The plates after we ate everything.
    John H.

The food is very good, but their redesigned menu is very poor. First, there were no photos of any of the food. Don't most restaurants have photos so people can point to something sand say "I want that"? Over half of one column on page 1 was a list of salads and their description. Page 2 listed the meats: ribs, chicken, turkey, sausage, and so on. Yet there's no description about how the meats are cooked or a description of the sauces. Are they slow smoked for hours? Is there a special way they cook the meat? Why should I try the ribs? In fact, it was like the menu was trying to entice me into getting a salad. But the word "Smokehouse" is in the name of the restaurant, which implies "smoked meats". Aren't most people coming for the BBQ and not salad? And I overheard the waitress say to at least 3 tables (including ours), "Our special is the half rack combo which comes with a second meat and 2 sides. And let me explain some of the meat items since I know the menu is confusing." You know what- if the waitress has to say "the menu is confusing" during her introduction, then that probably means there's a problem with the menu. Anyway, I got the half rack combo, which she suggested, and it was great. The ribs were soft and came right off the bone, the pulled pork was great even without the sauce, and even better with the sauce. The fries were crisp and the mac and cheese was tangy. My wife got the full rack of ribs and it was great with and without the hot sauce. This is the second time we've been here and the ribs are consistently great. The waitress was quick to refill our drinks- we got sweet tea and she brought us plenty of lemons.

Exceptional Bar-B-Q at a great price. The turkey lunch plate could easily feed two people. The baked beans were fairly pedestrian and could use some seasoning. The cole slaw was excellent. The 25th Anniversary slab of ribs is an incredible bargain. The service was fantastic. The ambiance is old school crowded smokehouse.

Had lunch with a friend as it was here suggestion and it was not a bad experience. The hostess sat us right away and our server was nice, attentive, happy to answer any questions and checked on us. We ordered the half rack special for the day which included and extra meat, Texas toast 2 sides (corn salad and baked sweet potato) and the BBQ chicken which came with 2 sides (baked sweet potato and mac and cheese) and Texas toast. Everything was tasty and it kicked the BBQ craving. We will keep it on our rotation list.

The food was amazing. You felt like you were back on a farm and your grandma was in the kitchen and made it. the flavors, tenderness of the meats and the love that they put into it the seasonings the time that they allow their greens in their green beans just sit on the stove to soak up all of the meat flavors and seasonings is incredible. This is one of the reasons why they have lasted 25 years. They still do things the old-fashioned way your portions are amazing. The size of teacup they give you they don't have to fill it but one time because it's huge . The servers are joyful. You can see and hear them walking around how they got each other's backs they enjoy being there and working there. it is a good hometown restaurant to go to. on top of that they give you A huge glass of tea. There are pictures on the walls everywhere to go walk around the restaurant and look at of all the 25 years memories from family and friends, fishing hunting and then all the taxidermy of animals, gator heads, bobcats different types of fish All around the restaurant mounted for you to enjoy. this restaurant will definitely be around for another 25.

Always a solid stop when we're in the area and looking for a quick stop. The "fried" green beans are a killer app, and even though it's a smokehouse and their meats are good - I always go with the fish sandwich. Has a smoky flavor to it, and with plenty of lemon it really is the best thing on their menu. Nothing fancy at all here, just super friendly servers and some solid food in a hurry.

Disappointed This was hyped up a little and failed to live to the expectations. Ribs were okay but a bit under done. Baked beans were tasty Black-eyed peas were soaked in something not favorable Table sauce - I did not like either Sweet Tea was good.

I really wanted to love this place!…read more Myself, my mom and my grandma went here for the mad hatter themed pop up that's happening. When we arrived, there was one table left in the bar side, which had enough for 6 people. We asked if we could just grab that spot and the hostess had to go speak to the manager. She came back and informed us that we could not sit there, but instead in the adjacent restaurant (same menu) or the bar (my grandma is in a wheelchair), or wait but that it might be over an hour. Since we were a group of 3 we asked if we could split that table into 2 so we wouldn't use it all, additionally, we had driven over an hour for the pop up and really wanted to be in the themed area, but they insisted that they had to keep it open for any potential larger party that would come after us. My question is... couldn't that larger party that *might* come sit in the adjacent restaurant? We were after the lunch hour (around 2pm) and I get wanting to keep space, but this has literally never happened to me before anywhere I have been. Eventually, we were able to sit at that table (they didn't split it into 2, but we offered multiple times). No larger group came so there wasn't an issue with that... I mean it did all work out but the vibes were so weird and others should know the potential issues! We only got cocktails, and they were delicious! I loved the theming it was super cute and accurate! I think if I go back I would go alone so I could sit at the bar. There is plenty of parking available!

