Been using OAS for countless years. They handled our municipal equiptment also. Know the family well. The best. I see negative stuff on here about them but i think it all comes down to not understanding how auctions work. YOU are the buyer and its up to YOU to know what your buying. NEVER depend on a description as gospel. YOU have plenty of time to inspect what your bidding on. If YOU dont know what your looking at then dont buy. READ THE CONSENT FORM. All auctions by any auction house are handled the same way. And YES there is always a buyer and seller fee. Thats true everywhere. Even classic car auctions the auction house make thousands on the sale of some cars. So stop complaining. And the OAS staff are as friendly as it can get. read more

Bought a couple of different items from them. Bad attitude. Bad descriptions. Bad photos. Pretty much a poor experience. I actually felt they were angry at me for coming in to purchase items I won at auction. I've never tried to sell anything using their service, but as a buyer, be prepared to be treated with disdain. read more

Let me start by saying that the owner (or appears to be the owner) Bill Obenauf, was very professional and considerate when I actually came in to pick up my purchase. However, Carroll and a half wit in the warehouse were amazingly rude. How this place stays in business with these people answering phones and dealing with customers is beyond me. I would give you 5 stars but the guy in the warehouse actually told me that the workers themselves bid on the items. First I thought that makes sense but then I was like wait I'm getting bid up from employees? If they don't have an issue with employees bidding up their customers then what stops the management from intentionally bidding me up as well. If you need cleaning supplies this I can guarantee won't happen but anything else you are in competition with the staff and the house. Doesn't seem right. I have had nothing but great experiences with Obenauf.I see a lot of people saying you pay to much, all fees are shown up front and if you want to bid it up higher than it should go than WHO'S fault is that??? not theirs! I have bought items and have resold them and made hundreds.I have also bought item and lost money but all that is on ME. The bottom line is they offer a service and its up to you as the consumer to do your homework.They do a LOT of great things for the community and are great people. read more

If you have a choice, do not use this group of people to sell your items. We have had constant problems with them, from terrible unprofessional attitudes, to a lack of communication, to the repeated attempted theft of funds and at this point they are trying to steal over $2400 of money owed to us. They also take up a ton of your time, way more than they tell you up front. It seems that the prior owners were decent people but they unfortunately sold to some who were not. AVOID. read more

Obenauf doesn't deserve any stars. Bid on a bicycle with the exact description: "Turin racing bike, specially built frame, extremely light and durable, Made in Italy, New these bikes can be over $1,000.00. Here is an opportunity to buy one at a fraction of the price." Local bike shop tells me Turin is a French-made bike, not worth more than $200 new. Emailed Obenauf stating I'm not paying for something that is falsely advertised and the customer service rep snaps back saying I should've known better. If Obenauf goes through the trouble of lying about a $200 item in hopes of getting more money, I think they lie about their more expensive listings. Caution to those who bid. I highly recommend avoiding this deceitful business. read more

This is my second time selling an older model car with Obenauf. Both times I received more money than any dealer or private party offered. It was super easy. Just fill out the forms, bring them the car and title and they do the rest! I don't have to worry about people calling to see the car or who may or may not show up at my door. I/m a long time buyer from Obenauf and have found them very professional in the way they handle buyers and sellers. Some people complain their prices are high but they should all know the costs before they get into the bidding, people only pay for what they really want. I like the idea that Obenauf has auctions at night. I understand that they would like to turn the items around quickly but it would be nice to have the option of holding items if you win two auctions a day apart just to keep the long travel to a minimum. I have two auctions coming up that are two days in a row so I might be able to hold off the extra day to pick the items up as they will be in the two day pickup time. read more

Have had nothing but great experiences buying from them! I would highly recommend doing for research on items you are going to buy. I'm sure sellers give descriptions of the products they're selling to the auction house, they may not always be 100% accurate. Always practice buyer beware when buying used items. Auction places can never assume responsibility for the items they sell and I'm pretty sure it's common practice to charge a small buyer premium. Just my $.02 read more

Items have fairly high fees. Employee Carol who takes your payment over the phone is incredibly rude and talks down to you. Have dealt with on several auctions and get the same attitude every time. Otherwisei would rate three stars over all. read more
