Very interesting experience! Wanted to try something new and different. We did the San Juan Capistrano tour. It was my first time here and I love the area, so cute and lovely with lots of cute restaurants nearby so good place to hang out for dinner before the tour. We parked in the parking structure super close to the where the tour meeting started. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but some of the parts were hard to hear as her voice wasn't super loud and the train and liveliness of the town drowned her voice out at some parts. I like that they carry an iPad like device to show us pictures with the stories to get visuals. We also got to meet Chris, the head as he was training some new tour guides. He stopped by towards the end of our tour and told us stories. He is incredibly enthusiastic and great. I'm not a big believer in paranormal things but definitely felt spooked when he talked. I participated in the Oman House Lockdown last evening. I had been excited for weeks leading up to it. I arrived and immediately got ill. It was too much for me and my empath nature. BUT...this team. Wow. I was determined to tough it out. Heather, Anna, Roger, I can't say enough about how amazing they were and how great they took care of me and what I was experiencing. They said this can happen there. Dixie did a cleansing for me before leaving and I felt fine afterwards. They were the utmost professionals and so fun too! Even with my hard evening experiencing all I did I will join them again in the future in a heartbeat!! read more

Ghosts, legends and definitely a whole lot of history here. I bought tickets for the San Juan Capistrano Ghost Tour with this group to celebrate my friend's birthday as we do enjoy a good birthday ghost tour as we have done in the past at other places. The tour met up with our "ghost hosts" by the railroad tracks near the Hummingbird Cafe in SJC. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and dress accordingly, with perhaps a jacket, as it gets chilly in the evening. Our tour started at 8pm. We were walked along various parts of SJC, a lot in the historic Los Rios area. It is amazing how old some of the structures still standing on Los Rios are. We were told of the many historical buildings and figures and ghosts that are in the area. Mika, our ghost host leading the tour, educated us about so many interesting aspects of SJC. Since so much is still existing from as far back as the late 1700s, you can imagine the history! ! We learned of the famous "Lady in White" who has been known to haunt the area and has been seen by many people, but, alas, she wasn't present that evening. We saw two actual hanging trees, and we were also brought to an area of a former graveyard where all the headstones were cleared away when the city thought perhaps they would build a park there. After protests from locals, it was deemed a poor idea (think "Poltergeist") and the park was built a bit down from the area. This San Juan Capistrano ghost tour is one of several tours OC Ghosts and Legends offers. This tour seemed to be offered some Friday evenings during the month. We just did a lockdown at Camino Del Rio Playhouse. The place was quite the hot bed of activity. For anyone who is going on an investigation for the first time, I would highly recommend this location. We had a mix of shadow figures, haunted objects, and unexplained phenomenon. The staff, Heather, Roger, Diane and crew, were very professional and helped facilitate the investigation by throwing out ideas on how to investigate and provided a variety of equipment to play with. I can't give enough stars to these guys! This is my second event, first being Bracken Fern Manor, can't wait for our next one. read more

This tour wasn't cheesy - it was raw, real and had us convinced that there are spirits at work in this world! Heather was very knowledgeable and very funny. We had the pleasure of staying at the Bracken Fern Manor in the Lilly room for an over-night "ghost-hunt" and had a wonderful experience with some knocking and jiggling of the door as well as some unexplained whispering. A friend wanted to do this for her birthday. I was skeptical but hey. We had a great time. The tour guide was fun and informative and kept things interesting. His story telling could use some work but did not get bored. The group we were with was quiet and did not participate much even though he tried to bring them in to the conversation. We were eager to learn more about the interesting and unique history of San Juan Capistrano, knowing that it has had a violent and colorful past. Instead we got a diluted history lesson that was neither scary nor fact-based. Our children have learned scarier stories about SJC from their elementary school teachers. No instructions were even given on where to meet the tour so we walked around in the dark, saying "ghost tours? Ghost tours?" until we happened upon our tour guide.
