Lindsey is a dream come true! I'm so thankful that God led me to Lindsey's office. As a first time parent I wanted to do the best I could for my baby and Lindsey did not disappoint! From the first time my husband and I met with her we knew home birth was the right thing for our growing family. Lindsey is so knowledgeable and will make you feel like family. She was available to me anytime I had a worry or concern. She made us feel so at ease with the whole process. Lindsey also makes sure that you get to have the birth that you have always wanted but didn't know if it was possible. She empowered me and helped me remember my power. Thanks to Lindsey I was able to bring my beautiful daughter into this world in the comfort of my own home. Can not wait to do it again. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me; before, during, and after my labor!

Lindsey is nothing short of amazing when it comes to pre and postnatal care. I delivered my first baby with Lindsey's help in 2020. I had experienced loss prior to this pregnancy and was very anxious throughout. Every worry I had Lindsey eased my nerves and guided me into a calm state. Fast forward to my actual delivery her knowledge and experience really shined. The birth of our baby boy is something I will always treasure and I have Lindsey to thank for helping us achieve the home birth I have always dreamed of. Lindsey is a very confident and thoughtful care provider. Since I am a first time mom (and a worrier), Lindsey is still just a call or text away. Her advice is always spot on and she never makes me feel like I am crazy! Not only am I thankful for Lindsey's care and I am so thankful for her friendship.

Lindsey and her team have changed my life. I have birthed 3 of my five babies with Lindsey, the last 2 were twins! After having 2 intervention free hospital births, I was ready for a homebirth, with my 3rd child. My best friend had her first 2 children at home with Lindsey and after briefly meeting her, I knew she would be perfect for our family. During my pregnancy, I was fully supported through our monthly/weekly appointments, but also through text any time questions came up. While my 3rd birth was extremely quick, Lindsey and her team made it in time to get me in to the pool and welcome our sweet boy. Her words are magical and guiding. Her words reassure you of how powerful you are, guiding you gently to bring a new life in to the world. When we became pregnant with our fourth and final baby, we knew for sure we'd be having a homebirth with Lindsey again. Surprise, at 19 weeks, we found out it was twins, Lindsey and Ashlee there by our side supporting us through this wild news!! Having twins was a new world for us and I took Lindsey's advice of doing my research to see how we wanted to birth the twins. Her words to me were, 'Twins are another variation of normal, do your research, go see an OB, go see Dr. Stu, and then let's talk.' After meeting with 2 hospital OBs and Dr. Stu (OB who supports midwives at home), I knew that the only way I was going to get the birth I wanted was at home with Lindsey and Ashlee and their team. Throughout the pregnancy, Lindsey cared for me normally, but possibly with a little more excitement, because there was twice the love in my belly! My birth was absolutely perfect. It could not have gone any better. She sat by my side with her loving kind face and supported me when I wasn't sure I could do it. I birthed 2 babies 28 minutes apart and not once did I question if I could do it, because I had all the support I needed, I knew my babies were safe and I knew that if anything were to go wrong, I had the best team to care for me and the babies. Nothing at all went wrong, just 2 babies, 2 births, one labor. I still talk to Lindsey at least once a week. She answers any questions I have from sick babies, to weird postpartum issues, to setting me up with new friends to help feed my babies breastmilk. She is my friend. Lindsey will forever be in our lives. I just wish I got to hang out with her more.

I can't rave enough about the excellent care that I and my baby received from Lindsey Meehleis. I could have never imagined what it would be like giving birth during a pandemic but there we were. At 37 weeks I changed our birth plan to a home birth. Despite what was going on around us this was the best decision for myself and the baby. And never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how amazing it would be. Laboring at home with Lindsey, the birth assistant and husband was absolutely the most relaxing, supportive and encouraging experience. And then I was holding my son in my arms in the safety and comfort of my own home... all 10lbs 40z of him And I couldn't have done it without the most caring birth team.

