Barceló Corralejo Bay - Barceló Corralejo Bay Hotel en el norte de Fuerteventura

Well located, comfortable ADULTS-ONLY hotel sited between the strip (10mins walk) and the beach…read more(5mins walk) in lovely gardens with two pools, plenty of sun beds, helpful, professional and friendly staff - it's definitely worth a try if you want to pamper yourselves. And the spa is fab - excellent massages, in/out pool facilities with sauna and steam room and a labyrinth of showers to stimulate your senses. Poolside activities, should you want to join in, and a well-appointed gym and fitness centre for those who want to keep fit. Oh, and did I mention it's adults-only?? Fab!

I was in Fuerteventura for work and stuck at this hotel for almost 2 months. Most of the people…read morethat work there are great. But I'm sorry to say this place is not as advertised. First off the Wi-Fi is slower than dial up and that's if you can get a signal. Not only that, it's all unsecured so anyone can grab your info with a basic scanner setup. Bartenders are great and very friendly. Jenni at the buffet is great. Some of the wait staff at the buffet is great, some not so good. Some of the front desk people are great too. But here are the things that kill this place. Housekeeping sucks. More than once I found dirty/stained sheets on my bed. The toilets were still dirty several times I came back from work. The maids would open my curtains and then remove the card and cutting off the room power. So I would come back from a hard days work to a ungodly hot room that took hours to cool down. The food is absolutely bland. Virtually no taste most of the time. For breakfast I would typically have a couple of glasses of orange juice and that's it. I'd stop on the way to work at Super Dino market and pick up something to eat. You know it's gotta be bad when someone passes on a free meal and would rather pay somewhere else. Never ate lunch at the hotel but heard from others it was just as bad. Dinner was hit or miss. Some nights they have fresh grill meat, that was good. But most everything else is bland and tasteless. I watched a cook drop a squeeze bottle of oil on the floor, pick it up, put it on the food prep surface and then prepare a burrito. Ewww. Also, they changed their dress code on my last night staying at the hotel. Did they email us? Nope. Did they put a flyer or notice in our room like they do before you check out? Nope. The only warning they gave was putting a note in the elevator. Well, I only took the elevator when I first arrived. I always take the stairs since I'm only on the second floor and the elevators take forever and make some really strange noises. I'd rather walk than get stuck thank you very much. On top of that, when I tried to have dinner wearing non-appropriate attire they forced me to enter from the side entrance like I was a second class guest. They can take my bosses money but treat me like dirt. The lady at the entrance claimed to be the manager and created a scene. It was my last night and it wouldn't have hurt anyone if I wore shorts. But apparently baseball hats, flip flops and shorts with holes in them is considered appropriate dress code. From the pics online, this place looked very nice, but when we arrived we saw that there are huge cracks in the walls, and painted over windows. This place definitely needs some work. Also, be prepared to line up like cattle in the morning to stake your claim on a chair by the pool. It's quite comical watching everyone jockey for position to get their favorite spot. But don't expect to be able to walk down to the pool and find a spot to lay out. They are all taken within minutes of taking the ropes down. Also, don't plan on coming back from the beach to dip in the pool. It closes way too early and I'd roped off. If you happen to get one of the rooms directly above the reception area be prepared to hear horrible cover bands every night until well past 11. I had to change rooms because the music kept me up all night and if the music didn't, the screaming and yelling from the guests at 2 am did. Overall I can't really recommend this place to anyone unless you like overpaying for subpar amenities and having rules changed on you mid stay with horrible, insecure Wi-Fi. So after leaving this review the next day my internet was mysteriously cut off. I guess the manager lady not only likes to make guests at the hotel for almost 2 months like they are second class but also want to try and prevent anyone of spreading the word of her failures. Well honey, you have failed miserably. Like I wrote before, most of the employees are super friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Hopefully upper management can get rid of the lady that claimed to be the manager last night and correct a major flaw. With a little work to this place and better food it could be really nice.

If…read moreyou also want a 5 star luxury hotel with multiple swimmingpools and restaurants, spa, fitness studio and some great hotel rooms, the Atlantis Bahia Real is your choice ... also because it is also the only 5 star hotel around here. But make no mistake, the entrace area is plastered with consequent hotel and experience awards. The service is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Most rooms have a sea view, although the are some with view of the pool area or the street. There are also family suites, so there will be children at the pool area. The Spa area is for adults only. There also is a large stretch of beach just at the hotel with a chill out lounge bar and a bistro bar belonging to the hotel. The beach itself is public.

