Try the guacamole sauce. Has a just enough chile flavor. NO COMPLAINTS

Went back for ANOTHER ROUND OF FRESH HOT FLAVORFUL FOOD. AND IT WAS HOT. Wife ordered: 2 item meal enchilada and chile relleno. Me: 2 item with chicken taco and switched my taco to asada meat.(AND HOW DARE THEY MAKE IT THE SIZE OF A PERSONAL PIZZA) Granddaughter: Ordered quesadilla kids meal She couldn't eat it all but she said it's her favorite. Good customer service. Clean restaurant. Salsa bowls too small. BUT GOLLY TO HECK IT TASTES GOOD AND FRESH. Add cilantro. Even water tastes good. No mildew flavor no after taste. I told my wife I would move to Selma for this restaurant. lol. MAKING IT MY GO TO SPOT EVERYYYY DAY.

Chile Verde wet burrito

Recently went in for a late meeting with a friend and loved the food. I had the wet Chile verde burrito and it was amazing. The Chile verde was perfect, just the right amount of spice and full of flavor. The waitress was very friendly and helped us while ordering with recommendations. Definitely will be going back.

The menudo here is delicious I highly recommend this place if you want some Mexican food. Its a friendly atmosphere.

We were starving and stopped in here to grab an order to go. It can always be a bit award making to-go orders at old-style restaurants with no app but we were not in the mood for "fast food". The parking lot is a bit small and after we parked, someone literally blocked us in (no fault of the establishment and I handled it) just be advised. I ordered a 2 chicken taco combo meal and my husband had the Mojado Burrito which came to around $35 for the both of us. I was also quite excited about the large portions. Unfortunately, we were really amazed at how bland the food was. The tacos had chicken, cold shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato and that was all, there was no sauce or flavor and the rice and beans were the same. I don't even think they used salt or pepper on anything. My husbands burrito looked a bit more promising with the sauce, but he said it was the most flavorless burrito he has ever had. That being said, if you are really hungry and you are the type to carry some siracha or tapatio in your purse, you may very well enjoy this spot more than I did.

Shredded beef crispy tacos

Raised in Selma but my first time at La Estrella was yesterday! I have been missing out. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. Nice dining area, lots of booth seating. We came in right at lunch time. Ben tried a burrito and I tried their crispy tacos. All delicious! Ben said the chili verde in the burrito could have been spicier but it was perfect for me. Loved the crispy, shredded beef tacos. Stuffed! Full of beef and a ton of cheese on top. Two were more than enough. I'd like to keep trying more of their menu. We're on dry January but it looked like they had a good selection of beers and micheladas too! Great service and food.

Menudo!

Went there for my mother's birthday because she likes the menudo there. 14 of us drove up to celebrate her birthday. We just showed up and they put us all in the back room. The two young people serving were champs. The food was good and huge portions. Menudo was great and I really enjoyed my eggs and chile verde. We'll go back next time we are in town again.

This Our first time and it definitely won't be the last! All u can eat menudo w all the fixings! It was a small wait but again definitely worth it! The food around us looks amazing! I'm already planning our next visit I can't wait to try the Micheladas w enchiladas, beans and rice Our service was great!

They FORGOT to ADD my OVER EASY EGGS!

Happy New Year! 1/01/24 I wanted menudo so I placed a Togo order. When I got home I noticed majority of menudo had fat on most of it and I ordered two! So both menudos were pretty much the same. It looked like they didn't trim it correctly and not to mention very little hominy! The flavor was good. My husband did end up eating it but, I couldn't eat it. I also ordered over easy eggs with chilaquiles with a side of rice and beans but there was NO EGGS! I did call to tell them about the eggs and they said I can go back and pick up the 2 eggs I said never mind it's okay and hung up. I definitely will not be a returning customer.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Their shrimp coctel is loaded with shrimp. The chicken flautas are also delicious.

Food is bland and the price is too much for no flavor. They need some salt in their beans for sure! And some real fresh salsa!

