I had to get a very last minute smog check as soon as possible to get my registration up to date & when I called the owner was so welcoming and calm. He said it wouldn't be an issue at all and to bring it in - keep in mind it was close to closing times. I came in and he knew it was me based on my car. These guys were the best doing my smog check. I already go to this 76 for regular cleaning of my car, but also needed a smog check. I accidentally brought the wrong car with me to get it smog tested! Totally my fault. They did the right thing and realized I made an honest mistake. I came the next day with the correct car and wasn't charged again. Good old-fashioned customer service. Before writing this, I read the one-star review from the doctor who got bad service, and I have to think he mixed up this (wonderful) smog check with one down the street - both of which have a Ventura Blvd address. Today I went to the one down the street - I'd been going there at least 12 years - and I had, in my opinion, a bad experience with the new guy. The doctor mentions a new guy: that's why I think he got the locations mixed up. If I'm right, I do hope he'll fix it - this is a mistake that's easily made. So, I drove down Ventura to this place - in a 76 gas station/car wash. Peter was awesome. So friendly, very customer-oriented. I can't imagine Peter behaving like the one-star review describes (that sounds like the other guy, down the street). Even though I was a drive-in with no appt., Peter was fast and took great care of me. You can sit inside or outside to wait. Derek greeted me as soon as I pulled into the lot, let me know that they were able to see me right away and it would take approx 15 minutes, showed me their indoor and outdoor seating and came to get me as soon as the check was complete. Do not go this smog check place anymore. Very sad I have done my smog check for over 10 years. They have a new guy who absolutely does not respect anybody else time. Said open at 8:30am Went there at 8:10 am and want to get this done. I am a Physician and have patients to see at 9:30 am. This guy open the door at 8:45am. And for the next 15 mins. Just clicking on his computer. Did not address me what time he would be able to start. This employee should really be fired. Please do not waste time going there.
