Sylvia took $1250 to file guardianship paperwork for 2 children with OC court. 10 months later, I find out that she never filled with court. Law offices of Richard Young should have never recommended her, knowing that she has a history of taking the money and providing no service. I will go to small claims court to try and get my money back. I recommend other people to do the same, so hopefully it will stop her from taking advantage of vulnerable people. read more

I paid Sylvia $700 up front to start the process of filing for divorce. I ended up not going through the divorce and she still kept the $700. The filing for divorce was supposed to be only $200 and she was supposed to give me a refund for $500 but instead she said that it will be kept as a credit that I can use at her office for services. What a thief!! On top of that she was always rude and demeaning towards me because I am a stay at home mom and said that I should get a paying job. read more

Pretend paralegal who exploits people in difficult situations. I made the dire mistake of using Sylvia Garcia at OC Legal Self-Help Center. Do not make the same mistake. Sylvia assured me that she would expedite my work with a result in 3 business days. I needed a date from the courts urgently. Instead, she charged $575 for 15 minutes for filling out a form and did it incorrectly, too. She intentionally did not provide a written contract knowing full well that she was misrepresenting her scope of services. When I figured out she didn't get the work done, I started to call and I would-be put-on hold and promised call backs. She does not return calls and has avoided me at all cost. I had to take time out of my day and set up appointments with the real Self-help office at Lamoreaux Justice Center. Self-help informed me that unfortunately, this is a common case with being lied to by pretend paralegals who exploit people in difficult situations. Do not get misled by her friendly act in person or her explanations defending her negative online reviews. Those negative reviews are the only ones you need to focus on before using her service. Try Self-help at the courts, they do a far stellar job than she is capable of. I will be reporting Sylvia Garcia to the bureau. read more

Hello, I was going through a stressful divorce in which I did not even know where to start especially with the legal forms. I read a review on the pictures here and was wanting to let you know a different spectrum of what I have experienced at this company. My husband were experiencing difficulties and I went to file a mutual divorce at Sylvia's business. I had a divorce in the past and was dreading he process. Divorce Attorney's have a tendency to pretend to have a extreme dislike for each other with customers, all the while it's typically one of their best friends the more they say they dislike another attorney. They work together to get you and your spouse to fight each other, convincing you that you should fight for a large amount and that you would win be it child custody, financially, what ever the case. At the end of a divorce you can sometimes spend millions of dollars in Attorney's fees, just to end up splitting everything down the middle. Child custody is part of a mandated law for time limits, everyone gets the same depending on the age of the child. In the end, you end up permanently destroying a relationship with someone you once cared about through all the back and forth, everyone ends up with exactly what the law is and not what you feel you are owed, and now your broke from Attorney's fees while the Attorney's walk away with financial stability and happy families. It's a nightmare. This is a clean cut process. Sylvia is so ethical, she even double checked that we wanted to move forward, almost NO ATTOURNEY wants things to work because they don't get paid. Not Sylvia. I have never met someone with more class. If you need anything done I would HIGHLY recommend her and her company. Genuinely good people are rare to find, but she is one of them. Lady in the front was super rude by making it clear that she only wanted my money..and simply because I am young she was insinuating that I wouldn't be able to afford it. Rude, Rude, rude, and rude. When the lawyer told her to send me back there to speak to him really quick...she told him no " she just needs an appointment" she turned to me and said "that will be $200. " I said no thank you and she snarled at me. The point is I went in there asking them if it would be best for me to just do it myself or get a lawyer..and that is why the lawyer just wanted to speak to me really quick but she insisted I pay for any words. And before this I asked a custody question and she started off answering it by saying THAT SHE IS THINKING LOGICALLY AND I AM NOT AND THAT SHE WOULD KNOW BECAUSE SHE HAS WORKED THERE 7 YEARS! WHO SAYS THAT TO A POTENTIAL CLIENT??? really wanted this place to be cool because it is so close to my house...NEVER RECOMENDING!! RUDE people not looking to help you here! Silvia was very unresponsive to me and my efforts to receive the accounting for a trust. She kept telling me that it was in the mail for weeks. I received nothing from her and also extremely hard to get her on the phone. Constant lies telling me that things were getting done but in the end I received nothing from her. Needed a 'deed' quick for a 'refi'. Spoke to Sylvia - same day app. Quick efficient $225 dollars for 15 min worth. She promised you will have the deed in the morning. After several calls the next day my husband had to drive and PICK UP the deed 2 days later. It's by ignorance and poor customer service you loose customers. I would not recommend this place. There is plenty of professional paralegals out there. read more
