This was our first time eating at Oaxaca Restaurant in Selma but it won't be out last! Everything on the menu looks good! I got a the Tamale Oaxaquenos and I can honestly say it's one of the best tamales I've had in a long time. Not to mention it's huge and I was able to take a good amount home. My daughter had a chicken burrito with rice and beans and really enjoyed it as well! The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions and the manger was very welcoming! We'll be back again soon!

    Brunch! Asada torta and horchata!

Wonderful family here at Oaxaca! I love hearing the staff laugh and have a good time while on the clock. I have passed by Oaxaca for my entire life and when I finally decided to try them out I was sad to know I missed out on them for so many years. Their meals and portions are hardy and inexpensive, perfect for anyone balling on a budget. (I have given 2 stars for taste/flavor of torta and horchata)

Excellent little gem in Selma! Came in for lunch on a Wednesday and had the whole place to myself. Very pleased with the extensive menu. Not your usual fare at all. I had the Nopal Zapoteco. The Tasajo (marinated beef) was very flavorful. Service was perfectly pleasant and my server nicely explained the menu items I was unfamiliar with. Prices very reasonable. Will return.

    Gotta love Frieda.

Not your typical Mexican food. First, the best iced tea I've had in forever. With key limes, it's perfect with this food. Next, the Negro Mole---not overly sweet. I enjoyed the tamale very much. The home-made corn tortillas delighted my date. It's a small place, not glam, but clean & we had a nice time.

Was in Selma for business, heard the hype about Sals went there before not impressed, walked in today at Oaxaca Restaurant was very amazed, as soon as I walked in you feel and see your at a Mexican Restaurant. The Mole Negro con Pollo was so good; the coke is from Mexico bottled and yes true Mexican restaurants use Homemade tortillas and they do. Will take advantage of this place when I happen to be in Selma again.

I have been there twice and both times it has been delicious. The homemade tortillas take it to the next level!

Even now, whenever I have a reason to pass through town, I make it a point to stop by. The food has always been consistently delicious, with generous portions and flavors that keep me coming back year after year. What makes this place special, though, is that it's a true family-owned business with deep roots in the community. In a world where so many local restaurants have come and gone, it's great to see a place with so much history continue to thrive. Sal's is one of those restaurants that feels like a part of Selma itself. Great food, great people, and decades of memories. Highly recommended.

I feel we should've been seated at a regular table since it was a little squished. There was a lot of options on the menu to choose from. The waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink. Everyone got water and one also got a diet soda. We also got complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy and the salsa was your average salsa. I decided to get 2 item combination plate. I got the tamale and the ground beef enchilada. The plate comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. The portion would fill up someone who was hungry. Some of the people at the table had taken some leftovers home. The Spanish rice had flavor. The refried beans was average. Tamale was a litte dry so decided to put some salsa or the enchilada sauce on it. The enchilada was good. If you want a filling meal for a reasonable price, then this restaurant is a good option.

Then the day comes when you say 'screw it' and finally decided to go in, only to get blown away. Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened in my case. I finally decided to go in and check it out after hearing many good things about and it was AMAZING. The attendants behind the counter super courteous and sweet, heck, I felt like the most important person in there. A nice atmosphere despite having to remove their dinning area due to COVID, but from what I saw, it carried a good ambiance. Anyways, I got to the counter and ordered my food (shrimp fries), waited a bit and then was given it. Right away I could SMELL the shrimp and boy was my mouth watering. Ugh-- totally swooned right then and there. It was really hard to resist the urge of just sitting in my car and eating the whole thing right there. Nevertheless, I made it home in the end with my precious package intact and it was still friggin piping hot. So much shrimp was packed into along with gooey cheese and some sort of sauce. I didn't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was a massive portion too. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish it all in one go, but that only meant I'd have more for later! All in all, l LOVED the experience and I LOVED the food. I will definitely be stopping by here again!
