Dr. Ahn is the best! I had a pretty bad wisdom tooth infection last year, since it's a pretty gnarly impacted wisdom tooth, my dentist can't really do it and referred me to his office for the surgery. Now my wisdom tooth has been bothering me for several years, and since it's really close to the nerve & I'm a bit old for wisdom tooth surgery (just turned 30), I'm really nervous before went into the consultation. However the consult went super well, Dr. Ahn walked me through the treatment plan very thoroughly and patiently, his professionalism and knowledge truly calmed me down and actually made me looking forward to finally get this resolved once and for all. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Ahn removed the wisdom tooth completely, did bone grafting to preserve the tooth next to it, as well as putting in some growth factor to help with the healing process. Best part of all? As someone who's extremely scared of pain, I didn't feel much pain at all during & after the surgery: with IV sedation I fell asleep almost right away, by the time I woke up it's already over. There's bit swelling and bleeding for the first 2~3 days, but when it comes to pain level it's probably a 2 at most (on a scale of 1 to 10), almost feel a bit too good to be true. Anyway I highly recommend Dr. Ahn to anyone who needs oral surgery done. He's truly an incredible surgeon & all of his staff at OC Oral Surgery are super responsive, caring and helpful too. Well. You get a little older, your regular dentist says we need a specialist and you think Great! Don't know this doctor, the extraction is not an easy one, I wonder how this one will go. That was the case when I arrived here and any misgivings my mind might have inserted, disappeared the moment I walked through the door. The staff is kind and efficient. They worked swiftly with my insurance providers so I had the answers I needed almost immediately. The Pre Op was complete and very informative. Three types of anesthesia, I chose to go all the way out due to an extraction that was a little complex. Day of the surgery I arrived and once again, I was met with a level of kind professionalism that instantly put my mind at ease. No one likes to have a tooth pulled and I am no exception. I was referred by my dear friend after visiting the office herself a few times. The reception staff was great and they were able to accommodate me with an appointment within the hour, which I'm so thankful for I had been in pain for 24hrs!! Upon arrival I noticed everyone in the office was following cdc guidelines and that was a relief. I was taken back to get some x rays and the machine they used was awesome and efficient. Dr. Junil Ahn was great, he had visuals to explain what was going on with my teeth and took the time to go over everything with me and was super reassuring. The procedure it self was great the two assistants were super caring and made me feel comforted when I could hear my heart rate go up lol. I'm 19 days post-op and feel like I've waited long enough to give a review. Dr. Ahn and his team of professionals are kind, patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and comforting. As someone with pretty severe medical anxiety, I knew a waiting room would never feel comfortable. But, when Spencer came out to grab me for x-rays and get me ready for my consultation with Dr. Ahn, it almost felt like a friend was talking to me, easing the tension of this situation. From the jump, I told Dr. Ahn about my fears, and he walked through everything, even offering to prescribe me some anti-anxiety meds for the day of surgery. Come the day of my removal, I took my medication and still felt a bit afraid. The girls at the front were friendly as always, Spencer came to get me again, Dr. Ahn welcomed me, and as they were setting up my I.V. I started to get really anxious so I said something, everyone reassured me but one employee really stood out. A woman sitting behind me in the room rubbed my shoulder and promised everything would be ok; it felt like my mom was there and was just what I needed to get me through. Coming out of surgery I asked her name: Sharron. I cried and cried going out to the car because I truly felt like she was an angel and I could not have done it without her. Because I'm on hormonal BC, I was part of the 3% that ended up with dry sockets. The pain was unbearable by day 4 and we called the office. The sweet girls at the front desk told us to come on in and they'd be waiting for us. They squeezed us into a very busy schedule and Dr. Ahn offered 2 solutions: a numbing gel or a packing that slowly releases a numbing agent. He put the numbing gel on and asked if that was enough relief, offering for me to try the packing or come back the next day if I decided I needed it. I was prescribed more pain medication to help, but my pharmacy showed no available pickup. I called back just to check with the office and was informed they sent it the day of my follow-up but they'd send again. It was an issue on my pharmacy's end but they didn't even question me. Within 15 mins of the phone call, I was picking up my medication. Recovery was rough. I was in pain until just a couple of days ago, but that's expected with dry sockets. It is annoying to overhaul an entire diet for an already inconvenient procedure. I know why people put it off, but if you're wondering who you should go with, this is your sign to go with Dr. Ahn's team. For reference, I did have a consultation with another highly-recommended team, but the woman at the front desk yelled at me in front of others because I couldn't fill out their 6 page, 300 question medical form in less than 15 mins. She then hugged me unconsentually multiple times and made me promise we were friends and that I wouldn't let it reflect in my choice to book with the surgeon before allowing me to leave. She even interrupted my consultation multiple times to make sure I wasn't crying and didn't tell the oral surgeon. The other team I met was unprofessional, rushed, and lacked the friendly nature I found with Dr. Ahn's team, and I couldn't be happier about my choice. Thank you OC Oral Surgery! read more

