I never received the call and so I called twice (a month apart) to find out when the permanent bridge would be in. The first time, I was told it wasn't ready yet. "We will call you". Another month passed and I called again. This time I was told the bridge wasn't ordered but she needed to have an impression done. This is the first I had heard about this separate appointment for an impression. In the meantime, her temp bridge came out and we are back having to get another temporary bridge in. I asked to get a discount for this failure on their part to communicate the entire plan and was told it was my fault. "They don't make mistakes" so it must be me. If mom's insurance was accepted anywhere but here, we would never return here! Complete incompetence!

Despite the initial problems I'm so glad I made the trip. Staff was very welcoming, considerate and professional. Location is clean and saw many pleased patients leave and arrive as we waited our turn. I was able to stay with my children during their procedures & they were happy too (as far as a dental appointment can be). Location is across from a beautiful lakefront park, so pack a soft lunch & enjoy some nature after your appointment.

I went back to the desk only to be sent to another place to check in. I was then told the Dr was running 40 minutes behind. My appt was for 9am and they opened at 8am. The nurse who took care of me was very nice and very gentle. I had told both her and Dr Scott Lawson that I was very afraid and anxious. She suggested laughing gas to help ease the anxiousness. She explained the cost and then had to go pay BEFORE I had anything done. As soon as I paid, everything was a rush! Dr. Lawson came in, said open your mouth and next thing I know, he's pushing needles in my gum without telling me what he was going to do. No numbing gel, nothing! Then he walks out. I can only assume he's seeing 2 patients at once because then I hear a woman start screaming. He comes back to me and asks me to open my mouth again. I think he's going to stick me with another needle, but he assures me it's not. He asks me if it's sharp, not if I can feel it. I said it wasn't sharp. He said good. I just stuck you with a knife. He starts tugging at my tooth, and I can feel everything and start screaming. He keeps going. The nurse keeps telling me to just breath in the gas but by now, the gas has only made me nauseous and I'm crying so hard, my nose is now stuffed up and I'm not getting any gas. He stops pulling, gives me more anesthetic with yet another needle, and says he'll be back in 5 minutes. The nurse is trying to calm me down. I told her I was never coming back here. Then I hear the woman in the other room start screaming again. My husband told me later he could hear her from the waiting room. Dr Lawson came back in and pulled the tooth, and I only felt the pulling pressure he said I was going to feel the 1st time. Then , I was handed my paperwork, my 2 prescriptions, and was swiftly shown the door. I will NEVER EVER go to this butcher of a dentist again! I have to give this place at least 1 star to be able to post this. The 1 star goes to the nurse who tried to help but stilll failed.

This has been my dentist for the last three or four years. I actually like the dentist quite a bit…read moreand referred my parents to him. But for what I need, I rarely see the dentist. Three stars for the hygienists, which keep changing. I get that my gal wanted to go half time or whatever, so she's out. But what happened to the one after her? I didn't like her anyways because she made my gums bleed all the time. It was as if she didn't have steady hands or she had careless hands or bad vision. She talked so much and didn't pay enough attention to my gums. So I remember asking to be scheduled with someone else other than her. I can't for the life of me remember that hygienist's name. Pretty sure I got someone new to me this past time because i got in on a cancellation. It wouldn't have happened that way except that the office did not respond to my call or voicemail or email. I finally found an old email with their online scheduling and tried to do it that way. That system sucks anyways because all it does is record your preference. It doesn't actually make an appointment. Eventually I got a call back and I was upset! I thought they had closed down because there is no reason to not return calls. I go twice a year and I have good insurance! They do x rays every year and have updated equipment. I like that they do an oral exam for cancer etc. they also evaluate your gums. Pretty thorough place, once you get in. Bonuses: it's completely solar powered, so they're doing their part for the world. Also, they have coffee and bottled water in the lobby. When they send you home, they give you a toothbrush, toothpaste and lip balm! The ladies there are very nice and the dentist is great, albeit talkative, but it's the hygienists that can make or break a place. Update- I've been going to this dentist for five years now. I have changed hygienists multiple times. But I most say, the dentist is so awesome. He gives his honest opinion about everything. He does not try to push you into procedures or Invisalign etc. One time I had a question and he wasn't totally sure. He promised to ask a colleague and get back to me. Sure enough, he got back to me by email. I appreciated his honesty and knowledge of his limits. He didn't hesitate to get a second opinion. That opinion was about the same as his in the end anyways. I always get a toothbrush and travel toothpaste on the way out. The also have lip balm that I keep in the car. They have improved their hours and added another dentist! They have also improved on getting back to me via email or phone when I leave messages. I have recommended my parents to his practice as well, and they are happy. Both have had procedures done and are satisfied.