We went in early September from rainy England. Totally in need of sun and relaxation, we were…read morehoping for a lovely resort. And we found it. We ended up in an ocean facing junior suite that was also very close to the entrance to the pool area and buffet. PERFECTION. The suite: 1. The view was lovely. Gorgeous. 2. Comfy couch to sit on while my husband was napping or showering or doing his own thing. 3. Very comfy and HUGE bed with nice linens. 4. Bathroom shower was so wonderful and strong. We seriously took two to three showers a day (it might be because our current shower is awful). 5. Bathroom products were lovely. 6. High ceilings, great light, wonderful closets, etc. I can't think of a negative thing about the suite. Pool: There are three pools. One is for little kiddos. Very cute. As there weren't a lot of little ones around at this time it was quite quiet. The second is a larger pool which appeared to be slightly salty and colder than the third pool. Very refreshing after heating up in the sun. Third pool was cool but comfortable and a nice size. There were plenty of seating areas around the pool at this time, though I can imagine it could get packed at the height of the season. Breakfast buffet: Amazing choice. You can get omelettes cooked to your own specification or choose so many other types of meals. And free prosecco was flowing. Yes, I took advantage! I felt like I never ran out of a different sort of food to eat every day. Dinner: We chose not to go half-board, but did go to one of the dinner buffets. It was lovely. Like the breakfast buffet there was a huge amount of choice and the food was quite good. You did have to pay separately for wine (even if you were on the 'meal plan') from what I could tell, but the meal itself was not a bad price for what you got. We also went to one of the speciality restaurants, Las Columnas, which is the Spanish restaurant. We had the 8 course tasting menu. It was very special and I'd recommend it. The Spa: We spent a lot of time at the spa. You get to go for free once a day and we did. We spent a lot of time in the indoor pool where there are bubbling and spraying things that just relax your body and shoulders. There are saunas, hot tubs, etc. You can also arrange and pay for things such as massages & manicures. We both got a massage and it was one of the best we've had. Not inexpensive, but worth it (London prices for sure). The only downside to the entire place was the beach - not really meant as a place to swim, but it's good for relaxation. You can get a drink delivered to your chair, which is a nice touch. We choose instead to head south to other beaches via bike (though you could easily walk). So, there it is. My review. Go there. Definitely. Go. And relax!

I recently stayed at RIU Oliva and came away with mixed feelings. The experience started very well…read more After arriving from the airport, I was greeted by warm and welcoming staff and checked into my room within about 15 minutes. The room was very clean, and overall cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. However, the hotel itself feels dated. The furniture looks like something from the 1970s, the beds are extremely firm, the room phone did not work, and the Wi-Fi signal inside the room was almost nonexistent. I often had to sit on the balcony just to get a connection. The location is one of the hotel's strongest points. The beach is only minutes away, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The pools were also clean, although colder than expected. Corralejo is only a short taxi ride away, and for around €10, you can reach downtown, where you'll find plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. As for the food, it was acceptable but not particularly memorable. There was always something to eat, but nothing stood out. One thing I found unusual was that condiments such as ketchup and mustard were placed in shared bowls. If you weren't among the first guests served, it wasn't the most appealing setup. Drinking water was only available in cups, and there were no complimentary water bottles in the rooms, although a nearby store made this less of an issue. The staff were inconsistent. Some employees were exceptionally kind and helpful, while others came across as rude and unpleasant. At one point, I was asked to leave the cafeteria during lunch because I had not been given a wristband, which was frustrating since that was not my mistake. Another downside was the operating hours. Most facilities, including the gym, did not open until 8:00 AM. As someone who likes to work out and have coffee early in the morning, this was disappointing and disrupted my routine. Overall, RIU Oliva offers an excellent location, outstanding cleanliness, and some very friendly staff. On the other hand, the aging facilities, unreliable Wi-Fi, inconsistent service, limited operating hours, and average food keep it from being a truly great experience. It's not a bad place to stay, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Rooms and all other parts are…read morejust old also there is no pool with heated water for kids as it was mentioned in hotel information provided by Tui. It was one of the reasons why we choose this place. We wanted that our little one could have a fun but unfortunately the water was to cold for him. Anyway everything else was perfect. The stuff working in the hotel is extremely nice and helpful. We got help every single time we asked for. Also cleaning stuff very friendly. Not a bad food. Everyone can find something. Keanu changed every day so we could to try different things. Rooms are old but clean. Hotel has a to view form the balconies and one is sunny other not what can cause a little cold during night. The view of the dunes beautiful and definitely worth to stay in this hotel at least one time. The main problem is transportation. With a little kid you need or rent a car, or use taxi, bus to get to Corralejo. It's more for staying at the resort area. The was some activities like yoga or volleyball. I'm not a huge fan of all inclusive but in this place everything works good. Most of the guests are elder German, British and some Italian and Polish families. For parents with kids I recommend bungalow because it happened to us that German old woman was complaining about our baby crying in the main building. It was bit surprising because it's family hotel not adults only. But bungalows area looks more kids friendly also restaurant. As I said the view and location for people who doesn't want to go anywhere is amazing. Also beach is breathtaking. Quality is equally to the price. In November the hotel is going to be renovated as we were informed before leaving. The wifi is only in the lobby, restaurants and by the pool. No wifi in the rooms.
