I had the 8" gutbuster on wheat and a large bowl of chicken noodle soup. Service was both fast and pleasant. They quickly put my order together and delivered it in a paper sack to my table and I ate in. The sandwich was flavorful and full of meat and veggies as ordered. While I liked it, the meat seemed too salty whereas the wheat roll was very good. All ingredients seemed quite fresh. The chicken noodle soup lacked flavor, chicken and noodles. I've had lots better many places and won't have that again. I liked the rock and roll portraits that were the mainstay of the decore. The place was clean, but the motion-activated paper towel dispenser in the bathroom only spits out about 5-6" of paper for each activation - annoyingly stingy. I don't know that I will return due to the lack of overwhelming satisfaction with the food. Just over $20 for a salty sub and a ho-hum bowl of soup is not a big driver to bring me back. My spouse and I stopped here a few days ago, on Saturday. We hadn't had Obee's in forever and remembered really enjoying it. For some reason, they were using a trash can as a POS station and that was really weird to me. You couldn't tell it was a trash can unless you went to the bathroom and saw the back of it with the flap that said TRASH on it. The building has an unpleasant musty smell. And the ice machine spout had what appeared to be mold or dirt on it. I wasn't asked if I wanted my sub toasted but I didn't care either way. I got half a turkey and cheese and my spouse got half a tuna. The food was pretty tasty but I was really thrown off by the things I already mentioned. read more

Popped in twice last week. Obees is pretty near to my job. I had wanted to go to berry blendz and tried. The first time they were closed and the other time i went in and even though an hour before close they wouldn't make my order. So i guess berry blendz loss it obees gain. They take your order at a station when you walk in. I ordered salads both times. The staff was very friendly and they listened to make sure they were going to be able to make your order just as you wanted. They will take your name and they will bring your order out to you when its ready. You can also call in your order and pick it up for take out. read more

I'll let you know that I came in with very high expectations of Obees as I heard this was the spot if you wanted a really great sub sandwich in Fort Collins. But alas, this could not be any further from the truth. What I encountered was slow, disjointed service. An extremely weird walkup ordering process. Rude, unprofessional employees. And that's besides the point, because my sandwich - the reason I went here in the first place - was prepared with skimpy ingredients and mostly all bread. One of their selling points is to ask if you wanted your sandwich toasted; but what I got instead was stale, cold bread. Very disappointing to say the least considering the prices asked of their customers and the tip I included, unfortunately. But the biggest issue I had with my 1st experience here was the staff working the counter Saturday night around 6pm. I ordered my sandwich and waited around for it to be prepared. Two people walk up and order after me. And their sandwiches are prepared ahead of mine. The guy I ordered from forgot that he took my order and wondered why I was upset. Then he recalled what I ordered and had the guys in the back prepare my sandwich, salty that I had to ask where my sandwich was as I was in a hurry. As he handed me my sandwich, he starts laughing in unison with the other guys as I was leaving the store. Sorry. Missed the joke. Not sure why I was singled out in such a condescending fashion. The other customers took notice and even asked why my sandwich wasn't prepared ahead of theirs. I have an eerie feeling that it was an off night, that the owners and managers were out of the store, and the employees decided to get high and do whatever the F they wanted. It was obvious that they were short staffed and had designs to get off work. One employee was on the phone in the corner dealing with another unhappy customer on the phone. So I'm pretty sure this represents an off night for the establishment. But looking at the issue as a whole, seems to me this shop really doesn't represent the best of Fort Collins that I had a general impression of. Too bad. I won't be back... read more

I placed an online delivery earlier in the week from Obee's while I was at work. I had never eaten at Obees before and was excited to try it! My coworkers always rave about it. My order said it was supposed to be delivered between 11:50-12:00, which was about an hr after I placed it... during lunch rush, so I wasn't concerned. I called the store at 12:15 because it still had not been delivered. I did not receive my order at my workplace until 12:46. The paper on the order says it was supposed to be delivered by 11:46! I was shocked it took almost TWO HOURS after I ordered, and over an hr after it was supposed to be delivered! I even emailed Obee's trying to work through it with management, and still haven't received a response. ‍ On top of all of that, my "toasted sub" was room temp cold and soggy. If this is the service I can expect from Obee's, I don't plan to be back. read more

Great food. Crap customer service. I called in an order for a salad and sandwich to be delivered to the Motel 6. I specifically requested that a fork be included with the delivery. Motel 6 is a budget motel with no restaurant or other food service. No kitchen. No silverware Took about 90 minutes for the food to arrive, but it's Saturday night and they're probably busy. When the driver does arrive, I confirm with him that there is a fork in the bag. He confirms that there is one. There isn't. So I have no way of eating my already dressed and somewhat soggy salad. (The sandwich was amazing) I called the store back. The employee answering the phone thought it was funny that I was calling back for a fork. He refused to help. I pressed. He put me on hold to talk to his boss. He said his boss said that there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his boss. He admitted that he didn't talk to a boss and that he was the boss. Then he said, "Were not running across town to bring you a fucking fork." Excellent service. As I said, the sandwich was great. I'm sure the salad is to. I just don't have a way to tell. read more

