Avoid at All Costs - Incompetent, Dangerous, and a Complete Ripoff If I could give Oasis "Luxury" Smart Homes zero stars, I would. Hiring them was one of the worst decisions we've ever made. They charged an outrageous $4,000 to install 25 feet of LED strip lighting, took three months to finish what should have been a simple job, and still failed to deliver anything remotely acceptable. The "work" (if you can even call it that) was a disaster from start to finish: Unbelievable Incompetence - It took multiple failed attempts, four visits over three months, my husband repeatedly meeting with them in person, and they still couldn't get it right. The LED strip in the master bedroom failed entirely, and their so-called "experts" clearly had no idea what they were doing, from design to execution. Major Safety Hazard - Most egregiously, their botched installation could have burned down our home. After notifying Oasis we could not trust them anywhere near this project any longer, we called in a REAL lighting professional, who promptly pulled out the wiring and showed us that Oasis' garbage installation with incompatible components resulted in a melted connector inside the wall. We'd smelled the burning for some time before the LED driver blew out, thankfully protecting us and our property from an electrical fire. Shocking Lack of Professionalism - Their team spray-painted indoors without any protection, leaving a mess on our floors, broke wires in the kitchen, and generally bumbled something every visit. Communication was abysmal. Repeated requests for updates over the life of the project were ignored. Meetings with their rep, Ben, were useless because he apparently couldn't wrap his head around the design, despite being provided visual aids, and the technicians didn't even follow the agreed-upon plan. Total Waste of Time & Money - After months of frustration and thousands of dollars wasted, we were left with a non-functional, dangerous installation. And despite their catastrophic failure, they had the audacity to send us an invoice for the remainder of the $4,000. This company is a bunch of clowns and a scam and a liability. Do not trust them with your home. If you value your safety, your time, and your hard-earned money, RUN in the opposite direction. ---------------- Clarification on the response below. There was NOT "quite a bit" of additional work. It was 6ft of lighting in the kitchen, 16.9 feet of lighting in the master and the materials necessary for both. Neither of these were some wild design that your industry has never heard of. Standard LED lighting. And the master bedroom was by far the larger of the two requirements. My husband asked MULTIPLE times as this project was going off the rails to speak with you. Never heard a thing. Maybe you should have a word with your staff. ALSO - our designer called you and had a conversation with you earlier this month to let you know how wrong this has gone and ask for your help. Did we hear from you then? Nope. So spare me the story that this is news to you. As for you reaching out, my husband just now found your response to our notice of dispute of the final invoice. Well after the project ended. It's really too little too late, unfortunately. Leadership was absent through this entire ordeal on every level. A refund and "We're terribly sorry" is indeed the only right answer here. ---------------- Update as of 2/24/2025: No surprise here - Justin and his team still haven't issued the refund they promised. Instead of taking responsibility, their response to this review was to try and bury it by creating a fake 5-star rating the very next day. Rather than making things right, they're focused on damage control. This speaks volumes about how they operate. If the owner can't own up to mistakes and do right by customers, what does that say about the integrity of the business? Think twice before trusting them with your money. read more

I had Oasis come out on June 20 to provide an estimate for converting my living room into a media room. A representative spent over an hour with me and my wife, discussing options and promising a proposal shortly thereafter. What followed was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I had to send four separate follow-up requests -- including one to their general sales email -- just to receive the estimate, which finally arrived 20 days later. And the proposal? For a single 98" Sony TV, a soundbar, and a few accessories, the quote came in at over $15,000, with a "discount" of four cents. Yes, $0.04. No full surround sound, no advanced system, no customization -- just inflated parts, padded labor, and insulting communication. This experience made it clear that Oasis either didn't want my business or had no intention of delivering value or professionalism. I expected expert guidance and a fair bid. What I got was silence, delays, and a tone-deaf proposal that felt more like a brush-off than an offer. Needless to say, I'll be taking my project elsewhere. DO NOT get Control4. We moved into a house that already had it and were told this company, who had set it up for the original owner, would transfer whatever was necessary over to us in a "welcome to your new home" appointment. Well, that appointment somehow grew into 3, took months, and cost $1000 for something that will never be used again. Appointments kept getting "scheduled incorrectly," taking way longer than was estimated, and then we got slapped with a bill way higher than was originally estimated. I really wish I had known something about Control4 because it's a dealer locked scam of a system, and in 2026, it's completely obsolete. Anything Control4 can do can be done by yourself using Home Assistant or other smart home systems, but you cannot do anything with Control4 without calling your dealer and paying money, even for the simplest things like adding a new device. I so dearly wish I never got involved with any of this at all. read more

