Within 2.5 hours of my first phone call, I sat in the chair with my mouth propped open where it would remain that way for the next 90 minutes. No, it's not a letter to an adult magazine, it's my experience with the staff here at the Dental Office. A big #thankyouthursday to everyone here. After getting the runaround from a few other dentists (Greenberg and Sage), I made a frantic call to Oviedo Smiles and it was the best decision I made all day. It was the day before Thanksgiving, my mouth was in pain, and I didn't want to wait for the others to return my calls any more. I needed a root canal pronto! Kat/Cat answered the phone and she heard my plea. After putting me on hold a few times and checking with the doctor and others, she asked if I could be there in an hour and I said yes. She explained they normally don't do root canals unless they're easy peasy and the one dentist I did see said it looked pretty routine, so I took my chances. Best decision I made since giving Taco Bell a try. When I arrived, I was greeted by people waiting for me. I gave them my insurance info and soon I was in the Xray room with Emily as she did all the stuff to see if the root canal could be done. I was in luck and was whisked away to lucky room 13 to get my #13 tooth fixed. It was my lucky day. If only it was 10 days earlier! Mira explained all of the financials and the way they build their crowns in house and I wouldn't have to wait for it from a lab. Most of the root canal was covered by insurance and there was a charge for the crown that I wasn't expecting (it was my first), but honestly, they deserve every penny for staying late as they planned on closing early. They made my day! Another woman (I didn't catch her name) came in who turned out to be the assistant manager and I told her how friendly and accommodating everyone was. I was truly amazed by such a wonderful staff. I explained how the other places had "consultations" then scheduled weeks away and she said they're about same day dentistry for people like me. I thought I lost hope after dealing with Greenberg and Sage and even my former dentist. Did I mention I'm switching to make this my new regular dentist!? My next consultation with them was scheduled for 12/22. Over a month just to talk about my mouth? Crazy. I want action in my mouth! I'm absolutely floored by everyone I encountered here. I can't explain it. Reading some of the other reviews, I can believe it though. I thought it was just me, but it's everyone (I guess I'm not special). Thanks again to the team here (including the dentist) who made this guy who woke up at 5am in pain and made sure he didn't suffer through the holiday weekend. I switched from my previous dentist because their hours were much later than my previous. I had an emergency shortly after closing on the previous, and smiles was open for another couple hours. Not only open later, but stayed past normal.closing without charging extra fees. They were polite, efficient and knowlegable. Their fees were much less than the other dentist and they can do crowns in house in about an hour vs needing a temp crown, a 2nd visit and then basically wait for crown to be shipped to them. This office deserves no stars. Be prepared to micromanage your records, billing, and insurance. If they tell you that it's going to be a certain price, get it writing. After 6 months of trying to figure out a bill with the office manager, trying to get regional to respond and even corporate not responding they sent the bill to collections. I can understand making mistakes, but to not take ownership and instead try and flip it back on the patient is unacceptable. I went into this office because they were "in network" with my insurance. However, they use "Better than what your insurance covers" product so it is a fortune. Definitely NOT affordable. I went in to have a cleaning and have a crown looked at. Instead the dentist states I needed a crown on a tooth that was not bothering me. She drilled it to nothing and put on a crown and now it hurts constantly. They also recommended a bite guard. The fee on bill is $15,000. Then they explain it doesn't really cost that much, and the copay is nominal. Umm okay. But I use a Bipap with a nasal pillow. Dentist says "No problem. One has nothing to do with the other." Except the mouth guard keeps my mouth from closing so with just a nasal pillow I have the choice of using the mouth guard or breathing. Mentioned this on the return visit to the dentist and she just blew it off. Stay away. VERY expensive with extremely poor customer service and quality of work. read more

