsake that had been placed on her grave was gone. It was completely bare. I went to the office and was told they had new employees and that maybe they did not understand their directions on cleaning the grass around the graves. Every year the cemetery cleans the lawn around the graves. I understand that and appreciate it. FOR NO REASON SHOULD ANYTHING BE TAKEN OFF OF A HEADSTONE BY ANYONE OTHER THAN THE FAMILY. My mothers headstone is not a flat one but a large stand up stone with a ledge around it for keepsakes and what not to be placed on. Imagine my surprise to find everything that had gathered there the 18 years she has been there was gone. No explanation other than oops sorry our staff must have thrown it away. Not much of an apology. Not only that but the lack of empathy was appauling. So I left my name for the manager to call me. No call ever called so I stopped back by the office only to find they had left a gift card to replace these items. No face to face apology just a card left with the receptionist. As if finding my mothers grave completely empty wasn't enough now there was no apology and a gift card in the amount of $25. One of the angels alone on her grave cost this much. I tried to call and talk to the manager and no response. I have always liked this cemetery it is beautiful and a lot of my family members and friends are buried there. But after this incident I will think twice about reffering anyone to lay their family members to rest here. This was unacceptable all the way around. I was told if I wanted to look in the trash where the yard guys could have thrown it I could. I didn't know what to say to this other than REALLY? The thought that my mother grave was empty like there was no love here for her is really a lot to swallow and the lack of feeling that was given to this situation is ridiculous.