We received Cox' new Contour box. After looking at 20 various wires, we called Cox to hook it up. Unfortunately our equipment was not compatible with the Cox equipment. Cox suggested we hire an A-V company to update our system. We requested several estimates. Desert Valley responded quickly and professionally. We called for an appointment and got one the next day. The specialist called when he was in the area and arrived shortly thereafter. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to update everything without issue. A big shout out to Desert Valley Audio Video! I have a very complex HT system featuring two power amps, a preamp, power generator, DAC, CD player, Blu-Ray, Apple TV, Roku, 2 sub bass systems and all in 5 speakers X out the subs. And a dedicated Mac Mini as my dedicated music server. Due to a massive home reconstruction project needed for my NEW home, the builder asked that I hire a team to uninstall and reinstall. Naturally, for a system such as mine I'd only consider using a CEDÍA certified installer. DVAV came up on the radar and must say, I couldn't be more pleased with the service. Carlos and Manuél arrived punctually for the uninstall and meticulously photographed the gear and documented every detail, measuring the cabinet and speakers to assure everything was put back in its original place. Two rooms requiring no work were set aside for storage into which Carlos and Manuél placed everything neatly organized, and upon completion of my project 10 days later, the same crew showed up and did an absolutely SUPERB job reinstalling my system. (Attempt this only if a trained professional). :-). Both installers were friendly and courteous. The office staff that facilitated this project couldn't have been nicer. This company is great. We had a tv in a bedroom that we wanted mounted and the wires hidden. That was completed promptly. In the family room, tv was mounted but we wanted the boxes and wires hidden for a cleaner look. That was a bit more complicated but we are pleased with the results. Carlos and Jeff were great. Carlos went the extra mile to tell us we didn't need an expensive controller and he adjusted the sound on our sound bar. I definitely would recommend this company for your audio/visual needs. We have used several AV companies to help us support our relatively complex AV system in our home. I give DVAV the highest grade possible because they are responsive, responsible, and their technicians are among the very best we have ever experienced. We upgraded our wifi to gigablast and that caused a few IP issues with our system-we called yesterday midday and they said they would send Vance out after he completed the call he was on. His other job didn't conclude until after 6 PM. Despite the late hour, DV contacted us (as did Vance, the tech) to confirm that we still wanted the service. We did and Vance came by and got us sorted out in about an hour. Vance is one of these guys that is an absolute master of his products. He is competent, in control, and made suggestions about how to optimize our system. Just as importantly, he is a really nice guy with a sense of humor. DVAV customer service has severely diminished over the years. We spent over 70K on a complete C4 home automation system, including A/V, lighting, security cameras throughout our home several years ago. After a few years of using them to routinely service our system, I went with another vendor because I was not getting quality and timely servicing on our very large system. My current vendor is no where to be found so I asked DVAV to service our system again. They booked an appointment for me 2 weeks out, only to get an email from Thomas Stewart, their general manager, flat out refusing to service the system they originally installed because I used another vendor! Hands down horrible customer service. For the ludicrous amount of money we spent on the initial systems and thousands more over the years to maintain it, I would expect to be treated much better. Thomas' email was cold and apathetic. If you are planning a large install, I would go somewhere else- there are better companies out there. read more

We had some work done by this place and I thought it was a complete mess. They installed 16 speakers tied into two jacks on the back of a basic stereo receiver. So, then that actually worked for a while and it sounded great until the equipment literally went up in smoke. Come to find out it was way overloaded and they took no responsibility for that AT ALL. They then wanted thousand of dollars to 'properly' setup this system with a large amplifier and they had never recommended any of this before. Once all these problems started they quit returning phone calls. Plenty of other places, I would not recommend this one. read more

He did an onsite consultation and we were immediately at ease as he walked us through our options. During the install he made sure to share different ways we might utilize the Control4 system. Desert Valley Audio Video originally set up our whole home theater, it was beautifully done. From time to time having an entirely wireless house (not including the home theater set up) things can go haywire. Do not fear, when you call for help they will be at your service immediately. I spoke to Issac who rearranged some appointments and is having someone come out today so I'm not stuck on one channel for several days. Issac is a class act and that was a classy move to treat me like I was their only customer. I couldn't be happier with their service. I also always have to give a special shout out and not forget Jeff who has done an amazing job getting me out of a jam before as well. We had this company attend to our house AV and TV set up, a big and complex project. There were some initial hick ups and the owner Justin stepped in and very professionally and personally managed the situations to our complete satisfaction. They did a good job overall with a promise to provide continued support. Now that did not happen! So far we have called them twice for a remote software upgrade. The appointments are at least a month or two in the future (which means business must be good). I also wanted to expand my system to add two new rooms and components. But then 2 days in advance they called and canceled the appointment and gave a new time. To my dismay, I had to go with it. So I rescheduled my work to stay home for the time window. Sure enough they didn't show up and called at the end of the time interval they had provided and asked to reschedule!!!! This is utter unprofessionalism and the definition of unreliable business practices. I am very disappointed. Disappointed. The other positive Yelp reviews led us to try to use them for a TV mounting but never got the chance due to lack of response. Called and spoke to one of the guys on two different occasions requesting to schedule the service and was told both times we'd be called back for the scheduling - this didn't happen either time. At that point we had to go with another one of the Yelp options. They may do good work but the two stars rating is due to the lackluster service/professionalism. read more
