Three stars for the hygienists, which keep changing. I get that my gal wanted to go half time or whatever, so she's out. But what happened to the one after her? I didn't like her anyways because she made my gums bleed all the time. It was as if she didn't have steady hands or she had careless hands or bad vision. She talked so much and didn't pay enough attention to my gums. So I remember asking to be scheduled with someone else other than her. I can't for the life of me remember that hygienist's name. Pretty sure I got someone new to me this past time because i got in on a cancellation. It wouldn't have happened that way except that the office did not respond to my call or voicemail or email. I finally found an old email with their online scheduling and tried to do it that way. That system sucks anyways because all it does is record your preference. It doesn't actually make an appointment. Eventually I got a call back and I was upset! I thought they had closed down because there is no reason to not return calls. I go twice a year and I have good insurance! They do x rays every year and have updated equipment. I like that they do an oral exam for cancer etc. they also evaluate your gums. Pretty thorough place, once you get in. Bonuses: it's completely solar powered, so they're doing their part for the world. Also, they have coffee and bottled water in the lobby. When they send you home, they give you a toothbrush, toothpaste and lip balm! The ladies there are very nice and the dentist is great, albeit talkative, but it's the hygienists that can make or break a place. Update- I've been going to this dentist for five years now. I have changed hygienists multiple times. But I most say, the dentist is so awesome. He gives his honest opinion about everything. He does not try to push you into procedures or Invisalign etc. One time I had a question and he wasn't totally sure. He promised to ask a colleague and get back to me. Sure enough, he got back to me by email. I appreciated his honesty and knowledge of his limits. He didn't hesitate to get a second opinion. That opinion was about the same as his in the end anyways. I always get a toothbrush and travel toothpaste on the way out. The also have lip balm that I keep in the car. They have improved their hours and added another dentist! They have also improved on getting back to me via email or phone when I leave messages. I have recommended my parents to his practice as well, and they are happy. Both have had procedures done and are satisfied.

Switched from a different dental office to this one because it's closer to where I live. Came from…read moreanother Smile Generation office to them - transfer of records, etc. went for a cleaning and exam as a new patient. The first person to see me could barely speak English and went through what I had already confirmed online the day before, but, the language barrier made this process so difficult, she had to get someone else and I'm the one who speaks English! Saw 5 other people through the process for various evaluations. Finally saw dentist to discuss treatment options for a deep cleaning and nearly immediately a different guy came in to discuss payment options,etc. so a simple cleaning appointment now is turning into a $700 visit that most of this cost is not covered by insurance. The best part? They refused to do the cleaning the appointment was made for in the first place. And....they never pulled my records from the other office, nit until I told them to. Despite seeing those records they didn't seem to care. Wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time for nothing. Seemed like a staged battery of people to get me to agree to their plan.....wasn't sure if I was at a dental office or a time share presentation. I did go back to my previous dentist and let them take a look as well. You know what? While they agreed with the procedure that was recommended at Dentists of Sanford, they ran the same insurance and my insurance covers the whole thing....so why did Dentists of Sanford want so much $$? No telling. They are just generally pushy and dont seem to care about you as a person. They make you feel like you're part of their process. It's like they have forgotten they are here for you - you aren't there for them. The place was clean and nicely kept but there is zero trust here for me. Be aware that it sure felt like a high pressure sales pitch and a total refusal of my current dental treatment from another office in their network. What still baffles me is their refusal to do what I came there for. Think I'm going back?

I recently had a tooth break and required dental care. I'm new to Florida and dreaded the experience of trying to find a friendly, reasonable and professional dentist. My daughter recommended Oakport Dental. Trusting her judgment (she was raised to be truthful), I made an appointment. I'm so glad I did. Making the initial appointment was a breeze, as the office scheduler, Alison, was friendly, and very helpful. On my arrival I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, Adrian, who is engaging and supportive of all customers, new and old. After a short wait, Maureen, the doctor's assistant led me to the examination room and explained to me she would be taking an x-ray. The finished x-ray was projected to a viewing screen in front of me, and Dr Aebli appeared, introduced himself and carefully pointed out the various options to resolve my dental problem. I opted to have the remaining tooth stub removed and replaced with a permanent bridge. Maureen then led me back to the front office, where Alison set up appointments and Adrian listed the procedures and all costs. While all this was taking place, I couldn't help but admire a painting hanging over Alison's desk. Seeing my interest in the painting, Alison explained to me that the painter was Dr. Aebli. Then Adrian directed my attention to the framed pencil sketches hanging on the wall behind me. I was much impressed to learn that the doctor is a man of many talents. I later learned that the two attractive inlaid tables under the drawings had been built by, you guessed it, Dr. Aebli. The art work and tables obviously reflect the efforts of someone who strives for perfection, and that is the type of person I want creating my smile. Their mission is to provide affordable dental care for everyone. Located in Perrine, this dental office has parking in both front and back of the building. I highly suggest parking in the back at is was more ample and spacious. The staff are super friendly and attentive. My wife felt super comfortable and in good hands. Their rates were extremely low compared to other dental offices but at no point did that affect service nor quality. Many of the staff speak mostly Spanish but are experienced dental practitioners from other countries. Overall would highly recommend The Smile Mission for anyone needing dental work in Miami.