Many years ago, I wrote the story of how I dealt with my first known root canal and got to know Dr…read moreSheth. As someone who has struggled with dental phobia for years, and now spent some time travelling and trying many other dentists, I can say that Dr Sheth has been most important to my dental health. From the very first visit, Dr. Sheth took the time to listen to my concerns, explain procedures in a way that felt reassuring, and work with me to make appointments less stressful. I feel like we are both interested in my journey through the phobia, unlike the others who were about tolerating it. Most dentists didn't listen to me well at all. I'm not even sure that the practices would allow them to. It's different working with an individual dentist than as part of a chain. While I still carry some trace of my dental phobia after many years, I've learned a variety of techniques that help manage my fear and make each visit more manageable. I can't say that I'm unafraid of the needle (it's still tough), but I've discovered many things that help me focus and lower the fear. The amount of fear I feel can vary--sometimes I'm less anxious, and other times more--but I've gotten better at managing it over time. Here are a few strategies that have really helped me: * Music while listening: I've found that listening to familiar music helps me stay away from thinking about what is going on physically, which in turn lowers my phobia's power over me. If I become too aware of him and disturbed by his work, I can use it to refocus. I'm currently using imagination in connection with it. * Magnesium and Gabatrol vitamins: These have worked wonders for calming my nerves before appointments. * Eating bananas: It sounds strange, but I've found that eating bananas before my appointment helps reduce my anxiety. I've actually used this for other situations as well, like when I'm tired of being around people but still have to be. It seems to work great for the mood. * Working out before appointments: A good workout helps reduce overall tension and prepares me mentally for the appointment. I think it causes my body not to have as much nervous energy to give me. * Counting: I use counting during procedures to distract myself. Counting while breathing helps me focus on the rhythm and calm my mind. * Deep breathing: I've learned that different breath counts have different effects. Focusing on slow, deep breaths helps settle my nerves, especially when I focus on counting my breaths. Box breathing, counting to ten, counting to twenty. It's similar to how the music helps me but also it's that the long exhale causes the body to naturally relax. I've also use this elsewhere and recommended it for people suffering from fear of public speaking or from being in a car. * Making lists: I write down what I'm anxious about in life and then consciously discard the list. This helps me release the fears. This actually seems to work because less anxiety is less anxiety even if it's not about the thing bothering me the most. * Tapping techniques: Combining acupuncture and psychology, tapping techniques have worked to calm high emotions, especially before a procedure. By focusing on the pressure points, it clears my mind and helps me stay calm. * Safe place imagining: This visualization technique is incredibly helpful. It's always available and doesn't clash with the other techniques. I imagine a calm, peaceful place. I think this might be even stronger for those who are primarily visual that it is for me. The progress seems to have moved me past the fear of the drill at all. I still have some unconscious reactions and difficulty relaxing at times, but the last few years the worse of the anxiety has been disappearing when the needle is in my mouth. I'm sure I've more control over it. One of the most important things I've learned is that Dr. Sheth has always been there for me, supporting me and staying interested in my journey. Most of this recommendation is actually hs idea to use what I learned to help others facing anxiety and phobia at the dentist. Unlike other dentists I've been to, who would push me through appointments without understanding my phobia, Dr. Sheth has felt like he was on my team instead of just putting up with me. If you struggle with dental anxiety, I encourage you to give these strategies a try and also to find a compassionate dentist like Dr. Sheth, who's truly willing to work with you, not just push you through.

I just came back from a root canal here last week and am going in for another tomorrow, and I want…read moreto tell you my story about root canals. Years ago I came to this doctor and had to get a root canal. I was much different then, for the same childhood abuse that probably led me to my tooth grinding problem also left me with other problems: including an aberrant fear of needles. Getting through regular fillings had been a problem for me in the past, so I was sure root canals were going to be one of the worst experiences of my life. Well, it wasn't, in fact that first root canal might have been one of the best things to happen in my life. The doctor was so patient, walking me through it piece by piece and giving me time to rest when I needed. His assistant Pat is a compassionate soothing presence. I didn't ever see either wince or lose patience as we got through this. When it was done, I had accomplished something easily when I thought it would be hard. It built my confidence at a time when I needed it, and enabled me to be bolder in life. A couple weeks ago, I came back. I had grown in my confidence to the point where I was riding warhorses on stage for hundreds of people several times a week. I found out I had to have 1-3 more root canals. I got a little bit nervous because I did not remember the procedure, but the doctor picked up on my new confidence and we went much more boldly forward. Is it painful? Well, in a sense...but if you hit your hand or stub your toe it is far worse: whatever sensations are pain, or cold, or tired in a full 2 hour root canal fade away in seconds. I laughed more than any of those: the doctor has a set up that let me watch youtube videos as he was doing the procedure. I watched videos people had made of the Adventurer's Club, and next time maybe it will be something like Monty Python or the Muppets. When it is over, it is over. You don't leave in pain or uncomfortable in any way. In fact, I went home and ate Chinese food a couple hours later with just a slight numb sensation. I've been riding my horse, going to theme parks, and doing my show since then and am doing another root canal tomorrow and will just keep on living my life the same after that. A lot of people are afraid of root canals: you don't have to be afraid of a root canal here. I'm not saying it's pleasant, and it is a lot of money for someone like me, but this is not the big scary ordeal it's cracked up to be. If you are scared a little, that's ok. your in a supportive place. Take it from me, you might have an important growing experience instead of the scary painful one.