Great French dip sandwich. Meat heated on front of me, Swiss cheese fresh sliced, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers sautéed right in front of me. I pulled in because it was close by and open after 9pm when most restaurants and sandwich shops close down in FoCo. Great customer service and shockingly fresh and delicious food. I've lived here since 2000 and have never tried Obee's before. My mistake. I'll be going back there soon. read more

As far as sandwich shops go, this is one of my go-to spots! There is usually enough parking the outside lot to accommodate the lunch rush. The dining area consists of a few tables and most people get their sandwich to go. There is a single line to one register and sometimes that can be a bit of a wait. You will order your sandwich as your approach the preparation area where they slice the meat and cheeses right in front of you. The quality of the ingredients is great and the sandwiches always come out fresh and delicious. I typically go for the Philly Cheesesteak on the french roll, but the Spicy Italian sandwich is also pretty tasty! Obee's has local cookie options from Eileen's and they have a great selection of potato chips too! I have never been disappointed with my sandwich, but I would say the service isn't always consistent. I haven't had anyone be rude to me, but the inconsistency in the friendliness has been noticed by me. Sometimes the owner is there and he is always great with his guests. Regardless of this little detail, I will absolutely keep coming here for a satisfying sandwich! read more

The sandwiches here are so good! Their gluten free bread is the best I've ever had, soft and doesn't fall apart like most gluten free bread. MUCH higher quality than all of the other chains. It takes a little longer to make the subs, but it is because they take care, pack them full of ingredients and toast them if you like. There are so many choices of meats, cheeses, toppings and condiments. They are open later than most places, which is a bonus. The employees are fun and friendly too! read more

Definitely a good place for a sandwich. The employees seem helpful and friendly. We tried their meatball and their cheesesteak subs. Both solid choices. Personally, I don't think I'd get a cheesesteak here again, just because I'd go to philly's best instead. But it wasn't bad by any means. I really enjoyed their meatball sub though! The meatball were seared on their outsides and so they had a nice crust. The sauce was good too. Very good! They slice all their meats in-house too which is a nice bonus! A lot of the reviews on Feasting Fort Collins deserve second chances, particularly the reviews from when I first started. My writing has grown, my experience as a critic matured, my expectations realistic for Fort Collins (although, still very optimistic). Some restaurants made mistakes, and sometimes I was the one who made them. A few readers tried to convince me that my initial review of Obee's was a mistake. I take comments from readers seriously. While I find it interesting that people don't believe that it's possible for me to have a poor dining experience at their favorite restaurant (Mount Everest review, anyone?), I'm still willing to stop by for a second review and another chance. Many people claimed that I would have a difference experience, especially if the owner was on site. Sadly, it wasn't dramatically different and one lunch was painfully sour. I stopped by Obee's on my way home from spending the morning at the Gardens on Spring Creek to participate on a panel discussion about young professionals in Fort Collins for city representatives visiting from Springfield, Missouri. It was lunchtime during the week and I was the only one waiting in line. I didn't see this as a favorite spot for many as was exclaimed by reader comments. Nevertheless, I ordered the exact same thing I did during my first review - a grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread with vegetables. Although, this time I got mustard instead of the sundried tomato pesto mayo. I also ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup as a side. Taking the advice of readers, both of my returned visits were during the afternoon and not a late dinner. I'm also assuming that Lou was there and the one who made my sandwich (I didn't see a name identifier anywhere other than a bobble head and I'm unable to officially identify through Google images). If this was the case, my service was quite possibly one of the most uncomfortable I've had in Fort Collins in a very long time. After kicking around the reluctance to return, I remember the second chance I didn't give them in the initial review. I really didn't want to come back. I actually hated the idea of it. But, I did. I returned again with the kids after school. They split a grilled cheese and vegetable sub. I ordered a roast beef with the sundried pesto mayo. Our service was better with a couple of different employees. There were smiles and it didn't seem like my sandwich was a burden. There was happy, authentic conversation at the register. The kids and I left smiling. That's really all you can ask for and expect. The sandwiches were mediocre just as the one I ordered the other day. For their benefit, nothing was terrible like it was during my initial review. I didn't feel like I was served something that shouldn't have been. But, there was nothing exciting, outstanding, or impressive that makes then stand out from other sub shops in town. It was just a simple sandwich that could be compared to Silvermine. I may not be the most forgiving person out there, but I am willing to give second chances. I've learned that I need to trust that gut feeling a little more often when I need to give someone the benefit of the doubt. This review is an excellent example. My impression of their food improved only slightly, and I did take another risk with service. I really did give it another shot. I'm not going to rush back, because I'm not evolved enough for third chances. read more

4.5 stars!! I love that the fresh cut meat and cheese and the bread is nice and fluffy (unlike some certain chain who toast there subs so you don't notice they're stale). I always get the same thing (not good at trying new things.... turkey, ham and cheese on white with all kinds of goodies on top. In high school we went to a place called Mr. Goodcents. and Obees tastes just like goodcents. I also heard a rumor that it is the same guy, I should probably investigate. AND they have eileens's cookies soooo tasty. The only thing I wish they had was a medium size drink. You can either get a teeny tiny soda or a giant big gulp size. I just want a medium. Oh and the best time to go is after 5 so you can get their deal. read more
