I have to say this shop and maurice really take care of my mom and her car. My moms older and whenever she pulls in the guys always take care of her and the prices are always fair. I used to take my car to the dealership because i couldn't trust any of these smaller shops and the dealership starts and $250 for a basic oil change. Welp no more now i also take my car here and the really hook me up. This morning we pulled in and jose took care of the problem in 5 minutes. Correction: OAK Shell, and every time I fill up at this gas station I think, "If only the people back East could see this." There is a gorgeous view of the distant hills framing the North edge of the Valley.....and there is usually piped-in classical music as you pump your gas. Now, that's California livin'! read more

I can't stress enough what a pleasure it was to come to them and have them replace my battery - they even gave me a loaner (which they didn't have to do at all) while my new battery was ordered. Such a pleasant STAR smog check experience at Oaks Shell Auto Care. Drop your car off to the nice mechanic with your DMV paperwork and car key, go inside to fill out a work order, walk to Gelsons for coffee and a muffin, check Facebook on your phone at the outside seating area, return to the Oaks Shell station after 30 minutes, pay about $50, and voila! oaks shell quoted me a price without any coupons, gimmicks, marked up and discounted price games of $49.00 total. They were busy and I was told to come back the following day at 4pm. I showed up promptly, they took me right away, did the smog check, processed the paperwork and I was on my way all within 25 mins. A happy customer. read more

Great please for service. Sadly it's rare you find a mechanic you trust and who constantly looks for ways to save you money, but this guy, Jose, is such a man. I used to take my car to the dealer but once it was out of warranty I needed a more reasonable place and feel blessed to find them. I've sent a lot of friends there and they all rave about Jose. I have been a loyal customer to the same owner, Sami Hadad, for over 40 years he owns multiple Shell station. My family and I purchase gas multiple times a week, we have our smog checks done there as well as minor automotive repairs. I never had a bad experience. They are honest, friendly, and do very competent repairs. read more

Smog check done quickly. I killed time in the grocery store which was next door. Wish they would have called me when it was done rather than me waiting one hour as quoted. I asked while they had the car if they could put air in the tires and they said yes. When I got the car back it still indicated low air. Oh well. At least the smog check was fast read more

My 1990 truck failed the smog test. I went to other mechanics and they said it's a very hard problem to solve and they would try if I'm OK with spending a lot of money. The states smog test website said this station was the only one recognized in Calabasas to do the repair. Jose is fantastic. He diagnosed the problem and was kind enough to show me what was wrong. He presented the option and did repair at a very low and reasonable cost. It passed the smog test. I feel very fortunate to have found Jose, he is obviously an outstanding honest and extremely knowledgeable mechanic. read more
