About an hour later the work is completed and he showed me what was done and provided me information such as what switch he connected to. No drywall repair or paint was needed. Tom came to assess, said he could fix but seemed hesitant. Our house is old, we had an ugly old non working swamp cooler sitting on our roof w a big gaping hole in our hallway. We asked if he could work on the swamp cooler too which he said yes, but he actually suggested we consider upgrading to central heating and air. I laughed at that because I had a few quotes from others (central heating and air has been my dream since I bought this old freezing house). The quotes I received from a Costco partner was $50K! You read that right, $50,000. Another was $30k. As you can see w quotes like that my chuckle at Tom's suggestion of central heating and air was warranted. However, when I mentioned my previous quotes I think Tom might have laughed. He quoted us for the removal of the wall heater, swamp cooler, and a brand new central heating and air unit, not even 1/2 the price of one of the lowest quotes I'd received. We couldn't believe it. We jumped on it and his team got started a few days later. Watching them work together was literally a joy. Talk about team work! Always on time, clean and efficient, the job was done in a few days. I've lived in this house since 2009, and I no longer have to wear layers to bed. My husband helped me connect my Ethernet cable to my work station that is located in the room behind our closet. In order to do this, he went through two walls and found out he punctured through our hvac duct. Oopsie. We saw pink insulation and knew it was our boo boo. Sean was my tech for the day. They have a nice text notification of the tech with a small biography. This was a nice personal touch. Sean was so kind to wait 10mins for me while I finished a work call. He was friendly and professional. I informed him of the issue we identified and he was able to verify we did in fact puncture it with a scope. He showed me the photos after. While he waited for the owner to assess the project for pricing estimate. After he got the estimate from his boss, he explained everything to me. He even hand wrote the estimate in cursive- a lost art that I appreciated seeing. Even though I did not go with either one of my estimates due to high pricing for a relatively small project ($945 Haven, $850, $1025), I greatly appreciated the great service from Sean. SCE came out and said the wiring behind the meter was damaged and overheating. We were afraid of it catching fire, plus we had people coming over that night and we didn't have power in the kitchen and half the house.