Made an appointment 2 weeks ago. I was given a 5 PM appointment so they would have 2 hours in the event I needed a crown, also for a follow up from endodontist visit. I had a really unpleasant experience with another dentist, and I was recommended to try this office. I didn't have much time to wait because I was concerned about an abscess, and they had me in QUICK. Within days - I'm sure if I hadn't been on antibiotics already, they probably would've squeezed me in same-day. Dr. Ayoub patiently listened to all of my concerns and got full X-rays, an occlusion guard fitting, and some testing done all in the same consultation appointment. The following week I came in and she patiently worked with me to get my fillings done - it took some extra care because of my last experience but there was no judgement and only genuine care toward my situation. Her assistant also fitted my occlusion guard and her hygienist got my cleaning done the same day. Within two appointments, less than 7 days apart from each other, all of my concerns had been handled and I left with my occlusion guard. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience, they even worked with me on payment no questions asked. Plan to spend a few hours at the office, but know it's WORTH IT because they are thorough. Everyone was extremely sweet, and Dr. Ayoub made me feel very safe with her from the get-go. She is very reassuring and she will explain in detail what she is doing every step of the way. If you're scared of the dentist, or your child is scared of the dentist - she's the one to go to!! 5 stars all the way. I wish I could give negative stars but that's not an option. My daughter went a year and a half ago for a cleaning and check up and I am just now receiving a bill for services not covered. I checked to EOB and it looks like they clicked all the options, and she didn't even get a real cleaning. The hygienist was busy so the dentist just took a look, poked around and said that was good enough. On Sunday evening I broke a tooth. Monday morning I called Oviedo Smiles and they made an appointment for me Tuesday. I was in no pain so same day was not necessary. I saw Dr Overmeyer and cannot rave enough about her and her assistant John. In 3 hours I had a custom made porcelain crown made and fitted permanently. Be careful with this place. They accept my insurance which has defined copays for services that are preset between them and the insurance company. What they did was try charging me almost 2 times the copay per service, I contacted my insurance company who told me this absolutely is not the case and even took the estimate with dental codes and itemized what I should be paying and it ended up being substantially less. After speaking with my insurance company I then reached back out to the office and was trying to explain there is a discrepancy and was asking they look back into it, I was told that they would not do so and was given a million excuses for why the price is that way. When I asked for clarity I was given none and told that I basically need to accept this quote as is or find another office. I asked for the opportunity to schedule an appointment where I could come in and speak with both Mrs. Mira Bhula and the insurance company to clear everything up and that whatever the outcome would be is continue services. Mrs. Mira then became very upset with me and was yelling at me explaining that she's been working with these types of insurances for 20 years and that she would not be open to speaking with the insurance company with me present. The office then hung up on me, I called back to try and get my medical records and was told no then they hung up. I called back twice after that and was just placed on hold with no responses. This is simply amazing that they would rather treat people poorly, take advantage of clients and not honor their agreement with insurance companies. Please if you go here contact your insurance company before you sign off on services, know your copays, know what you should be paying, don't just take their word for it. I have been here several times and so far each experience has been great, considering I am going to have someone poking around in my mouth for a couple of hours. Any type of emergency, they have found a way to get me into the office quickly. They made crowns and a bridge for me in a matter of hours, which I thought was great! Me, thinking they want to pull it forward a half hour or so: Sure, what time? Oviedo Smiles: 1pm Me: That doesn't work for me, and I'm in the middle of something. Can I call you back? Oviedo Smiles, copping attitude: OoooooKaaaaay, WHEN will you call me back? Me, calling back an hour later after finishing a conference call and aligning my work schedule, my wife's schedule and class schedules for our kids: When's your next available 4pm? Oviedo Smiles: Nov 30 (three weeks later) Me, showing up at 3:40pm on Nov 30: Hello! Oviedo Smiles: Hi! We haven't been able to confirm whether or not we accept your insurance. The next twenty minutes sitting in their waiting room, while they were calling my insurance provider, were literally painful. The bad music and ads playing too loud over crappy ceiling speakers quickly gave me a headache, and masks were required when I was there (which is fine), so you had to shout to be heard. Another woman complained about this and they just smiled and nodded but wouldn't turn the music down. I finally just got up and walked out. The world is full of service providers who are unapologetically disorganized and callous, who say they value your time and respect their customers but really don't. I hate going to the dentist. Period. So, with that said, the only reason I am