One year ago, i had an infected implant. Dr Ahn extracted it, then he extracted the tooth next to it. He told me I had too much bone loss so a bone graft and implants would be impossible. He then wanted to yank out a third tooth leaving me with 3 missing teeth. I was resistant to the idea of having a third missing tooth and again asked about a bone graft. That made dr Ahn very angry calling me disrespectful for questioning him and ordering me out of his office. I was told I would only be allowed to return if I apologized and ...even then! I would never return, not ever! Instead I found a competent periodontis, younger than dr Ahn, well educated and current on all new methods. My new periodontist performed a sinus lift, a bone graft and will continue with implants once the healing process is complete and 'Bonus'...he never makes me cry! I will never understand why dr Ahn made me suffer for an entire year so unnecessarily. I don't understand cruelty. The only nice thing I can say pertains to his staff. These compassionate ladies were kind and comforted me, as all encounters with dr Ahn endend with me leaving in tears. read more

I have taken my daughter to see Dr. Ahn twice, which is obviously more than I would prefer for a newly 2 year old...but it is what it is. We had excellent care with Dr Ahn!! She was seen at 18 months for a frenectomy (lip tie). It was an issue since she was born, but we always found work around. When she was 18 months she was super behind in how she managed solids, but the frenectomy resolved that. Dr Ahn was caring and supportive and then anesthesiologist (Dr Yun) he works with is just as great! We were seen again last week for an infected tooth. Dr. Ahn & Dr Yun did a great job once again. It's so scary having to put your baby to sleep, and the doctors and office staff were sweet and supportive. My little girl is a total firecracker - very feisty and opinionated for a 2 year old ... but both doctors were patient with her and super sweet to her :) Honestly I hope we are done with this office, lol but if we need an oral surgeon again, we will come back here! read more

Dare I say that getting all my 4 wisdom teeth out was fun! I'm not kidding. I was talking to my family on the phone right after on the phone and was totally fine. Days before the surgery I was definitely very nervous and scared and stressed out as I haven't had anything done surgically since my tonsils when I was very young. Morning of surgery I meditated prayed and yogad a little. Fiancé did an amazing job comforting me. Got to the office. Waited maybe 5 minutes and was called in. Took a deep breath and reminded myself that I will literally not remember anything. When I sat in the chair I got increasingly nervous for just a minute until they quickly talked me through what was happening. But they assured me everything is going to go well. Started off with only three breaths on the laughing gas over my nose. On the second breath dr told me there will be a cold spray on my arm and the nurse over my head started caressing my forehead and hairline. Third breath I felt my body relax and heart rate calm down and I went to lala land and was out lol. Then I just remember getting woken up and asking if that was it. Either Dr. Ahn is a magician or I heal extremely fast. Or both. It's the third day and I haven't taken any pain meds yet. Haven't really had any pain since the surgery. Had only one pain attack for maybe 4 seconds because I stupidly rinsed my mouth out with cold water accidentally later in the day of surgery. LOL silly me. But literally nothing else but the normal tiny bit of itchy ness from the healing process. I'll update soon since this is only the 3rd day. So far so good. Thank you doctor Ahn. You're killin it and I'm confident you will continue to thrive in your career as more people hear about you. My whole family was stunned when I was able to speak and function normally without any pain right after. Every family member that had gotten theirs removed with other doctors were in pain after and very swollen. Non of that happened for me with doctor Ahn. I'm very grateful Update day 8: seems to be healing great. Haven't taken any pain meds since two days ago. Day 3,4, and 5 were the hardest because of the antibiotics only. They were really messing with my stomach, giving me nausea and hot and cold temperature. It was pretty bad for a day. Thankfully I called in and was told that I'm ok not to take the last couple rounds of antibiotics which then finally started the healing of my gut when I stopped taking them. Feeling totally normal since then. Just minor soreness obviously from the surgery. Have been eating burgers and toast no problem. read more

