I have had the pleasure of working with Pam Lawrence, Escrow Officer, of Oakwood Escrow twice on the sale of my Ramona home. Unfortunately, the first buyer didn't pan out, but through both escrows Pam and Oakwood were phenomenal partners. Everything was done professionally and seamlessly with amazing efficiency and accuracy. If I had a question about anything, Pam either had an immediate answer or got one quickly so we could continue moving forward. On one occasion, Pam even managed to get a notary on site at a property inspection so all parties could sign simultaneously. Pam's estimates were accurate and paperwork and payouts were timely. Somehow Pam managed to close our home on the same day that the buyers' home closed in another county. Our realtor didn't think this was possible, but Pam and Oakwood performed this miracle to our amazement and delight. We cannot say enough good things about Oakwood Escrow generally, and Pam Lawrence in particular. We closed on our home with Oakwood on June 23, and there was a $6k plus balance in the escrow account that has still not been returned. On top of that there were two other issues with our closing and the Escrow officer we are dealing with has not been very responsive and has provided inaccurate information on multiple accounts. 1. Prorated county taxes were incorrect at time of closing. 2. The refund check for the excess funds in the escrow account were sent to the wrong address. When officer was asked to confirm address they assured us that it was sent to correct address and implied that we had probably lost the check. Then on 2nd follow-up email she said that she insisted that the cover letter had the new address. The cover letter clearly has the old address, so it clear that she either purposely lied or did not check the address on the cover letter. Regardless, we closed on June 23rd and it is not July 18th and we still don't have the check. 3. A credit card account had to paid off through escrow. This payment was made to the wrong account. The details from this provided by the officer are again circumspect at best. On the 14th she sent an email saying that the check to the credit card company had cleared the Oakwood account but then on the 17th she said via email that they did receive a letter from the credit card company to confirm the account number. Later they provided a copy of the check that was sent and the account number was incorrect. We have wasted a lot of hours trying to remedy mistakes made by Oakwood, are still short funds that should be in our bank account, or are making payments to a credit card that should have already been paid off. An escrow company should be good with facts, figures, and documents. Clearly Oakwood is not! read more

Within the first few days I received a lot of correspondence and documents from Oakwood Escrow and learned my escrow officer was Pam Reifeiss.
