yesterday they staged a walk out protesting ice. personally i don't have an issue with that, but what i do find problematic is that their students held up signs with vulgar language on them that my 6 and 8 year olds were able to read, they were flipping people off, climbing all over structures, acting like fools. my kids have since brought it up several times asking about the bad words written on the signs and why they seemed so angry. this is completey unacceptable. my children are set to go to oakmont in a few years but at this point i'm seriously questioning if thats the right move for them. do better kids, once again i'm not even upset at the protest, just how they handled themselves. read more

This school will give bathroom passes back after lunch. My friend with Down syndrome transferred to Roseville high school and began to thrive. It's because some teacher thought it was funny to mock her Down syndrome. It's not funny. My cousins go here one is a junior one is a sophomore. They said the principal will yell at your child if they get in trouble and make them cry. If you want to send your child here, look somewhere else like Roseville high school or something. read more

It feels like I just graduated from here lol well beck in 1999 I loved coming to high school here I had the best teacher Mrs.Ellis she was my teacher 9th grade until I graduated high school and her teachers aid Ms.Avery may she Rest In Peace where really great oakmont was a very fun high school attend with lots of different clubs and activities and sports to join I always liked coming to the football games with my friends it was always fun after the game to go in the gym and enjoy the dance with your friends I made a lot of great friends going here not just in classmates but with the staff they truly did amazing jobs with helping all of there students in any way they can my 2 older sisters also attended here as well and my brother in law they also have great memories that we still all like to share when it comes to finding a great education for your family or friend I highly recommend oakmont higher school they are a great school with a lot to offer read more

The administrations tries. They, like all other institutionalized education organization, try to help, but they, just like every other or state institutionalized high school fail at connecting with student. They are just too big and too strapped for resources. This campus has dealt with too many student dying in too little time. Is it ever ok for high school student to die? Oakmont administration failed to understand their Title IX responsibility. Great AP and and IB course options. This highschool has instilled great academic responsibility and has helped to establish great academics that have offered significant success with my child's academic success in an accredited 4 year college institution. My child's academic success at Oakmont resulted in a lot of college acceptances and several scholarship offers. read more

Ok, I have to try and do this review from a adult standpoint and what they should experience if their child goes to this school. I attended this school 7-9 years ago. They were just starting on the renovation and rebuilding the library as I was leaving. This school has pretty good school spirit. The locker rooms and gym were clean. They have a pool that they use for PE for some grade levels. They have great art classes and a wood shop. Some math and science teachers are rude and won't work with the kids. Other math and English teachers are well mannered and nice. I'm glad that they remodeled because sections of the school needed some revamping. Somehow I wish they kept the viking in the quad because it had been there since the 60's. The remodeling has helped in the seating for graduations (which can be large and crowded). It has also prevented students from escaping off campus during lunch time (a popular thing to do). Parking was tough when I went to Oakmont. The parking lot was easily full. Which makes me wonder how everyone finds a spot now that that they have put portables in sections of the parking lot. I'm sure there are drugs in lockers on campus (they need more drug sniffing dogs to come on random days to sniff them out). They always threatened it when I went, but would never check and students knew it. Then again, I'm sure that there are drugs on any high school campus you go too. They have also remodeled the field- no more dirt on the track and there is AstroTurf- a great idea because before the field would puddle in areas when there was too much rain. read more

This is a worst high school you can send your kids to. The staff are extremely rude and they can't control their emotions. The school has ongoing racial/white power issues. I like the teachers but the vp is so rude that I decided to transfer my daughter in the middle of the year. It is unfortunate that Roseville district hasn't looked to the ongoing issues of this school to solve the problems. If I could I would give a 0 star. read more

We moved an hour away from the district and we tried to withdraw my daughter to get her enrolled at a new school in our area and they are very inconsiderate with what we need to do with our new home and moving and we wanted to get my daughter enrolled right away and they say that they cannot fax or do it over the phone and they are going to make us drive an hour just to get her stuff and papers taken care of and they will not help us change her districts because of their chromebook that they need returned , we were going to return it anyway but the attitude and sass that they portrayed over the phone when I asked for help really upset me, they always think my daughter is wanting to ditch class when I tell them to make sure her slip is ready and do not send it , they make her panic about being late to her appointment because she cried and they made her very emotionally distraught, they always seem to have a problem against my family and I and when we brought in a proof medical note the lady in the office looked at us as if it was a fake note . I am not pleased with attitude and lack of help this school has given to us , I would recommend enrolling your kids in a different high school . read more

I liked going here. They are pretty easy going on the rules, although there is still not much trouble. As others have mentioned, there is a drug problem here but there's a drug problem in pretty much all schools. At high school age, if your kid is into that stuff they will find a way to get it if it's at school or not. The school spirit is high which is always a good thing because then more students are trying to make the school look good and they have something to be proud of. This is the worst school you could ever be sent to. I currently go there and I have never been treated so badly, and I don't mean by students I'm referring to the staff. They are extremely rude and since going there has made me dread even waking up knowing that as soon as I step foot on campus, the staff will immediately judge and not only have I gotten dirty looks from administrators but the outstanding comments they have yelled at me. I've been told "can your shorts get any higher" when they are past the dress code length and " get your shorts out of your crotch" or even today I was told to change for showing to much when my shirt was a float quarter sleeve that didn't show any cleavage, stomach, or back. None of my under garments were showing either and It made me feel so down about myself the way they addressed it. And the fact that the ADULT staff should know better considering there adults and should behave as so but no, instead when I am called to the office Mrs. Myles yells in my face as I just sit there speechless by the immaturity. Even prior to going here I was discouraged by the horrible reputation they have created for them selves. It's known as "Cokemont" and has had so many racial situations, fights, and a ridiculously depressing environment and not to mention its programs aren't very good either. If you are thinking of going here or sending your child here I would HIGHLY recommend a different school and save your self from feeling embarrassed and having to deal with so much drama.
