Rustic? That's a stretch... but I loved it anyway…read more Had a great time at Dakota Hot Springs, but when they say "rustic," that might be giving it a little too much credit. Think more "DIY charm with deferred maintenance." Only one of the two showers in the men's bathroom worked, and the outdoor shower looked like it had retired early. The shade cloth overhead was thin, ripped, and flapping in the wind like it was waving a white flag. That said, the water itself? Perfect. The big pool stayed at a great temp, and if you wander into the "lobster pot," prepare to boil yourself like you're on the menu--it's hot hot. Lots of room to spread out and catch sun, which was a big plus. Now, the real warning: dusk. When the sun dips, the mosquitoes come out like they've been fasting for weeks. I heard it's thanks to the stagnant dump water nearby, and they make sure you know they're there. Pro tip: bring bug spray or plan your exit before happy hour for the skeeters. All in all--quirks, flapping tarps, and dive-bombing mosquitoes included--I'll definitely be back. Just don't come expecting "spa chic." This is a hot springs with character (and a sense of humor).

It's very open land... I wish it were a bit more wooded, but it's extremely peaceful, quiet, and has decent mountain views. The staff is friendly, although the older gentleman is a little hard of hearing, so speak loudly. The pool is extremely clean and refreshing! The bathrooms were under construction when we were there, but we still had access to them for running water, toilets, showers... not bad for camping! I would definitely come back to camp here. One more tip: Watch out for cows on the road in.

I highly recommend you DO NOT stay here!! Several of the people are nice, most keep to their own little "cliques". Showers are nasty....we were told by one camper she left something in a shower and it stayed in the same spot for six weeks! Very dusty. Not much room for camper and vehicle. "Maintenance" is giving away spaces to dry camp for very cheap and the consensus is he or the young couple are pocketing the money. Very shady place to stay. Better stay at the Wal-Mart parking lot!!

We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.

Ethan ran me through how to use the bike and I was off. About an hour in i crashed and damaged the bike but Ethan brought a new one to me in about 30 minutes. He wasn't upset and we took care of the damages later. I had such a great time I decided I was going to buy one. Thankfully Rocke/Ethan also sell Ebike's. I was able test 3 different Ebike's I was interested in and bought one that day. Ethan makes the experience very relaxed and I never once felt any pressure to purchase anything. It's day 2 of having my snapcycle bike and I've got 53 miles on it. It's working great and I'm super happy with the purchase.

Our rafting guide (Henry) had great vibes and had so much bonus info that we learned during our float. The views were breath taking. The package included lunch which was actually soo good!! We told the bartender we were in a rush to get to zip lining and they were able to take our order and get out very quickly. Our zip lining experience was also super fun!! Shania & Rene were super sweet to talk to. It's also worth mentioning that we were worried we wouldn't have enough time to eat before zip lining and the office was willing to push us back into a later group. We ended up having enough time, but it was nice to see that the staff was more than willing to work with us. Amazing staff seriously helped us have amazing memories. :)