This location was suggested as they have an enclosed patio to avoid bugs, and it worked out great! The staff were remarkable and even brought an iced water for the dog without even asking! Appreciate that extra touch. What We Ordered: ~ Dockside Scallops (Appetizer): cooked beautifully, and paired with a sauce that complimented the scallops. Loved the citrus for acidity, while having the sweet chili for some spice. I can see this being delicious with rice and a vegetable for an entree, which they also offer. ~ The Big Cheese Burger (sub Cheddar versus American Cheese): Very delicious and a great price point for $15! Definitely left us satisfied as we cut in half to share the scallops as well. ~ Jumper Juice: only $5 all day, every day? Why not try! Though, I'm a vodka fan so this was not my liquor of choice. Still a very refreshing drink that I'm sure many would enjoy. ~ Coke: A classic for a burger, and tasted great on a hot, humid Florida day. Definitely a place I'd return when visiting in the area, and I can see trying the scallop entree or even getting a burger again. Great food, friendly service, and spacious location.

The waitress was terrific but when it came to the food, we both agreed we would not go back. Fish and Chips were ordered and it was mentioned that they tasted Frozen Long John from a box and the 2 fish pieces were small. We paid $1 extra for onion rings which looked good but needed seasoning aka salt. My patty melt was ok and I ordered it with fries which didn't come out with my meal. When the fries came they were fresh which I was happy about that but I needed to salt them for flavor. Went to use the ladies room before leaving and a 1 stall caused a traffic jam on a Saturday afternoon. Can't imagine what it would be like on a busy night. It was busy in there so if you are in the area, try it just don't order fish and chips.

Wow! What an amazing meal!!…read more I arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm, and unbeknownst to me, had just beaten the rush hour crowd that was lined up out the door when I left at 1:30pm! This place is a cool, converted house. I was led through the downstairs dining area, up the stairs to the second floor, through the second floor dining area, and into an adjoining room - the "Bar". This was one cool room. It consisted of several comfortable sofas on one side of the room, a few high top tables alongside a bookcase wall, and the attractive dark wood bar that could accommodate about 8 people. I was led to a high top table next to a wall of bookcases with all types of interesting literature, from novels to Encyclopedia Britannica. Almost immediately after sitting down, I was greeted by my server "Bre". She gave me a menu and took my drink order - coffee ($3), black, and a glass of water, TYVM. She returned within a few minutes with my coffee and water. The coffee was very good. For an appetizer, I decided to try their Irish Whiskey Onion Soup ($8), and for my main course, I went with their Cashew Chicken Montagu Sandwich ($15). My soup arrived and the "eye appeal" was only surpassed by the amazing taste! Caramelized onions, Irish Whiskey broth, and with Swiss and mozzarella cheese, this was absolutely, no doubt in my mind, The Best Onion Soup I've ever had!! I was just hoping no one was watching me eating it as it was a bit challenging with the long onions, but truthfully I didn't care because it was so good! My Cashew Chicken Sandwich arrived next, and with a dreadful feeling of an impending "let down" after such an amazing appetizer, I was just blown away after taking a bite of this masterpiece! Perfectly cooked, moist chicken breast with a cashew crust, brie mornay, cranberry-apple relish, on a brioche bun! Did you all see the photo I posted? Just Amazing!! So, after two home runs in a row, I'm thinking to myself, Who can come up with such amazing combinations? I mean seriously, What type of Mad and Brilliant Chef do they have working in the back kitchen?! Ha! (I'm sure the Chef isn't "Mad") I've hardly mentioned the Service, but Bre constantly checked on me, refilling my water twice, and my coffee three times, all the while asking me how I was enjoying my meal. The service couldn't have been any better. My only regret is that I had absolutely no room for dessert and I know it must be excellent Take this to the bank, For one of the best meals you can experience, come to The Goblin Market Restaurant! You can thank me later. 5+ Stars!! Hours of Operation: Monday Closed Tues-Thur. 11am-9pm Fri-Sat. 11am-10pm Sunday 11:30am-3:30pm

As much as I loathe @yelp because they censor and erase posts consistently, it is the only place to document such culinary malfeasance. So here goes. The food here was flat out terrible and insultingly overpriced. My little tiny 3 rib cluster was obviously par cooked at some other time, barely warmed up and thrown on a plate. The ribs were literally almost inedible. They were dry and tough, and I had to work pretty hard to pull them off the bone with my teeth. Some of the worst ribs I have ever eaten to be blunt. The green beans were unseasoned mush in a puddle of water, barely seasoned and barely warm, and the onion rings obviously came out of a bag in the freezer, undoubtedly from Sysco. Little tiny plastic forks, the cheapest you could possibly buy, accompany your meal. My dining companion had similar thoughts about his food. He had something like rib tips and called them dry and tasteless. The Macaroni & Cheese was the highlight which he gave a 3 out of a 10 and referred to as "edible." They have another location in Mt. Dora which is apparently closed indefinitely due to "vacation" or something, but based on this experience, I would steer wide and clear of both of them.