Lindsey has been our family midwife for about 10 years. She was there to help my two nieces, nephew and my baby boy, enter this world. Throughout my prenatal care Lindsey was ALWAYS there to answer even the most simplest question and put my baby and me as a priority. She is very knowledgeable, prepared, experienced, respectful and patient. Even though I had already had three home births before my most recent one, I had a few times when I was scared, or nervous and Lindsey would always make sure to go over those fears with me, help me listen to my body and share her wisdom with me to help me understand why I was capable of doing this. All of my prenatal and postpartum care at OC midwifery is everything a woman can ask for. If you are looking for personalized, professional and safe care, Lindsey is the midwife for you.

I felt so incredibly safe & honored while under the care of Lindsey & her team. Throughout my pregnancy, birth & postpartum experience, she offered insightful, trusting, compassionate care. The most important thing to me during this birth of my third child was to be respected as the authority over my own body & for my baby and I to be trusted to do our work together without unnecessary interference. Lindsey was hands off in the best way...available & attentive, yet provided me space to birth my baby on my own right into the hands of my husband. It was epic! Thank you Lindsey for the wisdom you bring into the birth space. It's priceless!

I cannot recommend Lindsey more! After having three hospital births, we had no idea what to expect with a home birth for our fourth child. Lindsey was the perfect person to guide me. She empowered me while also creating a calming atmosphere. Her knowledge of birthing and babies was apparent throughout the entire pregnancy. I felt so loved and cared for the entire time. I did not expect the experience to be so personal, it felt as though Lindsey was a lifelong friend. I cannot imagine going through it with anyone else. If you are considering a midwife, Lindsey is the best choice!

At nearly 3 births in, our family has plenty to say about the journey of pregnancy. But since the aim of this review is clarity and brevity, this dad will save many of the details and get to the heart of the matter. Why are we having Lindsey as our midwife for our third child? To put it mildly, our last experience with her (home water birth) for our second was the antithesis of our firstborn (PROM leading to hospital birth 5 weeks early). You can read about our first experience here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/beach-cities-midwifery-and-womens-health-care-long-beach?hrid=5Wk8RbnyBNkN2xgLZJZccg&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) On top of our journey as a family towards natural health and wellness, we've connected with an amazingly genuine woman who has devoted her life and career to helping families in her own journey as a mother and professional. Her transparency and professionalism as a midwife, coupled with her responsiveness and honesty as a friend, have made our connection to her undeniable and our return to her unquestionable. We look forward to yet another amazing and loving experience with her as we welcome our third child into our family. [+] + Lindsey's own story serves as the backbone for the immensity and depth of her knowledge. In other words, she's definitely been there. And certainly done that. + Lindsey's availability through text, phone, social media, etc. is exceptional. Being able to reach her anytime is an immeasurable comfort. + The experience of Lindsey and her team coming into the sacred space of your home to facilitate the peace and security of a birth is one of the most unique and fulfilling experiences I've ever experienced as a parent. Quite the opposite of the often-dramatized delivery room chaos that dominates the public consciousness. [-] - The best things in life aren't always free. This is no exception. And this also shouldn't count as a non-positive point towards OC Midwifery or Lindsey, but in the interest of not making this review entirely unbalanced, I will mention that cost is worth noting. It's a subjective issue that varies widely in Orange County, however for some growing families it can certainly be a challenge. Ideally, these services would be covered by our insurance. But alas, they are not and so the out of pocket expenses are probably our least desired aspect of the overall experience. That being said, cost means nothing in the end when you've had an amazing birth experience with Lindsey and her team.

    Amanda M.

This is my second homebirth with Lindsey! I couldn't imagine another midwife at my side. She is incredible and knowledgeable. The best in OC... and probably the world. I love her sooo much and can't wait to have my third baby just so I could hire Lindsey again!! Ha!

    Milana Z.

Simply the best! Prior to meeting Lindsey we spend 3-4 weeks with two different doctors. Not happy with the time, attentiveness, and information given we sought other options. Meeting Lindsey we knew she was what we were looking for, someone who listens and provides real advice on how to have a health pregnancy. We immediately felt so fortunate once we met her. We felt we were in the hands of someone who cared about us and her personal reputation. We were happy to be out of the hospitals. All our research held true to every word Lindsey said. As far as cost it came out to about the same as what we would have paid with Blue Cross PPO in a hospital.

