I will not spend money with a company that allows their employees/representatives to YIP at customers, instead of explaining their procedures in a professional and logical manner. In addition, when you tell a customer there are only two people allowed at the jewelry station while you actively have THREE people there, is just nonsense. Frankly I didn't waste much more of my time after that encounter, but a quick perusal of the kitchenware pricing indicates a vast overpricing on the first day. One of my favorite estate sales companies! They don't jack up their prices on the first day to fool you into thinking the second day you're getting a deal. They're fair all around. A friend used them for her sale and was impressed by their professionalism and all the precautions they took to ensure security and shoplifters. Staff is friendly and funny! Our family recently worked with Patty and her staff in Wilmette to sell my family's antiques. I'll start by saying that we had interviewed three other estate sale companies and Patty was by far the most professional, organized, and personable. I was skeptical because while we did have information on some of the antique pieces, it wasn't our area of expertise. This is a review of attending one of Meadow Lane sales. I enjoy Estates Sales. But there are so many new companies popping up, and many sales each weekend. I plan my weekend by previewing the sales on ESTATESALES.NET. I look to see who is running the sale. I have discovered there are many companies that I don't care for. I had a delightful experience today at this company's sale. Great pictures, wonderful friendly helpful staff, fair prices. This was a newer home with new items not antiques. I go to several estate sales every weekend north of chicago into the suburbs and this is the first time I have seen this company. There is a reason why this company does not show up often compared to other better run, ethical estate sales companies in the burbs. As soon as I went in literally at opening time as I showed up early, I told one of the employees that I would buy an item that was placed outside. I was told that is fine. Literally a few minutes later, the idiot of an employee apparently forgot and just sold the item that he confirmed was sold to us to another person. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEIR WORD MEANS NOTHING. If you attend their estate sales, do not trust the employees to hold your stuff. As annoying as it is to carry the stuff around, do it because otherwise, this company will simply sell it to someone else right from under you. If a person cannot trust an estate sales company from a buyer's perspective, why in the world would you think you can trust them to hold your valuable, sentimental belongings to this company. Just left their estate sale, never going back to another one of their estate sales EVER AGAIN! We are estate sale junkies and we spend most of our money at estate sales we actually spent about $1,000 at an estate sale down the street (that's why we just stopped by theirs) I found a very unique walking stick priced at $30 in one of the rooms (I was trying to find my husband to see if he thought it would make a good Gandalf staff for Halloween) As I was walking the man guarding the front door (to get to the dining room opposite the bedrooms) I was physically stopped by a man who asked if it was written on a ticket "stop right there is that written on a ticket. The lady should have written it on a ticket" .... there was no lady.... then he started screaming over me trying to reply that I was just trying to show my husband .... but then his minion showed up another rude man that "do you want me to take that since you aren't going to buy it" tried explaining yet again but neither of them listened still talking over me like I committed some terrible act by wanting to show a $30 walking stick to someone before I purchased it.... they made me feel incredibly bad.... so they lost a $30 sale and perhaps thousands of dollars in sales because I will never go back and I will be letting all my estate sale goer friends to never support a business that makes its customers feel like they are under interrogation read more

Went to pick up an item that I had purchased from a Meadow Lane online auction. While sitting in the driveway of a house a man opened the door and rudely told me to text him my information. I get the COVID Social Distancing thing but I told him if he wanted me to text him, he needed to give me a number to text him to.I didn't have this guys number or the number of anyone associated with the sale. He then rudely told me to give him my name which I did. I sat in my car for probably at least ten minutes and a lady emerged from the house and sarcastically asked me if I was "okay". Unbeknownst to me, she took the painting that I had purchased and left it on the porch and went back in the house and closed the door. I naively thought the I would be going to a business address and not some random house. Very bizarre procedure and unpleasant people. Would love to give zero stars but I guess that's not possible.