giving Oviedo Smiles a 5-star rating is because a 6-star rating wasn't among the selections. As a new patient to this dental practice, I could not be more satisfied with dental care I was given. I went in for x-rays and a preventative care evaluation. At every stage of the new patient onboarding, the process and people were outstanding. The X-ray technician was very friendly and answered all my questions about the types of X-rays I was taking and why they were needed. My dentist, Dr. Overmeyer, showed and explained what the X-rays had revealed. Though I was totally unaware of it, one of my crowns had been leaking resulting in significant tooth decay. In a subsequent visit, Dr. Overmeyer removed the defective crown, treated the tooth decay, (saved the tooth), fashioned and put in a beautiful crown which was a much better fit and smaller in size than my previous crown. Important to note, all throughout the treatment process, Dr. Obermeyer explained to me everything that she was doing, took her time, allowed me time when needed, and performed the various dental procedures with the greatest of care and highest of quality. Her dental assistant was also superb. Later that day after the treatment, the numbness in my mouth subsided and surprisingly I had absolutely no pain or discomfort. The cleaning and fluoride treatment that I had prior to the new crown was also a very pleasant experience. I also would like to note that the office manager who worked with me from my initial visit throughout all of my work in subsequent visits was simply outstanding and, despite being very busy, took the time to answer all of my questions and help me with the new patient onboarding process. So, if you are looking for a dental practice in the Oviedo area, I would highly recommend Dr. Overmeyer and the Oviedo Smiles team to you. They are all highly competent, friendly, and clearly enjoy what they do. read more

Most importantly, when the dentist and her staff are performing a service they are gentle and considerate of their patients experience. They are also transparent when it comes to ones expense. I asked for cleaning only and they stated without doing the other work now for $800 that the cleaning could not be done for several weeks from now. I asked the receptionist to call me when I can go directly back to the exam,xray... I waited in the car for 39 minutes. When I went in I still had to sit in the Lobby with 2 other patients. The xray person, Chris, was very nice and efficient. We had a good talk. The doctor was also pleasant and knowledgeable. The equipment was relatively new. I was left there for more than an hour. No one came to acknowledge they knew I was still there. My husband was also waiting in another room. He waited for over an hour for the dentist (after his x rays). I called the receptionist from the room and told her I was still waiting and I didn't know if they knew I was still there. She hung up on me. After 10 more minutes I walked around and told another staff member in the hallway that it's not good to hang around so long because of Covid-19. I wanted to be in and out. My appt was at 3, and now it was 5:30. Around 4 (I could hear laughter and chatting from staff members in a room nearby). Then it was quiet the rest of the time I was there. I called my husband and he was still waiting for the dentist. Finally the hygenist came in and said he didn't like me yelling at his staff. I wasn't yelling. I was speaking the truth after being totally bored sitting there for more than an hour. The music did not help. It got very boring. I watched youtubes and took pics of my xrays and myself. I can not sit for so long. I walked around a couple of times. It was horrible. I hope I don't get the virus, but if I do I will let you know. No one said they were sorry. No one agreed I waited too long. The young hygienist did not like my constructive criticism and he and the receptionist kicked me out. My husband left with me. So we wasted all that time risking getting covid, and not getting what we came for: a cleaning. It was the longest I ever waited for a hygienist. I waited 3 weeks for the appt and they said I was not the only patient. This place does not practice CDC recommendations. It is unsafe and the hygenist is a wise-guy. The 2 stars are for Chris and the dentist, but not for the business, covid-19 protection and the young man hygienist who thinks the world rotates around him. Horrible experience. read more

I actually liked this office, the staff and the doctor - I think she is thorough. I had a bad consequence of a simple filling, where I ended up losing two teeth. During the filling procedure, I brought my nightguard for adjustment to fit the new filling - the doctor refused to make the adjustment, she was confident the printed filling will be an exact match. I offered twice. Then, after letting the tooth recover with just a front nightguard, the first night I wore my full nightguard, the next morning I had terrible pain and hot/cold sensitivity in the tooth. The filling was too high for it. After a couple of months of pain, the tooth and the one above were extracted. The doctor refused to adjust my bite after the extraction was giving me high spots - she kept telling me i need a new nightguard. She never offered a complimentary night guard - eventhough she created a situation where I couldn't wear my current nightguard anymore. I am still dealing with an aftermath of extraction and pain. I felt that now she has washed her hands off me - she hasn't called me back to advise, though the office promised twice that she would. read more

