He Pulled the nerve for me, which was an inexpensive fix and I went back to college to find the cash for my root canal. Saved my molar when others wanted to just extract it! Fillings, root canals and caps! He is a caring , thoughtful and gentle doctor. And I'm lucky to have found him . They even have parking round back! I can't say that he will do the same for you I can just tell you what he's done for me. And he's changed my life with the dental work that he's done. For a very reasonable amount of money.

The trauma was such as a child that my mother would never tell me when we were going to the dentist. However, when we turned that corner and realization struck of our destination all hell would break loose. I would scream all the way to the dentist, in the dentist office, on the dentist chair and all during the appointment until we left and I was sure we were not going back. My phobia for the dentist did not improve through the years and my reluctance impeded my ability to do preventative oral care. I visited the dentist only when I had no other alternatives. Hence my visit with Dr. Nguyen on September 8, 2017, I. Had. No. Choice. I developed an infection in a broken root canal. The infection further advanced into a fistula and erupted draining into my mouth. To say I was in pain doesn't cover the half of it. The teeth had to be extracted, it could not be saved. Dr. Dang another fabulous dentist who did my initial exam referred me to Dr. Nguyen. Dr. Tom Manh Nguyen was fantastic. Number one, he listened while I blah blah about being terrified. He took the time to explain the procedure step by step. He told me what to expect in terms of discomfort. I elected to use laughing gas (nitrous oxide gas) and forgo Anesthesia which was too expensive. Dr. Nguyen went so far as to explain what the laughing gas will do, how it would feel. The only thing i felt was a slight pressure from the needle into the gum after that nothing. I know he was working on my mouth because i was conscious and could hear everything. He would reassure me periodically, "you are doing fine," "you are doing a good job," and will ask intermittently how I was doing. When he was finished I was surprised. I asked incredulously, "you're done?" He smiled and says, "Yes, I am all done." To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I sat through that whole procedure without a peep. I was able to get up with no pain and take myself home on the subway! Am I singing Dr. Nguyen praises, hell yeah! He did a fantastic job. Most doctors don't realize that outside of their procedures how they handle the patient is everything. You go in scared out of your mind and it does a world of good when you encounter a doctor that can reach you on that human level and let you know you will be alright. So if you have a phobia like I did and scared spit-less like I was then get a referral to Dr. Nguyen at Bloor Dufferin Dental on 1108 Bloor West, he'll take good care of you. If you are afraid of the dentist, look no further - you will love her as she actually makes the experience pleasant. Not only is her office extremely comfortable, it is super high tech, and you can tell right away that she really cares for the comfort of her patients. No dreaded "horse needle" that you normally associate with dentists - fillings generally don't require local anesthetic because she uses a special laser called Solea (one of I believe 2 offices in the entire city that has one) - and for instances that do require local anesthetic, she has this amazing device called "The Wand" that can numb one tooth at a time, and it doesn't look scary. But despite the fact that she has all these fancy gadgets, pricing is very reasonable, and she does not push unnecessary treatments. I had a night guard made, and not only is it very comfortable, but it was a lot less expensive than what my previous dentist quoted me. Also, my father, who lives out of town, recently had a dental emergency when in the city, and I suggested that he call Dr. Jecu's office instead of calling his old dentist here. Sure enough, she was able to get him in promptly - and he was extremely impressed as well. Also worth mentioning that Dr. Jecu does some of the regular cleanings herself - but her hygienist, Lis, is amazing too. Highly recommended!

From making the initial phone call to the appointment, every team member went above and beyond making sure you were comfortable - (offering tea,coffee or water while waiting!) If you're a nervous or anxious person, Dr.Jecu and the hygienists take the time to explain the procedures and are pleasant and patient if you need a break. The office itself is calming, the background music helps as does the ceiling decor : ) 10/10 recommend!

As they should of been, since I was paying thousands of dollars in a matter of 3 months into her business. 2 years later I am finding out just how bad the quality of her work was. Dr. Waldman never adjusted the set of my dentures to sit properly on my jaw. I am now paying again, to have a new set made as well as being in excruciating pain because of the damage done to my jawbone. Most dentures last 5 years before needing repairs, mine are being completely replaced.

I remember her saying to me "you're going to have these the rest of your life". Well, they lasted a few years - all of them. Each one fractured and needed to be replaced. In addition, she missed a little bit in the root canal and I had to have a specialist go in from the side and nip out the problem. I can't say whether or not crowns from a different lab would have made a big difference. But I can say this... dentists who aspire to give you full crowns for movie-star teeth are not looking out for your best interests. Rather than an overlay which has margins above the gumline where they get cleaned through brushing, full crowns have their margins at the gumline where flossing is necessary. I've never had any luck flossing the outside and inside of my teeth. Now the slightest of margin issue at the gumline means the trapping of food and decay working up underneath the crown. Surprise - you now need a new crown - after the tooth is removed and you have had an implant! Best of luck to those travelling this road...

His office will communicate via email which is wonderful, and sometime it will be Dr. Hao who follows up himself if he's checking on a particularly difficult tooth or recent surgery. His office has gone above and beyond to help me out when I have been in an emergency situation, I know they've stayed late or missed lunch hours for patients before. I've had many other dentists in the city, but this one is by far the best. I highly recommend Dr. Hao and the team at 720 Dental.

Dentists (and other medical professionals) usually keep you waiting for hours after your appointment time. Really annoying. But he has never been late so far, which I really appreciate. Service is great too. He takes plenty of photos to demonstrate what he is talking about. And he seems pretty honest too about what treatments you do and don't need. And also he sent a followup email after my last visit to check that there were no issues. Other staff there are very friendly too. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Dr. Frank Leung for a few years now for cleanings. He comes off as very…read moredisinterested and uncaring. He didn't want to do surgeries, x-rays, and avoided doing deep cleanings. At first I thought this was good as it seemed like he didn't do unnecessary and expensive operations on me, but after a while I realized he didn't really care and in my opinion, being lazy and coasting. I brought up issues with my gums, and he shrugged them off. For months he saw my gums were red. I told him days after cleanings they turn red, and he said to take peroxide to deal with it. He kept saying "the only way for me to know if there's an issue is if I check underneath the gums", without any intention to do a deep cleaning or x-ray or anything else. He says all the time about how he COULD do things, without any intention of doing it. How can I trust someone to do something if they aren't being serious about it or advising me I should do it? He has given me bad advice. He told me the incorrect way to floss, by flossing all the way down my gums as far as possible, which actually causes serious damage. Sometimes he even misunderstands when I'm explaining something to him, no matter how many times I try to clarify, he doesn't seem to be understanding it well. He's very old, and I think his listening and comprehension skills aren't what they were in the past based on these past reviews. I realize now my mistake was with him and am not seeing him anymore.

As an adult, I have decent teeth and most of the credit goes to him. He's located in the centre of Chinatown and I have fond memories of coming downtown from Mississauga and shopping after dentist appointments. Nowadays, I still go to Dr. Leung because if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