Even now, whenever I have a reason to pass through town, I make it a point to stop by. The food has always been consistently delicious, with generous portions and flavors that keep me coming back year after year. What makes this place special, though, is that it's a true family-owned business with deep roots in the community. In a world where so many local restaurants have come and gone, it's great to see a place with so much history continue to thrive. Sal's is one of those restaurants that feels like a part of Selma itself. Great food, great people, and decades of memories. Highly recommended.

I feel we should've been seated at a regular table since it was a little squished. There was a lot of options on the menu to choose from. The waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink. Everyone got water and one also got a diet soda. We also got complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy and the salsa was your average salsa. I decided to get 2 item combination plate. I got the tamale and the ground beef enchilada. The plate comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. The portion would fill up someone who was hungry. Some of the people at the table had taken some leftovers home. The Spanish rice had flavor. The refried beans was average. Tamale was a litte dry so decided to put some salsa or the enchilada sauce on it. The enchilada was good. If you want a filling meal for a reasonable price, then this restaurant is a good option.

We were looking for a good spot that was central to us all. We were coming from Dinuba, Reedley,…read moreSanger, Kingsburg and Fresno. Selma seemed like the natural central location. Next thing, where to go. Selma has many iconic restaurants -Sal's, Rosalinda, Antonio's. But I had never heard of Rodolfo's. It came highly recommended by a few of us attending, so we gave it a go. One thing we had going for us is that we had a man on the inside who could hook it up. I was hoping it meant free food, but that wasn't the case. But we did get our own private room, so that was nice. Some recommendations were made, but I was split between the nopales, chile verde nachos, Rodolfo's special, Selma special and chile verde plate. In the end, I went with the namesake Rodolfo's special. I was told that the taco it came with, the Selma taco, was named such, because it won a taco competition in Selma. All the more reason to try it, right? Didn't have high expectations for the chile verde chicken enchiladas, but I like chile verde and enchiladas, so why not. Service was quick. In no time we were all served and chowing down. My plate was very hot and I could still hear the meat in my tacos sizzling, so I wisely started with the enchilada. The flavor was great, my only issue was the chicken, because it did chicken things that chicken does. But it was still good, don't get me wrong. After that, I waited on my taco to cool down. Yeah, it was that piping hot. It was good, but not great. I think it was the partially fried tortilla. It's something that they have to do though, given how loaded the taco is. A limp tortilla would not be up to the task. I know some people like some structure to their taco. I don't mind getting down and dirty. Personal preference. I have to say, the middling reviews had me a bit worried. Getting VIP service ensured that we were taken care of though. Side note experience that I didn't have. A friend felt like he got overcharged. $16.95 dinner plate with water and his bill came out to $24. He didn't want to make a thing about it. It wasn't that big a deal for him. But for others, it could be. All in all, we had a good time. Our server was nice. They gave the 9 of us our own private room. My buddy probably broke their door and they just laughed about it. Your experience may vary but this was mine.

Then the day comes when you say 'screw it' and finally decided to go in, only to get blown away. Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened in my case. I finally decided to go in and check it out after hearing many good things about and it was AMAZING. The attendants behind the counter super courteous and sweet, heck, I felt like the most important person in there. A nice atmosphere despite having to remove their dinning area due to COVID, but from what I saw, it carried a good ambiance. Anyways, I got to the counter and ordered my food (shrimp fries), waited a bit and then was given it. Right away I could SMELL the shrimp and boy was my mouth watering. Ugh-- totally swooned right then and there. It was really hard to resist the urge of just sitting in my car and eating the whole thing right there. Nevertheless, I made it home in the end with my precious package intact and it was still friggin piping hot. So much shrimp was packed into along with gooey cheese and some sort of sauce. I didn't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was a massive portion too. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish it all in one go, but that only meant I'd have more for later! All in all, l LOVED the experience and I LOVED the food. I will definitely be stopping by here again!