I loved how soft, sweet & gentle she was. I also appreciated how she remained calm & grounded as my baby was born with his cord wrapped around his neck. She was on top of it and everything worked out smoothly, which I am so grateful for. She was great then & even more amazing when I had the pleasure of having her as my midwife for my 3rd baby boy! As my midwife, Lauren was very involved and attentive to every single need and desire I had. She was so supportive, which meant the world to me. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable and is still always building on that knowledge which I love! With her in charge, I felt more at ease during this pregnancy & especially during my delivery. She genuinely cares. She's there when you need her, even far after delivery. That includes being on top of all the paperwork too! We had Lauren encapsulate my placenta after both births with no complaints. We also loved the umbilical cord art she made. Should I decide to be so daring to have baby #4, I hope to have her by my side again! She is absolutely amazing!

I went with a midwifery that operated more like a company rather than a personalized experience. This other midwifery missed my 2nd child's birth. Being pregnant with my 3rd, I still wanted to have a natural home birth but with a midwife who will be there every step of the way and not miss my birth! Melanie immediately sympathize with my experience and assured me that she would never want that to happen to me...especially because it happened to her with the same midwifery! I knew right then and there she was my gal. Her prenatal care was pleasant and enjoyable. She cared about me as a whole. We spent so much of my time talking and I felt more excited and positive about my birthing. She is kind, knowledgeable and confident. I had a couple times when my contractions that were pretty far apart but I still wanted Melanie to know. She didn't blow me off but checked in on me to see if things progressed. I still didn't have the baby. Finally when I had contractions that were 2-10 mins apart, I called her saying I think the baby was going to come. Eventhough the contractions were not consistent, she asked me if I believed it was strong like real labor contractions. I said yes and she was at my front door 45 mins later. An hour later I had the baby! She didn't miss my birth and let me guide my instincts. During my labor, she was helping me relax which help so much. Instead of brief 5 minute appointments, I had informative conversations and all my questions/concerns were answered. I wasn't able to make it to the midwifery birthing suite because I never got to 6cm dilation on my own. My birth did not go to plan at all, my water broke at 3:55am I labored at home for almost 3 hours at 3 to 5 minutes apart with my contractions. Midwife Diane encouraged us to labor at home as long as possible, but we live 35-45 minutes away, so I went to the hospital and was admitted to L&D, but for about 18 hours I was only 1.5cm dilated and my contractions slowed down. Since my water was broken for more than 24 hours I had to start antibiotics for my baby, and after much deliberation with my midwife, I ended up with the epidural and a low dose of pitocin. It was highly disappointing to be unable to stay at the birthing suite, I wish they'd admit sooner the 6cm dilation, but Midwife Julie was absolutely wonderful, she went over all my options and helped me figure out the most peaceful actions to take for my labor. She helped me not feel totally discouraged, you can tell she really put mama first and actually cares! It was wonderful having her deliver my baby, especially because she is the midwife I'd seen the most. I think she helped prevent me from tearing terribly with her techniques. Baby girl was delivered safely, and I was able to rest before delivering her. I had over an hour of skin to skin before they examined her, and all of my birth plan for postpartum was met. I think the hardest part was just my shattered expectations my original birth plan, and a nurse named Pauola who kept jabbing me with needles says "oops your vein exploded, let me try another vein". I also requested no students and that same nurse brought in some nurses-in-training to learn how to set up the Nitrious Oxide, but the students, funny enough, got it working because the nurse didn't turn it on correctly. As for the midwives, every single one I met was absolutely WONDERFUL. They made me feel super confident and excited about giving birth, and I felt extremely supported! I labored for 30 hours, but I'm so grateful for my midwife. Even though my actual labor wasn't according to plan, it was beautiful, and peaceful and I would 1000% do it all over again. The few times I spoke to the head midwife Christina, she was also really informative and kind! I truly had a great experience. I can't wait (...well, I can wait a little bit) to have my next baby with the midwives! Hopefully this little girl made way for the next on to come easier and that I can make it to the birthing suite. If you give birth here, you are in exceptional care!! You're in good hands with Christiana, Julie and the other midwives.

