OBO Pizza is a local chain that has 3 locations - one in Fredericksburg, one in Indian Head, and the location in Waldorf. Never heard of this place, but we decided to give this place a try for lunch, as we had heard about their cheesesteaks. We ordered: +a Cheesesteak - opted out of the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and the red pepper relish, and just stuck with the mayo, fried onions, salt, pepper, and American cheese; this was super delicious! It was greasy, juicy, flavorful, and super generous in the filling; the roll was soft, too, and we thought this was prepared pretty well! +Gyro Wrap - served in pita bread with onions, tomatoes, and a huge dollop of the house tzatziki sauce; this was a bit forgettable, as it could have had more gyro meat; the pita bread was soft and fluffy; wasn't really a fan of the thick tzatziki sauce +a Four Cheese pie - topped with provolone, mozzarella, cheddar, and feta; probably one of the worst pizzas we've had; it looked pretty trashy, as you can see slices of the cheese that were used, rather than shredded; the tomato sauce was more on the sickly sweet side and had an offputting taste to it; the crust was super soft, and didn't seem like the 'brick oven-style' that the place was touting Staff were very friendly! LOWKEY our new fav local pizza spot! Placed a call ahead order for pick-up to celebrate #NationalPepperoniPizzaDay and ordered a large, you guessed it, pepperoni pizza, and a personal size cheese pizza. The nice young lady on the other end of the phone quoted about a 20min wait and they were right on point, no more no less. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the blazing brick oven in the middle of the place! Gave me real authentic pizza vibes! Along with the ah-mazing aroma of freshly baked pizza! Our ride home was total torture! Both pizzas were extremely tasty, our pepperoni was a little more greasier than the cheese but not a biggie. Both crusts were really soft and had some burnt-ness to the edges, but nothing overly burnt. The sauce was also nice and sweet! Overall, both pizzas were a hit in our house! Good all around pizza joint. The pizza oven alone is awesome to look at and will rock your socks off. The pizza is good however a bit too much cheese and not firm enough for my taste, as I'm a plain cheese pizza type of guy. At OBO I request the pizza to be cooked crispy and not too much cheese. Truly good food of any kind is hard to come by in laplata/waldorf. This is the most expensive pizza in town for some reason, but it's also the best tasting pizza within a 45 min radius. The prices suck but it's the only place i can stand to order from here in podunk. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! We had an awful experience with OBO Pizza, to include unprofessional management and ownership. We have eaten here several times, pizza was generally pretty good, staff could use improvements in customer relations, professionalism (several staff members just stand there talking/joking when customers are at register trying to place order). On a busy weeknight, we needed a quick dinner for our family and chose to order a pizza for carryout. Picked up in 15 mins and were home digging in. As we're eating, our 14-year old daughter starts screaming "There's a wasp baked into my pizza!!!!" Sure enough, there in plain sight, there was a WASP baked into her pizza!!! (See pics) The worst of it didn't end there unfortunately, that was only the beginning. We called OBO Pizza, told them what we found, and that we would be on the way back up there to address the situation. My husband arrives to speak to the manager, who denies any wrongdoing and refuses to take any responsibility, even blaming us for this issue. As if we would spend our own money, put a dead wasp on our pizza, and go through the inconvenience of driving all the way home to feed our family, only to have to come all the way back at 9:30pm to deal with this?!?? Beyond frustrating!!! Then the staff member who apparently made our pizza begins yelling from the back that "she knows there was no wasp b/c she made the pizza" My husband is furious at this point and simply asks for a refund. The manager refused to refund our money, and proceeded to call the police in order to avoid dealing with an unhappy customer and addressing the situation as an experienced manager would. My husband waits for the police to arrive, has a discussion with them about what happened, and since nothing can be done by law enforcement to force management to resolve an issue, it's all a waste of time. The owner arrives soon afterwards so we're hopeful that he will address the situation but NOPE, same thing... refuses any responsibility and the saga continues. Unbelievable situation... we ended up having to dispute the charges with our bank and the restaurant never took any responsibility for anything. Honestly, we spend so much money eating out in the Waldorf area, and there are too many quality restaurants to support rather than ones where ownership, management, AND staff are all lacking. The service was nice. Food looked decent but boy was I unimpressed. First of all I love wings. These wings had noooooo flavor but the hot buffalo sauce they were tossed in. Which as you can see didn't stick very well if at all to the wings. The skin on the wings was so chewy I threw them in my air fryer to cook a little longer and they were still bad. DO NOT DINE IN, as the store front itself is dirty, had an uncomfortable amount of flies and was quite cramped. I can only rate them on their soft serve ice cream station because that's the only thing I tried while there. Will have to go back to review their pizza and the inside of this location. They have a soft serve window on the side of the building which I couldn't refuse finding out more about. It was interesting to me that a brick oven pizza place would have a soft serve walk-up but it's really cute and the soft serve ice cream was really good! The menu is really simple. Vanilla and chocolate are the only flavors they have and you can get a kids cone, regular cone, sundae or a cup. The cones are cake cones and the kids cone, which is what I got, is pretty big so I doubt I would ever get the regular size one. They have traditional sundae toppings like chocolate, strawberry etc and a couple upcharge ones like gummy bears and sprinkles. The prices were all under $5 with a kid cone being under $2. Was pretty weird to me and the staff that I was getting one in October while it was pretty breezy and gloomy looking outside, so next time I'll wait until the weather is more appropriate for it. The medium was just enough for 2 people (6 small slices). We also had fries and buffalo wings. The fries were nothing to rave about, but they were hot and there were plenty of them. My favorite pizza spot! I get their pizza delivered through Grubhub. The brick oven pizza served here is no comparrison to other pizza chains like dominoes, papa johns, or pizza hut. The flavors are good and the pizza is cooked to perfection. OBO is a brick oven pizza joint that has plenty of toppings to choose from. They make their own dough and do everything right in front of you. We had the 'Pandora' pizza, which is a basic pepperoni with diced tomatoes-we added green peppers for good measure. The pizza was phenomenal! They burn real wood in the brick oven which imparts an amazing flavor on the pizza. The sauce they use is great, you can taste the love that was put into making it. If you're looking for a new place to get a pizza in Waldorf, this is it! If you're familiar with Ouzo's in La Plata, this is owned by the same people. Got there about 9:40 and the place was pitch black, and locked up tight. 2 vehicles in the back, running and seemed like they were getting ready to head home. I walked up and mentioned that I ordered pizza, blah blah blah... Next thing you know, they walk in and make 2 pizzas and a calzone. It's 10:15 before they end up heading home (they close at 10).