Great place to get dental work done. Dr. Ayoub is smart, confident, and caring. She gets straight to the point and wants to do everything in her power to help you. I recently went in for a root canal and she was constantly checking to make sure I was ok through the process. Not only did she check on me but she was constantly and meticulously checking her work to make sure that it was the best root canal she had ever done. Absolutely the worst dental experience I have ever had. I made a new patient appointment for the advertised $59 cleaning, x-rays, and exam. Dr. Ayoub reviewed my x-rays and pointed out areas of concern. She commented on my sinuses and told me I would be a good candidate for an ear, nose, & throat doctor - she told me she had never seen sinuses that low before. She then informed me I had 7 cavities. This was shocking to me considering my last cleaning at another dentist was in July 2018. I was surprised to learn I had developed 7 cavities, especially because I have only ever had 2 cavities in my lifetime. Then the office manager comes in to go over the cost of the dental work prior to performing any work on my teeth. This was much appreciated because it all goes south from here. The office manager brought up an invoice for $2,200 but told me if I signed up for their discount plan, I could knock it down to $1,700. I asked if I could just stick with the $59 new patient cleaning for today. The office manager told me she would have to see if the dental hygienist has any availability in his schedule. I asked, "Isn't that what my appointment is for?" She then said, "Oh, you made an appointment?" At this point I am very confused... How else would I be back here? She sent the x-ray tech to talk to the doctor and the x-ray tech came back to explain to me that they would need to do a deep cleaning ($150) around one area of my mouth. I told them I would prefer to wait and think about the other services and would like to just get the basic cleaning. She told me that wasn't an option. They then pointed at a chart regarding periodontal disease and showed me where I am headed if I don't get all the work they recommend taken care of. Scare tactics aren't too effective with me. Dr. Ayoub made it clear that we should skip the basic cleaning for that day and instead get the fillings taken care of. I was told I could re-schedule the cleaning when the hygienist is available. Again, I remind you... the whole reason I came in was for a routine cleaning. When I learned that wasn't an option, I asked if I could leave. It was extremely awkward. The office manager then said, "Would you like to go ahead and schedule your 6 month follow-up?" And I replied, "A follow up? For what?" YOU DIDN'T EVEN CLEAN MY TEETH! I waited a week to write this review because I had scheduled an appointment at a different dentist for today. I am happy to report to all who are reading this that I have NO CAVITIES! I was also told at the new dentist that they see sinuses like mine all the time and it's no cause for concern. The best part about this is I had sent my Oviedo Smiles x-rays to the new dentist, so he was looking at the very same x-rays Dr. Ayoub went over with me. All this to say... It seems Oviedo Smiles' goal is to get new patients in the door and then to bombard them with extensive, unneeded dental work. I hate to think about how they planned to put 7 fillings into my teeth that show no decay or need for fillings. This place is a scam. They are unprofessional, unethical, and don't seem to care at all about the patient sitting in front of them. I showed up for a new patient appointment with my one year old daughter. I do not have child care and have no choice but to bring her everywhere with me. Since it was my first time at this office, x-rays were necessary, which is completely understandable. I anticipated this and assumed accommodations could be made with my daughter, i.e. leave her right outside the x-ray room where I could see her or on my lap with lead on as well. The receptionist and technician were rude and unaccommodating to this, and only recommended that my daughter be left in the exam room unattended and away from the x-ray room. I was not going to do that. Since the staff was unable to accommodate or compromise on a solution, I left. I am completely disappointed and embarrassed as a new mom that accommodations could not be made. Having worked in healthcare prior to staying at home with my daughter, I am fully aware and knowledgeable on medical imaging safety and considerations. The staff did NOTHING to make me feel welcome at this practice as a new patient, and made me feel discriminated against as a mom. My husband and I will not be returning. read more