I've had two home births with Sue and I recommend her to anyone who wants a home birth. Her…read moreexperience and knowledge are unmatched, and she always gave me the confidence I needed. After a not so stellar experience with the local birth center for my first baby, I was so thankful to have Sue. I never felt rushed, and she always made me feel like my concerns were valid. When I had my first baby with Sue, I did start bleeding a lot after the baby was born, but Sue handled it without panicking or making me panic. The second home birth went really smooth and no issues. My two boys born at home have been so healthy and I honestly can't say enough good things about Sue!

When my…read morehusband and I decided on a home birth we were recommend Sue as a midwife from a well trusted friend who had gone through the process with her. There was an instant connection and we knew she would be the best fit for our growing family. Not only is Sue warm hearted, trustworthy and reliable, she is extremely good at what she does. Here are some numbers if you are more of a factual person. Sue has attended over 700 home births and out of those her hospital transport for c-section rate is about 3%. Hospital rates are about 35% or greater. Holy smokes isn't that incredible. That is a ton of healthy babies that she has successfully brought into this world providing not only the mamas but also the families with a tremendous amount of love and support. An added bonus is Sue is always accessible via text or calls for any questions or concerns that may come up. Also, I highly recommend the documentary( the business of being born). Extremely informative and was another added bonus on why a home birth was best for our family. I can't forget to mention I had the most caring and supportive doula Tessa alongside with Sue. I know I forever have a friend and am over the moon thankful for everything she has done not only for me personally but also for our family.

Even though this was my third pregnancy, I learned so much about how to care for myself and my baby. I loved that she wasn't pushy, but gave us the facts and let us make our own decisions. We often covered the importance of exercise and nutrition, and I made changes from that, which I believe contributed to a smoother and easier pregnancy than my first two. She also was so calm and professional throughout my labor and delivery. My husband noted how much he appreciated her composure during the most intense moments of my labor. She's the kind of person you'd want by your side when you're not in the right frame of mind. She also collaborated very well with her assistant, respecting her skills and experience during my postpartum assessment. We loved having her as our first midwife and home birth experience and will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!

I interviewed so many great midwives, but as soon as I met Ana, I knew she was the right fit. She took me on late in my pregnancy (27ish weeks), and onboarding with her was so easy. The care that I received from her was supportive, kind, compassionate and steady. I appreciate how calm and nurturing she is while staying firm in her knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and of a woman's body overall. Her care is holistic and evidence-based, and she makes her clients actual partners in their care. We never did anything that I was uncomfortable with (which is almost unheard of in a hospital birth). When I started to go overdue, she was there to reassure me, and because she genuinely trusts the process of birth, she helped me trust my body as well. I had an absolutely amazing birth experience that my husband and I wouldn't trade for anything. My baby is two now (sorry this is so late!), but I still think of Ana often and so fondly. She became part of our family for the time she was with us and I will always love her for helping me have the birth experience of my dreams (even at 43 years old). Thank you Ana!

From the moment we met her, we just knew she was the perfect fit for us. This was our first baby, and she guided us through everything. She answered all of our questions, made us feel so supported, and honestly exceeded every expectation we had. I also really loved that she's the perfect balance of holistic, but will absolutely speak up if something medical is needed. You can tell her top priority is always keeping both mom and baby safe. We also took her Bradley Method class, which was so helpful and made me feel way more prepared and confident going into birth. We learned so much, and I've already been recommending it to everyone. I fully trusted her the entire time, which made such a difference for me going into labor and birth. Throughout my labor, she was there at any time of day to answer my calls and questions, and she always helped me feel calm and educated about what was happening. On the day of the birth, she was calm, confident, and completely in her element. She made the whole experience feel so smooth and magical. I recommend Christy to anyone, and I already know I'll want her as my midwife for all of my future babies
