UPDATE: 9/25/25 I am already back at court to do what my…read moreattorney failed to do. I had a mediation 8/4/25, and he ghosted me (see photos). Before my mediation and trial in May, he also ghosted me (still charged me though), and then told me it will look bad in front of the judge if I go without him. Most unbelievably, he retaliated against my honest yelp review and put it in an email (see photos). I signed the substitution of attorney (terminating services) on 8/18/25 (see attached), immediately after the trail, because this attorney did not even ensure the two main things I wanted, pick-up/drop-off time listed on the custody agreement and to use the Talking Parents app, were added to the custody agreement. So literally, he did nothing but show me he has a chip on his shoulder about females. I received a bill dated 8/30/25 that Mr. Khan texted was the final bill at $1,545.90. Nearly one month after I signed the substitution of attorney (and coincidently right after he commented on my Yelp review), I suddenly have a second final invoice for over $6,000 with a date of 9/16/25. Suffice it to say I reported him to the Bar Association and Yelp. I stand by my 5-star initial review of the intake and consult; his office staff were amazing! This was such an experience that I almost forgot a crucial detail. See the pictures from our communication on the app he requests his customers to use. I sent him my custody modification 5/12/25 via the app and email, and he used the old form from 02/2024 and gave that one to my ex and his staff! Do you want to guess if he billed me for it? He sure did-twice! I outlined these in yellow and black. He tried to fix his mistake days before my trial, so I prepared my own binder, to which he replied the judge would be annoyed with. He also charged me $270.00 and listed: Prepared binder for trial. Run from this man. I just keep reporting his comments to Yelp because he is calling me a liar for giving an honest review with evidence. 9/26/25: Thank you yelp support, at least he changed his comments.

Some pros and cons. This company is basically a legal document repository, not an attorney's…read moreoffice. They do not provide legal advice. Came here to get a legal document for real estate purposes. Was referred here because I was told that this company has legal templates that you can request at a much discounted rate than going to an attorney's office. I received one document and it costed $500. Included in the fee is the notary fee which would be $15 at UPS. The document itself was very bare at best and did not contain verbiage to cover any specific potential issues or nuances. I later did some research on the internet and found a much more comprehensive template for free. The $ they charge is not a discount from going to an attorney, they basically give you a super simple template with no customization and charge you a pretty hefty fee. The documents offers no legal protection due to their simplicity. Save yourself the money and the risk and go to a real attorney.

My opinion is that the response Mr. Stivers submitted covered all legal bases, and provided other similar rulings in similar cases. I believe this was the difference between having a ruling in my favor and losing with a ruling not in my favor. Mr. Stivers is a highly competent attorney. I was with a different law firm at the beginning of my case. A "bigger" more "famous" law firm that specialized in workers comp. After the initial consultation with them I had to constantly track them down and no one would get back to me. They filed a claim full of mistakes, some as obvious the date of injury or address, and never fixed it even after I reached out to them multiple times. I was very disappointed and felt a bit hopeless until Ryan came along. He had to work backwards and fix the mistakes that my previous law firm made as well as fight the insurance company and employer. I highly recommend his services. Sylvia takes unethical to a new level. My family has been through so much pain trying to undo so much damage she caused by allowing a personal relationship to supersede her standard of professionalism. She created a nightmare for my husband's family, who placed their trust in her, by convincing my vulnerable, elderly father-in-law to turn over his rights to someone who was financially abusive toward him. In doing so, she enabled a greedy, mentally unstable family member who can't keep a dime in her pocket to get away with unimaginable actions against my father-in-law's trust. This family member continues to taunt her siblings about all the things she's managed to get away with as a result of Sylvia's irresponsible support and friendship. She took complete advantage of a position of authority. No ethical lawyer would allow a personal relationship to get in the way of ethics and professionalism, and that's exactly what Sylvia did. I also felt she did not maintain a neutral stance and demonstrated bias throughout the process. Additionally, our case was delayed for several months because a professional she preferred to use for retirement assessment was unavailable, rather than seeking an alternative. After we ended our work with her, I was unable to obtain an itemized bill despite requesting one. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering a different mediator.
