Long overdue review of my new favorite coffee place. (Wells Coffee who!?!) You read that correctly. Alex and his team are amazing and I absolutely love every chance I get to come visit Obsidian. I am currently obsessing over their pistachio almond milk latte. And of course, a pistachio croissant when they have them! I should I really start trying something else but for now, these are my go to's! Their baked goods and foods are all made from a local French baker and the shop is quaint with seating inside and out. If you're into cool coffee contraptions, they also have a gravity cold brew thing going on inside. I'm sure it makes the coffee taste ten times better and will have to try it soon. I know that other matcha place is across the street (no shade) but Alex did assure me he also makes a fire matcha latte as well. If you haven't been to Obsidian yet for a cup of Joe, I highly recommend stopping in soon. 10/10 recommend and coming back on the regular!

Put "coffee" in my NAV and this place popped up. It was never on my radar before, so I was def intrigued. I pulled up to an interesting partially developed art district. It's exciting to see how it will be in that area once completed. The coffee was spectacular...the Dulce de Leche latte to be exact. I decided to even purchase two fresh bags of beans for my home coffee. He gets the beans from Mexico and the taste is exceptional. Stop in and try!! The pastries looks so good and different than any I've seen elsewhere.

I think the coffee was really good. I had the Dirty Horachta. We had the choice of 3 drinks as a yelp insider. It was really nice of them. Nice place.

A new coffee (& matcha) spot within the Thrive Art District in Fort Lauderdale. I was recommended by a fellow Yelp Elite to check out this lil cafe and I'm so happy I did! I saw it when driving to Alma Matcha & Steamy Lit and was so curious to check it out. When I walked over one day, I was greeted warmly by the owner Anthony. It wasn't too busy when I walked in so I got to chat about their menu and hear about some of the art they have inside, which was actually made by his husband! There are a few tables inside and out as well as bar-style seating. I was able to connect to their wifi and get some work done with my intern while we were here. We both got iced matcha lattes and I was so happy to hear that they had pandan here. If you aren't familiar with pandan, it's green in color & for flavor- it has a coconut-y, almost vanilla-like flavor that is mostly found in Filipino or Vietnamese cuisine. Ube is the more popular flavor you can find but Pandan is on the rise and I'm so happy they had it here! Anthony added it to my matcha and it was the perfect addition. They take care in the matcha and coffee. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but if you love coffee, definitely stop by and ask Anthony about it! Such a great addition to the Thrive Art District area and can't wait to stop by again the next time I'm around!

Waited impatiently what felt like an eternity for this coffee shop to open in the Thrive Art District. Finally, today I pulled the front door and it swung open. Immediately greeted by the staff and the owner Anthony. My nostrils locked into the strong scent of fresh coffee beans which produced a wide grin on my face. Loved the black open rafter ceiling and the cracked cement floor providing a strong industrial theme. The gender neutral bathroom was clean, basic and continued that industrial theme throughout. The menu was strictly coffee, matcha and tea while providing small pastry bites to accompany your thirst, although the early risers wiped them out before my afternoon visit. Ordered a double espresso shot of a Mexican - Brazilian blend. The espresso was presented in an onyx colored ceramic cup which displayed originality. The caffeine jolt was instant which enhanced my verbal communication with the barista. Had an in depth discussion with the owner about his coveted Kyoto Ice Drip coffee apparatus (resembled a high school chemistry experiment) proudly displayed on the back counter for customers to watch in awe. The upper glass chamber flows ice water down to the center glass beaker which mixes with the Chiapas Mexican coffee grounds then swirls downward as the black liquid brew drips very slowly into the bottom beaker producing the final product. This is a cashless coffee shop with friendly staff, strong brews and a notable sense of ingenuity. Must stop by this place if near the Thrive Art District.

I had such a lovely experience at this place. The staff was super cool, you could tell they love talking about their coffee beans they source like, it's obvious they care so much about the product they're selling. I got the matchata latte and omggg so good. I was not too sweet it was made perfect! Highly recommend. Also the matcha they use is super vibrant and delicious. My friend got a decaf cappuccino and she said the coffee was actually amazing - usually decaf can taste so bland. Also, as a bonus they have stunning artwork on display and it turns out the artist was right next to me the entire time! If you want matcha or delicious coffee with sweets do yourself a favor and come here!!

My hubby dragged me here this morning to try the espresso that he was bragging about. Perfect timing since the pastry guy was dropping off fresh pastries. The owner poured me a single espresso and gently coaxed me into buying an almond croissant. The coffee had a nice roasty taste and the croissant was excellent and shared a few bites with my hubby. Will be back for more.