DO NOT SEE THIS DENTIST OR VISIT THIS OFFICE! They do not care about the customer and have extraordinary high prices. I called this office to receive an estimate for an implant. I was told to go to the office in order to receive an estimate. I went to the office and they collected all my information. After waiting and providing my information, the Dentisit told me I must see the Dentisit in order to receive a cost estimate for the implants. I asked the Dentisit "how much for an implant " and he told me he didn't know. I told him I had already done X-rays and 3D images and I left their office because they would not quote an estimate. I received a bill for $116 for a "consultation " which there was none and he wasted my time. This office is unorganized, unprofessional. Waste of time and money read more

My son had an appt to remove his wisdom teeth. On the day of surgery, we waited an hour in the waiting room before his surgery. Apparently, Dr Ahn was running late. Not one person from the office explained he was running late. Not one word. The waiting room was packed with patients. I would think that during this time of Covid 19, the office would of called me to advise the doctor was running late. Patients were complaining in the hot waiting room on how long they had been waiting as well while the staff conversed about their social life up front. I understand that surgeries can run late, but the front office could of let us know there would be a delay. We sat in the packed waiting room while the front office discussed their social plans for the weekend. Once my son was called back for surgery, the assistant was super rushed and acted put out that she had to get him ready for surgery. After his surgery, I was called back to see my son and go over his post operative instructions. The assistant was rushing through his instructions so fast as she was in a hurry to rush us out of the office. The assistant told us that the office would be calling my son in a week to follow up with him on how he was feeling. That did not happen! I was very disappointed in the service of Dr Ahm's staff! I have worked in an oral surgery office and we never treated our patients so poorly. I will never refer any of my family or friends to this office. My son had a horrible experience! read more

Just as a preface I have anxiety and was terrified about being "put under", as I have never had any kind of surgery or been put under for any reason. WELL, let me just say the fact that Dr. Ahn (who performed my procedure), Dr. Girard (whom I saw for my consultation) all of their assistants, and even the receptionists at the front desk were able to put someone with multiple anxiety disorders at ease speaks volumes for itself. They're all angels, every last person who works in his office. I would love to go back in and personally thank them! Update: It's the day after and I'm already up doing my housework etc. Feeling fantastic! I was recommended by my sister to come here to take out my 4 impacted wisdom teeth. I was really scared because i have never been put under. Once I got there the nurses made me feel super comfortable and relaxed. Dr.Girard is so amazing and lovely. The procedure was super quick and painless. It's the next day and i barely have any pain. My son needed his wisdom teeth out and Dr. Ahn was recommended to us by lots of his friends mother's (I asked around). I was nervous going into the consultation, but completely comfortable when we finished. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the office was pleasant, clean, and didn't smell "medical", and Dr. Ahn answered all my questions about anesthesia, pain killers, ice and packing. he didn't make me feel like a "crazy mom" and was very patient with me. When we arrived for the surgery, the staff treated my son wonderfully, kept me updated while I waited for him, and invited me back when he was finished, Although still feeling the effects of the drugs, my son was quite happy and we all had a good laugh. When we got home, he was still bleeding a few hours later so I called the office and they assured me, it sometimes happens and to have him bite down on a warm wet tea bag. That did the trick. They also called that night to see how he was doing. I loved that even though we were only there for wisdom teeth, and that he probably wouldn't see my son again, we felt like they took care of us as if he had been going to them for years.
