Its less than an hour to most attractions in the area and honestly just hanging out at the cabin was plenty! The wood burning stove really made the whole cabin feel homey and warm, and we got to spend a ton of time in the hot tub! The bed and blankets were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. It was the best birthday trip I had ever taken and we will be coming back for sure!

I stayed five nights in The rustic cabin. And it was lovely, very down-to-earth small cabin. Would be really perfect for two people. all the amenities you would need. Bring food you're set. Small deck on one side wi Itth some really comfortable patio chairs and there was sun on it most of the day. around the other side there's a big picnic table and a barbecue. There are two cabins on each side but no one was home. It's at the end of a dead-end road so it's nice and quiet. A deer and a fox walked past the cabin. I know I'll be staying there again. Note: very steep wooden stairs you need to go down to get to the cabin.

This place made me decide to never rent from a personal rental company ever again…read more I believe this rental was once nice but it is in desperate need of some TLC. To start, it was dirty. The renter confirmed that they do the cleaning themselves and it's evident. Pillow cases had stains on them, fridge and freezer had crumbs and hair in them. There should be a professional cleaner going in and sanitizing after every guest. Several things were broken (and honestly, dangerous). The door locks are also not in good shape. There is no deadbolt on the front or back door. The front door lock was literally being held together by BAND AIDS! Yes BANDAIDS. Ironically enough they had a sign next to the front door warning about bears in the area LOL. The patio fairy lights were not working. There's a floodlight that is on a minute timer so we kept having to move around if we wanted any lighting in the front porch or in the backyard where the hot tub is. If you get into the hot tub after dark, good luck, bring your own lights unless you want complete darkness. We specifically rented this cabin for the hot tub but it did not work. We followed the instructions posted. The "heating" light was on. We waited 45 minutes and the temperature didn't move a single degree. When we raised these concerns to Sandy and Bob, they were sarcastic and rude. Even after seeing the pictures with the proof. They claimed that all of our issues were because the home was "historic". Historic does NOT mean dirty and broken and unsafe. Imagine going to a historic museum and seeing things held together with band aids?! So just know that if you book and have any issues, they will not give a care in the world!

From the moment we met them, we were endeared to them and as these 20 years have rolled by, they remain some of our best friends. The sites are large and allow for privacy and the use of canopies and other outside gear. Close to numerous Colorado attractions including Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, The Royal Gorge, etc. laundry and restrooms clean. Lots of wildlife and places in the RV park to walk. Couple of issues -road noise M-F from 7:00-4:00 as large trucks haul gravel from the quarry to town. The 2 lane road runs on the whole side of the resort. AND, we reached out to the advertised Colorado RV services to get some work done on our RV. They came by 2 times to meet with us but never gave us an estimate or touched base to schedule the work. We followed up numerous times. Our initial conversation was 7 weeks prior to our scheduled departure. This left a very bad taste in our mouths. Very bad customer service and follow up. We traveled in a 36 foot, class A.

I had called two additional times regarding tennis and climbing and never received any follow up from either part. It was overall a great stay and I wish I would've had more time, but I'm glad to have experienced everything. From the moment you arrive on property the staff is very welcoming, attentive and polite. Check in was smooth and the we had a bellman show us to our room, giving facts about the property along the way. We went to the pool, which although it was a bit overcast by the time we got there it was a good temperature. I was a bit surprised by how dirty it was. The view though from the infinity pool/ hot tub was beautiful. We checked out the gym/ lap pool and hot tub over there. The gym is a good size and not too crowded for a Monday morning. They have a nice locker room and other amenities. The lap pool is great too! Turn down service was good, but I almost expected more- pillows were put away but it didn't seem like it was a thorough job - coming from a five star perspective. Also our shades didn't close entirely so the room had quite a bit of light still coming in which we couldn't seem to have the perfectly dark room. Truly a magical place to be, so much to do and see and I would come back for a longer time to enjoy the property nice but it's truly gorgeous just being there.

The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. And those clear plastic boxes for extra bedding? Pure organizational wizardry. Marie Kondo would weep. Cozy blankets made me consider quitting my job and becoming a professional blanket burrito. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. Already plotting how to make this my permanent address.
