The sound of a car door shutting would send him scrambling for the hills. After three weeks in the Board & Train program, his confidence had skyrocketed. He is still a naturally nervous dog, but the team at Solid K9 gave him a base level of confidence which I could simply never have provided him in a very short amount of time. They gave us the tools to work together and communicate. I recently went on vacation and dropped my dog off at the board and play program for the first time since his training. I figured my dog would obviously be nervous and bummed to leave me, but the second he saw the trainers his tail started blasting back and forth like a windshield wiper and he completely forgot who I was. He ran off into the kennel area without even saying goodbye. After that performance my vacation was 100% guilt-free. The orientation, which cost nearly $50, felt like a waste of time. I was treated like a beginner and walked through the basics of how to use a clicker and give a dog a treat. I understand people need instruction, but this could've easily been covered in 10 minutes, especially for someone who has common sense. The bigger issue, however, is their 60-day expiration policy on class packages. I only got to attend two classes before my package "expired" on December 9th. I reached out on December 30th after being unable to sign up for a class and was told that they only extend passes for medical reasons (illness or injury). When I asked if they could extend my package by 60 days (since I clearly missed the fine print), I was essentially told no. Instead, they offered me the option to pay more money to upgrade to a "Great Dog Flex Pass." Here's the kicker: I was trying to sign up for classes, but many were already booked 2-3 weeks out, and the remaining spots were only available if someone canceled, with 24-hour notice. So, with a busy schedule it is tough to plan around that. When I asked for an extension I was told "Our expiration dates are clearly stated on the website and displayed by our scheduling system each time you sign up for a class." Fine, but if you're running a small local business, wouldn't you want to keep a customer coming back, especially after they've already spent so much money with you? I was just looking for a little understanding and flexibility, but instead, I felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed. Very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning. If you're looking for a place that values its customers and operates with a little empathy, I suggest looking elsewhere.

The new facility is better in every way, and the owners and staff are the same terrific crew. This is a full-service dog center: daycare, grooming, overnight boarding, hiking excursions, farm outings, etc. So far I've only taken my dog there for daycare and the occasional grooming. She starts yodeling in the car when we're a couple blocks away, drags me in the front door and trots off happily with the staff, without even a glance back at me. At pickup time she's happy, tired and ready to come home - though I think she wishes we lived upstairs so she wouldn't really have to leave all of her pals. When I travel later this year, I'll be able to relax knowing my goofball is in good hands. Highly recommended.

I have…read morebeen taking Bowser to the puppy socials for the last couple weeks, he is a german shepherd but very small for his age (11 weeks) They divide the social up between ages and are very attentive to what's going on with the pups. Heidi is very nice and you can tell she really loves the dogs, which is super important to me. Bowser is having a great time and learning to be social. When he is older I would trust them to do daycare and other classes/ events. A great place!
