We happened to come into The Colorado Room on an evening when there was live music in the back. This meant that a lot of the seating was reserved, but we were still able to find a seat. You order up at the front, which is helpful because the gent up front was able to give us guidance on the menu and we were able to see that the sizes of some of the sides. We got about half a dozen sliders and they were all delicious! Food was also delivered to our table promptly which was a pleasant surprise (crowded did NOT equal slow). The Colorado Room was highly recommended by some locals when I asked around while walking downtown Fort Collins. I was told it was a super chill spot with great food, good selection of beer, and really nice guys providing great service. Upon walking in, it was obvious that The Colorado Room is all about supporting local businesses and individuals as art from local artists were all over the walls, concert tickets were next to the cash register, and there was a wall full of local business cards. Super cool! As for the food, "wow" was the first thought that came to mind upon trying the sammies. They were so flavorful and jam-packed with delicious ingredients. I wanted to try all of the sammies! Maybe I will one day... Honestly the only reason there aren't five stars is cost for the size of sliders you get- $5.25 for the size of a White Castle slider is a lot of money for the amount of food. We thought the taste was great but shocking to have 2 adults and 2 kids get two sliders each with one side each and one beer for well over $70...for a college town it's definitely not affordable for college kids and certainly a lot of money for a casual meal. There's a lot of fries as sides but would like more from the sliders. Service is super friendly and the ambiance is pretty eclectic with some interesting paintings for sale on the walls. We watched the closing ceremonies on the TVs and enjoyed the air conditioning inside as an escape for the heat and humidity. I'd love to see slightly bigger sliders for the price or reduced price. After an evening hike at Horsetooth falls, my growling tummy was in the search for food. Per my usual, I hopped on Yelp and this place was nearby. Located in Ft. Collin's, this place definitely had a college vibe. There is street parking available, my friend and I parked at the Verizon after hours located close by. Upon entering, the order counter is front and center as you walk in. They have menus to look at located by the cashier. You order prior to sitting down. The special menu item here is the gourmet sliders. The daily specials of the day are printed and posted right where you pay. My friend and I opted for 5 sliders to split and some cheese curds. Each slider runs you about $5.25 each. Our food was ready in less than 15 minutes. Upon first view of our food, our cheese curds looked as we got what was left over. Just small crumbs if you may. The sliders were okay. The banh mi was my favorite. However, the meat on all the sliders tasted about the same. They all had the consistency of pulled pork with different sauces. One of the guys explained the menu and told us to look it over and order at the front when we were ready. I loved the friendly and attentive service! It was torture contemplating which sliders I was going to choose. All of the combinations sounded so good. Eventually, I settled on the pork bbq, pork rhine and pork banh mi. Yep, I'm a pork lover. The pork was tender throughout each slider and each one had their own unique flavor. The only suggestion I would make to the business is to not overly add certain toppings, like the pickled onions. Those things had such a kick that I could hardly eat the pork rhine slider. Hey, at least they're not skimpy on the toppings though. Tater eclairs with the siracha sauce are a must try. The fries are pretty good too. $16.50 for the 3 slider meal deal was fair, but my sisters 1/2 pound of wings, which turned out to be 5 wings for $7.75, was steep in my opinion. The wings were puny and came with no sides other than three strips of celery.
