We take our old English sheep dog to Oasis for grooming about twice a year. He is a bit stubborn but the crew at Oasis seems to have a way with him. He always seems happy to get there. First, the good: the price was reasonable ($21/night) and it was easy to make a reservation. This was the first time I'd boarded my dog and when I arrived I was asked to fill out paperwork with contact info and vaccination information. I was not asked any information about my dog aside from his name and if he took medication. There was no place to fill in feeding information, and I had to inform the girl working that I had brought food for him and when and how much he eats. I was not allowed to see the facilities where he would be staying, was not informed if he would have time with other dogs. I shouldn't have left him in the first place, but I did. When I picked him up was given no information about how his stay was, if he'd had any problems, etc. He smelled like he'd had an accident in his kennel and been wiped down (?) and seemed very agitated. I had brought toys and an old sweater of my husbands for comfort in his kennel while we were away, when I picked him up they were still in the bag with no indication that they had been given to him. I imagine he spent the entire time in boarding alone, as well, but I wouldn't know since no one working offered me any information. Overall it was a pretty typical boarding experience from what I've seen with my other dogs in the past, but the thing that it lacked was any customer service, personal care or consideration for the dog or dog owner. At least PRETEND to care about me and my dog when I drop him off. Will not be returning. read more

This is a great place to leave your pets while on vacation. We have been using them for almost ten years with no problems. Andy and a small group of young women work there and they all love animals. Our two cats love to stay there because they play with them and let them go out into the gazebo when it's sunny outside. The Oasis also does grooming of dogs but we don't own dogs. I can't think of any negatives associated with the Oasis. read more

I am so grateful to Oasis Pet Resort for going above and beyond my request to watch my dog Juneau at the last minute. We are from out of state and were really struggling to find somewhere for our dog to stay while we were skiing. I explained my situation to Kate and she came up with the perfect solution, which was affordable and so convenient. My dog was happy and healthy when I picked her back up three days later. I have had my dogs boarded and groomed at Oasis Pet Resort for the past 11 years. For several years, my dogs and I traveled both domestically and internationally. I can say, without reservation, that Oasis is the finest facility I've ever seen. I have been given a tour of the facility when the staff was not busy caring for their "guests". I appreciated that the boarding animals were first priority. Oasis provides each dog with a run, not just a cage where they sit cramped. In addition, I have seen the dogs outside in the fresh air runs when weather permits. This outside area even has a sun protector to ensure that the dogs do not get too hot! I have NEVER smelled urine when I was in the boarding area. Andy, the owner, and his staff are diligent in keeping the facility in top notch condition. Gabriel, now a "senior" Bichon Frise, has several food issues and requires a specially prepared diet. The staff were very diligent in following the guidelines I brought to them. (I believe that it in MY responsibility to notify them of special needs.) Both of my dogs required knowledge of high grooming standards. Dinah was a Cairn Terrier (she passed into Doggy-heaven a few years ago.) My Bichon Frise not only is difficult to keep groomed (his hair is VERY curly) but he also has several growths that need to be avoided when grooming. Andy has gone to great pains to groom around those delicate areas. Seriously, I could not be more pleased with Oasis Pet Resort and its staff. Without hesitation, I rate Oasis as a 5 star facility. read more

Our puppy - 6 months - stayed here while we went skiing at Jay Peak. The attendant was very nice, welcoming, answered all our questions. Facilities are new and clean. Our dog was very happy when we picked her up. All good. read more

We have trusted Oasis w/our dogs for years, and never had a problem. Our dogs are happy to jump out of the car and rush in- and waggy when we pick them up. Every effort seems to have been made for their comfort- and Andy (and co) will go out of their way, with regard to feedings, special comforts, that we request. We had a horrendous experience w/a kennel in upstate New York- so we know how lucky we are to have Oasis, right in town. Our dogs are our family, so I don't write this lightly. Our only 'bummer' is that it is a bit pricey. But I believe they are right on w/the going rate. read more

I am really grateful to have Oasis in Newport, Vt: My dog charges into the boarding facility as soon as I open the car door. He's waggy to go in and waggy to come out. He does both day boarding and overnight multi-days. He wags enthusiastically to the owner and the two wonderful staff-- they washed his leash out of the blue for me and did a great job just mixing new food in with old. (They also sell a very nice brand of food and supplies..) My dog is an athletic breed and Oasis folks make sure he gets exercise in their back acreage and they bring their own dogs here at work, too. Each time I go there I learn something new that Andy designed into the place-- from hygiene systems to comfort. I just learned that their kennels have radiant heat floors during the cold months; Mmm, I could board myself there ;) Thanks, Oasis.
