The people here are just rude. They made me feel uncomfortable in my body. As some background I have multiple types of anxiety. I brought this up in the first 5 mins of my appt. with Lydia Alexander. She was over all just very rude. She made me feel like having my IUD remover was irresponsible and almost like it shouldn't be my choice. I chose to remove my BC because I get infections way more than before I got it. She pushed me to choose a new bc which I am not prepared for I need to do research and she talked to me like I don't have basic knowledge of my own body. Lydia along with one of the front desk staff made me feel very uncomfortable. I doubt I will be returning. For younger ladies probably not the place to go they made me feel like shit for wanting to improve my life. :,( PS I actually had nightmares after this appt. about get getting pregnant. read more

I had my first appointment here after transferring from the University. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions. I got right in and out. I liked the doctor I saw and also enjoyed the music being played in the rooms. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. read more

Everyone is very nice. Doctor is very quick. I do have to ask if my fibroid tumor is growing. Otherwise she doesn't say anything. I do feel like I'm not getting the best checkup. My previous doctor was great she made you feel like she cared. read more

Looking for a clinic and group of physicians to care for me through my pregnancy, I decided to check out OBGYN Associates. Confusingly, there's also an OBGYN Associates in Cedar Rapids which is totally unrelated to this practice. I was excited that the Cedar Rapids practice is not affiliated with any specific hospital but has privileges at several hospitals, so you can pick where you want to deliver and your doctor will meet you there. Exactly what I wanted, but this Coralville practice is affiliated with Mercy so does not follow that method. This is not very clear on their website and definitely a letdown. With my appointment already scheduled, I decided to give it a try anyway. When I questioned why they weren't giving me an ultrasound, they explained it was because I'd told them I had one at my 7 week appointment when I was previously at the UI clinic. This took me by surprise since that ultrasound was a pro bono - I was in fertility treatment at UI and at a higher risk of things going wrong. This meant that I'd have to wait until my 20 week appointment for my next one - three months after my initial ultrasound. I still don't understand why they didn't want to see for themselves that everything was okay, especially since I was requesting and willing to pay for it. The biggest thing that made me question what their long-term care would be like was that they didn't ask to have my records transferred from my previous clinic, so they were going into my care with no knowledge of my former health history. No questionnaire about our family's history of genetic diseases, no discussion of what I should or shouldn't be eating... all things the UI clinic discussed with me the second I transferred back to them. Even they found it odd that I hadn't had a sit-down with a nurse over at OBGYN Associates. But! Superficially I did like that this clinic has a smaller number of obstetricians so you're likely to meet everyone during your prenatal care - a major perk since on delivery day, your delivering doctor is sure to be a familiar face. Plus the clinic is gorgeous with a modern and zen design. read more
