This was our first time eating at Oaxaca Restaurant in Selma but it won't be out last! Everything on the menu looks good! I got a the Tamale Oaxaquenos and I can honestly say it's one of the best tamales I've had in a long time. Not to mention it's huge and I was able to take a good amount home. My daughter had a chicken burrito with rice and beans and really enjoyed it as well! The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions and the manger was very welcoming! We'll be back again soon!

    Brunch! Asada torta and horchata!

Wonderful family here at Oaxaca! I love hearing the staff laugh and have a good time while on the clock. I have passed by Oaxaca for my entire life and when I finally decided to try them out I was sad to know I missed out on them for so many years. Their meals and portions are hardy and inexpensive, perfect for anyone balling on a budget. (I have given 2 stars for taste/flavor of torta and horchata)

Excellent little gem in Selma! Came in for lunch on a Wednesday and had the whole place to myself. Very pleased with the extensive menu. Not your usual fare at all. I had the Nopal Zapoteco. The Tasajo (marinated beef) was very flavorful. Service was perfectly pleasant and my server nicely explained the menu items I was unfamiliar with. Prices very reasonable. Will return.

    Gotta love Frieda.

Not your typical Mexican food. First, the best iced tea I've had in forever. With key limes, it's perfect with this food. Next, the Negro Mole---not overly sweet. I enjoyed the tamale very much. The home-made corn tortillas delighted my date. It's a small place, not glam, but clean & we had a nice time.

Was in Selma for business, heard the hype about Sals went there before not impressed, walked in today at Oaxaca Restaurant was very amazed, as soon as I walked in you feel and see your at a Mexican Restaurant. The Mole Negro con Pollo was so good; the coke is from Mexico bottled and yes true Mexican restaurants use Homemade tortillas and they do. Will take advantage of this place when I happen to be in Selma again.

I have been there twice and both times it has been delicious. The homemade tortillas take it to the next level!

Food was ok. Disappointed at the size of chips/salsa AND…read morethey charge extra for any addition chips.... Since when do Mexican restaurants do that???? Any ways it's a cute place and decorated very authentically. I really liked that.

We were looking for a good spot that was central to us all. We were coming from Dinuba, Reedley,…read moreSanger, Kingsburg and Fresno. Selma seemed like the natural central location. Next thing, where to go. Selma has many iconic restaurants -Sal's, Rosalinda, Antonio's. But I had never heard of Rodolfo's. It came highly recommended by a few of us attending, so we gave it a go. One thing we had going for us is that we had a man on the inside who could hook it up. I was hoping it meant free food, but that wasn't the case. But we did get our own private room, so that was nice. Some recommendations were made, but I was split between the nopales, chile verde nachos, Rodolfo's special, Selma special and chile verde plate. In the end, I went with the namesake Rodolfo's special. I was told that the taco it came with, the Selma taco, was named such, because it won a taco competition in Selma. All the more reason to try it, right? Didn't have high expectations for the chile verde chicken enchiladas, but I like chile verde and enchiladas, so why not. Service was quick. In no time we were all served and chowing down. My plate was very hot and I could still hear the meat in my tacos sizzling, so I wisely started with the enchilada. The flavor was great, my only issue was the chicken, because it did chicken things that chicken does. But it was still good, don't get me wrong. After that, I waited on my taco to cool down. Yeah, it was that piping hot. It was good, but not great. I think it was the partially fried tortilla. It's something that they have to do though, given how loaded the taco is. A limp tortilla would not be up to the task. I know some people like some structure to their taco. I don't mind getting down and dirty. Personal preference. I have to say, the middling reviews had me a bit worried. Getting VIP service ensured that we were taken care of though. Side note experience that I didn't have. A friend felt like he got overcharged. $16.95 dinner plate with water and his bill came out to $24. He didn't want to make a thing about it. It wasn't that big a deal for him. But for others, it could be. All in all, we had a good time. Our server was nice. They gave the 9 of us our own private room. My buddy probably broke their door and they just laughed about it. Your experience may vary but this was mine.

Then the day comes when you say 'screw it' and finally decided to go in, only to get blown away. Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened in my case. I finally decided to go in and check it out after hearing many good things about and it was AMAZING. The attendants behind the counter super courteous and sweet, heck, I felt like the most important person in there. A nice atmosphere despite having to remove their dinning area due to COVID, but from what I saw, it carried a good ambiance. Anyways, I got to the counter and ordered my food (shrimp fries), waited a bit and then was given it. Right away I could SMELL the shrimp and boy was my mouth watering. Ugh-- totally swooned right then and there. It was really hard to resist the urge of just sitting in my car and eating the whole thing right there. Nevertheless, I made it home in the end with my precious package intact and it was still friggin piping hot. So much shrimp was packed into along with gooey cheese and some sort of sauce. I didn't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was a massive portion too. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish it all in one go, but that only meant I'd have more for later! All in all, l LOVED the experience and I LOVED the food. I will definitely be stopping by here again!