Another lovely visit to Obsidian Coffee! We grabbed a vanilla latte with oat milk and the raspberry croissant - both were excellent! Be sure to stop by Connect Records Shop, Steamy Lit Book Store and Uncommon Path Brewery while you're there - amazing small businesses at Thrive Art District!

I found my new favorite coffee spot in Fort Lauderdale! The coffee here is strong, flavorful and made with love and intention. The vibes are nice, in writing this from the lil table inside the shop sipping a cappuccino. The service is friendly and fast! I even got a punch card! I'm excited to have a new spot that feels unique, prioritizes quality and service. I go to the yoga studio nearby so I'll be a frequent guest here. My only recommendation to the owner is to change the music, you have beautiful Mexican/ Latin theme. The music should reflect this to bring the vibe full circle. The conchas were a great idea! I'd love if they brought in a variety of pan dulce! Croissants are cool but everyone has them. Regardless, I love this place!

I work nearby, so I just strolled in during my lunch break for a little midday pick-me-up. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion is to perhaps have an allergens list for the individual baked goods. I tried to ask the staff about whether some of the treats contained nuts (in particular, the s'mores bar, and the chocolate chip cookie) as I have a peanut allergy (tree nuts are okay). There was a bit of a language barrier and the staff seemed unsure, and tried to err on the side of caution (which I appreciate). However, knowing that a s'mores bar or a chocolate chip cookie is unlikely to contain actual peanuts, I was a little frustrated because it would have been okay for me personally if it was simply that the baked goods were "processed in a factory that manufactures peanut products". Those trace amounts normally don't affect me. I feel like this was likely the case, but again, I'm glad that they just proceeded with an abundance of caution. I settled for a cheese danish even though I was really after a chocolate craving. Good on the staff for being cautious, disappointing for me that I couldn't cater to my chocolate craving. Oh well. I also ordered a Get Green smoothie, which was refreshing and delicious. The coconut water makes it super hydrating. Whether you're staying at the Del Mar hotel or just work nearby and want a little treat, this spot is a great place to stop in.

Opened since the 1970's and French inspired. Cute and stylish place to go. Either sit down service or take out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick. The latte and croissant was to die for. So many pastries to choose from that it's difficult to pick. I love the neon sign on the wall that says "Meet me by the grinds." There even was a champagne vending machine to buy small bottles. Wine bar located in the back. Attached is a beautiful floral store to buy flowers and other items. What a cozy and unique place to go. I will definitely be back next time I am in that neighborhood.

One side is the floral shop and the other side is the coffee bar. The entrance to the coffee bar where you place your order is way too small for the amount of traffic flow they have coming in and out. I felt like I was in the way no matter where I went. The employee taking our order was not the nicest and definitely was overwhelmed. This isn't a regular coffee shop where you can place your order to go and still drink your coffee or hang around. We were told If we were not eating or drinking at the coffee bar you will not be able to sit down. Ordered two iced lattes and two empanadas. Coffee was okay but the empanadas were really good!

The cafe is only two months old in the Cypress Creek Station shooping plaza, but heard the chatter on social media and had to drive a slight distance to also be part of the experience. A temporary simplistic Drip Coffee sign is affixed to the exterior of the business. Upon entering, the buzz of this cafe was accurate. The establishment spewed an ultra industrial modern intimate vibe with gray polished stone flooring with an open ceiling exposing the metal rafters and a/c tubing, accented by dark green ferns on the walls and tables. The laughter from five girls at a back table echoed throughout the cafe, which was a good start. The barista was chatty and all smiles while she took my order quickly with no hiccups. The Guatemalan dark roast espresso beans are sourced from PumpHouse Coffee in WPB. It was presented in a mini cup with the Drip Coffee logo imprint - this is such a simple inexpensive marketing tool that most cafes do not take advantage of. This is another cafe with a cashless tranaction process. Understandably, tipping is digital, but at the least there should be a tip jar as an option for cash. Found sanctuary at a table with a semi comfortable low stool. The Guatemalan coffee was strong and cut it with a shot of heavy cream. Usually I consume medium roast coffee, although this mimicked a few strong Austrian blends and was sublime and appreciated. The gender neutral bathroom screamed "WoW Impressive"! Instantly I pondered, the owners took their artistic vision to another level. Spotless, spotless, spotless, more greenery with thin wooden slats covering the ceiling and the low lit led hollow rough rock mirror hovered above the gray square deep sink. Washing my hands were more of a delight than a necessity. "Clean Bathroom = Clean Kitchen". No doubt that I will return to this eatery. Great coffee and a wonderful experience.
