I became interested in it after doing a lot of research on the manifestation of trauma in the brain and the body, and I felt like the principles behind hypnotherapy was supported by the modern day science. My experience with Michael Nolan *Disclaimer*: I'm trying to be as transparent as possible, but it's entirely possible that your experience will be completely different than mine. We spent the first hour talking about what I was trying to work on, which was my relationship with my parents. Michael has a very calming presence. We talked about the role of my feelings, the different neurological pathways that impact the way I feel, and how those pathways are shaped by events in early development. It was by far the most helpful one hour lecture on neuroscience I've ever had. Michael combines science with spirituality in a way that completes the picture. In the second hour, I was put into a relaxed state. I usually have trouble relaxing anywhere that's not my bed but I found myself able to relax fully here. We worked on changing my feelings around negative events. Afterwards, we discussed what I felt and Michael gave me recommendations on resources to check out. After the treatment, I remained in a state of blissful relaxation for about a day. However, even when the relaxed state was no longer there and I started feeling the negative feelings again, I was able to recognize the feeling and understand why it was there, which was highly valuable for me. My advice for getting the most out of the experience Everyone's journey to healing is different. As great as the experience was, I don't think you should go into it with the expectation that it is a miracle drug which will solve all your problems but rather think of it as a puzzle piece which helps you gain a better understanding of yourself. I decided to purchase an intro credit pack from Trove as soon as I heard they were opening. I decided to take a morning meditation class this week during their first week of opening. Upon entering the space, you feel a sense of calmness and luxury. IYou are greeted by staff who check you in and then show you the space and guide you to the lockers/washroom area. Each locker is equipped with a robe and slippers for you to wear (no outdoor shoes are allowed inside). The common seating area is free to enjoy before and after your classes/treatment as well where there is tea/water for you to enjoy. To my surprise, I was the only person in the morning meditation class. This was a nice bonus as it was pretty much like a private session with the instructor. The meditation room is complete with all the props you need for your practice. The 55 min meditation class flew by and I felt a sense of calmness, peace, and renewed energy after my practice. I decided to enjoy the space where I had some tea while sitting in the common area, looking at the fire centrepiece they had in the middle of the room. As I opened the door to leave Trove, I was hit with the busy sounds and sights of Toronto. This made me want to turn right back around to retreat back into the calmness and serenity of the space created at Trove. Overall, Trove is a beautiful space that provides a variety of services and products to improve your well-being.
