Use them at your peril. My 22KW unit was installed by OC Generators about 15 months ago and worked fine until a recent SCE power outage. The unit started but didn't transfer electricity to the home. I contacted them and even spoke to Janie about my problem. They sent a guy out that was only qualified to change the oil, so I once again attempted to get a response only to hit a wall. I left messages at their numbers and even tried to call Janie again only to find that her number was no longer in service. Based on some of the other reviews here, they have gone belly-up. I contacted another Generac dealer (EPX) here in Temecula. They arrived today and replaced a defective coil in the transfer switch. All is good again.... read more

Do not use this company they installed a home generator for me and caused over a $1,000 in electrical damage to my kitchen. My electrician found the problem and proved they caused the issue and they still refused to make it right. The installation process was smooth & completed in just one day. Great install crew, very efficient. The generator itself is also fantastic. But this company's follow-up is atrocious, insofar as there is NONE. Zero. Zilch. They don't return phone calls, don't answer e-mails & more or less pull a Houdini once the install's complete & the checks been made out. Which means my warranty is probably worthless & I can give-up on any expectations of receiving future maintenance services from these guys. Could have been better, hence the 2 stars. read more

I first had my initial meeting with this company on March 30 of 2019. It is now 15 months and 2 weeks later. Let me repeat: FIFTEEN MONTHS. If you are not in any hurry to set up a back up generator system for your home, and you do not mind astonishingly outrageous delays that are created by the company themselves, and a remarkable lack of communication and follow up, Graham these are the folks for you. Bear in mind, I am NOT faulting them for delays caused by the government agency's involved in giving permits. Of course, I don't have any proof that the County of San Diego is at fault, because even though I've repeatedly asked, this company won't give me a copy of my submitted plans to that I can see when the plans were submitted, processed, and returned to them. (When you submit applications to the County, they stamp the documents with your submitted date, again when it's processed, and the date they send the application back to you. County of San Diego is kind of wonderful like that). I gave them a $1200 fee to have my applications and fees processed and submitted to the county, and I can only hope that I would be able to get that back, from GenerAC themselves, since it is general corporation that is the one that referred me to this company. At rhis point I've given up on ever having a GenerAC system installed, so will have to turn to their competitors. I can think of exactly ZERO reasons why it should take over 15 months to even get the permit ready, and they tell me that there is anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks lead time before the generator would be delivered, assuming I ever got to that point. That means that IF the permit were approved by the end of July 2020 (SIXTEEN months), it would take a minimum of 8 weeks to receive the generator -- end of September 2020: EIGHTEEN months -- but most likely 16 weeks, end November 2020: TWENTY months. So the install MIGHT happen in December, but realistically on January 2021: 22 months. Yeah, I'll just go ahead and get in touch with one of GenerAC Corporation's competitors. read more

After some fire related power outages, I decided to purchase a whole house back up generator for our 8000 sq ft house. Found OC via a neighbor who recommended them. They proved to be very knowledgeable about both the System options and the pros/cons of the city inspection process. I also got bid from 3 companies and they were most price competitive. They were also very upfront about ALL the costs and challenges involved. The installation went very smoothly, and they've been very responsive to any questions I've had since. They are also doing the recurring maintenance on the unit for a very reasonable price. Recommend highly! read more

I was pleased with the initial installation of my Generac whole house generator but very displeased with follow up service. I was told at the time of installation when the light on the side of the unit turned yellow to call O C Generators to come & service the generator which included an oil change. I called Janie Patison on April 12, 2021 to inform her the yellow light was on. She texted they would schedule the service in the next few weeks. No one called or texted. I called to inquire and no one responded to my calls or texts. I called Generac's corporate customer service for assistance. Sonia at Generac HQ called Janie on my behalf to assist with service. Janie emailed me the same day stating Beau would be out the following day for service. Beau was a no show. I emailed Janie the following day and she said there was an emergency in LA and someone would be out today. It's 10:30 a.m. no call regarding a time and still a no show. I would recommend another Generac dealer if you need reliable customer service. read more

I contacted OC Generators in March of 2021 to secure an estimate for a whole-home generator. In May, we contracted with them for the installation. After much back & forth with their engineer/designer & the county, we finally received permit approval & had scheduled installation for today, August 9th. Janie Pattison texted me one hour before the crew was to arrive and advised that OC Generators had been "shut down, effective immediately" and that their attorney would contact me regarding my deposit. After 5 months of back & forth, to be told on the DAY OF installation that they've been shut down is beyond negligence. I can't imagine that they didn't know this was coming, yet they never advised me. They refused to give me the name/contact info of their attorney, instead they expect me to trust that the attorney will get in touch with me? No. I'm a proactive consumer & I will not be pushed around. Stay away from OC Generators. read more
