I had a great reliable mechanic in Chicago, and after four visits here, I think I've found another good one. Liebold is located conveniently near downtown Galena. In those four visits, I've only spent about $50, which is a major coup with any mechanic. Two of of those were actual service, and two were my hearing noises, bringing the car in for diagnostics where they found nothing. Kudos to them for putting up with my "mechanichondriac" tendencies and of course with mouthing the noises for them when I bring the car in. Living in a small town, you know, word of one's eccentricities tends to get around fast, and I could get a "reputation." On all four visits, I was able to hang out and wait at their shop and peruse the nice variety of outdated magazines, watch and laugh at animal videos on my smart phone, so it was the auto service equivalent of fast food. The fact that on two occasions they didn't charge me a cent (to find nothing was wrong) is a good way to guarantee I will be back to annoy them in the future. Thanks, guys. You're better than Paxil.

Last night we fueled up when we got to town at the Hy-Vee downtown. Drove to our hotel Holiday Inn. Next morning we go to leave for a meeting and the car just smelled strongly of gasoline. It showed 1/2 tank of gas even though we had just filled it. We go to meeting. Leave and then the car shows empty tank! Strong smell of gas, made it like .50 and car sputtered to a dead stop. AAA was quick to get the car to Turpin Dodge and with the Braunability we didn't know what we were in for. Only here for a day an 1/2 we are thinking we lost our trip time here but they gave us a loaner, and we went on our way! We made it to our convention events. They were sooooo kind! They were able to replace the gas line that went bad, gave us loaner for the day, and they were SOOOOO NICE AND ACCOMODATING. We felt blessed to end up here. It was a difficult situation made so much easier because of their assistance!!
