I have visited the Saturday market about 5-10 times now. I have been here for other events as well. I cannot believe I have not reviewed the market yet. This is one of my favorite things to do in Ocala. The market is only open on Saturdays from 9am-2pm, rain or shine. Other events are held here all other dates and times. I cannot stand the heat so I appreciate that the market is under a covered pavilion. There are some vendors that set up outside the pavilion because there is not enough room. The parking is free as well, with plenty of options in the surrounding areas. You don't have to walk far either. The market is extensive enough that you could easily spend 2-3 hours there. There are several food trucks you can purchase food and drinks from. Sipping Grounds is my favorite! They offer snacks, as well as coffee drinks, beer, wine, and mimosas. There are a variety of vendors, with many being staples each time I have visited. I usually stop by and purchase from the same vendors. There are several vendors selling vegetables and fruits, a farmer who sells cheese he makes, a seafood vendor, a vendor who sells dips, spices, and seasonings, another vendor sells oils & vinegars, bakery items are sold by several vendors, and usually there are a couple of vendors specializing in doggie treats. You can also sample a lot of these items, which is awesome. Of course there are vendors who sell jewelry, artwork, decor, pottery, etc. read more

The Ocala Downtown Market puts the actual "farm" back in farmer's market. Unlike those pseudo farmers markets out in California where people discuss their heirloom tomatoes, this place is where folks casually mention their cattle count and debate chicken acquisitions like they're discussing the weather. But don't let the farm talk fool you. There's serious variety here: grass fed beef suppliers, fresh eggs, wellness drink makers pushing sea moss and charcoal, potters working live, pottery, kitchen gear, clothing, and trinkets galore. It's a whole ecosystem of real farm life. I felt like I'd stepped directly into that world without actually being at a farm, which was wonderful until I realized my outfit didn't get the memo in my very short mini dress. Cute as can be, but everyone else was in jeans and tees. I stuck out like a designer purse at a livestock auction. Next time I'm definitely dressing down to blend in. The market is bustling and packed with options. You can skip Publix entirely and do all your grocery shopping here, just cheaper. Everything's cheaper. This is legitimately as close to farm life as you can get without actually stepping in cow manure. ... trust me, one wrong step in a mini dress and you will be fishing a high heel out of a very fresh cow pie.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ read more

So many vendors, so much variety of food, merchandise, other services and food trucks. We were excited about the kombucha vendor. There were few food trucks and of particular interest was the one selling Lobsters from Maine. This food truck was on shark tank. The lobster tasted good but it was oh so expensive. Every sandwich was at least $22 with not that much lobster actually. read more

Met some people at breakfast and they recommended this outdoor market. Open on Saturdays until 2 pm there's plenty of free parking. This is a nice market with rows and rows of locally grown produce, baked goods, crafts and nik naks. A lot of nice hand made items too. It's quite large, easy to get around. You can walk the whole market in an hour or two. I love supporting local small businesses. We had a good time buying honey, hand made candles and some unusual Florida Gator gear. read more

Super cute farmers market with many vendors ranging from veggies, food, and art. Parking is free and there is plenty. I bought donuts, lemonade, baba ganoush, and pickles. Enjoyed my visit. It's not a very large market and can easily be enjoyed in under an hour. read more

AMAZING MARKET! Tons of great vendors and they are there every Saturday. Sometimes they do special events on Sundays as well.

We really enjoyed this market. We are new to the area and wanted to check out a local market and this hit everything we were looking for. The merchants are all really friendly and had everything from fresh produce to products sold by vendors from jewelry to seafood to sweets. There was a lot of police there so you always felt secure. There were a few food trucks as well. There was plenty of parking nearby. read more

Small in comparison to other farmer's markets but really chocked full of local fruits, vegetables, oils and products. Prices were good and people were very friendly. Probably our favorite was the live entertainment, the singer played an acoustic guitar and sand everything from folk, blues, to contemporary Christian and the Fab Four. read more

This is the first time I have been there since COVID 19, and will be the last for awhile! I saw, 2 vendors, the young man with the sprouts in the back corner and the man from the olive oil shop on the square , with masks. 2 other vendors had them around their neck and pulled them up if you approached, as for the rest, let's forget about the whole thing, no spreaders out there! The was absolutely no social distancing, push shove, that's the tomato I want.... the prices were high, the variety was poor, and so this shopper came home with a few veggies, but nothing else! read more

This is one of the better markets I've shopped at in town. They certainly have a wide variety of vendors every week. From my fave chip man Bonjoe to homemade (sometimes healthy) treats for yourself or your furry friend. Their hours of 9-2 are ideal and some vendors stay late if needed. Ohhh, the parking! With all the construction it may be problematic so be patient and drive around the square a few times. ;) read more

Small farmers market in downtown Ocala, would have liked to see more of a selection. Went based off reviews that there were gluten free options. Maybe was just the day I went; but did not see many options. Like the cute atmosphere and live music playing during market. Produce was fresh and would go back just for this fact. read more

Nice way to support local farmers! Fresh produce, baked goods, eggs. Artisan cheese and breads. seafood and meats. Great way to start your Saturday morning. Competitive prices to grocery chains. So why would you not buy the freshest food avaliable for your family? A good selection of plants for gardeners. Original artisan crafter. The leather work was beautiful. I wish the Farmers Market Association would list the vendors that participate on its website. I'm from Detroit and we have access to the Eastern Market vendors, information so we can contact them for their services. Eastern market is the original farmer's markets. Saturday mornings are bloody Mary's and Blt lobster rolls or hot breakfast at the farmers restaurant... The Ocala market is a wonderful market. read more

I love buying my local, and sometimes organic, produce here. It's also fun to try the different goat products and the wonderful loaves of fresh bread. I always like to ask the vendors what they recommend, what's the freshest, the juiciest, and they will set you up right. For a great day date with your dearly beloved, I recommend you start with lunch at Latino's y Mas, hit the Farmer's Market, follow with a walk at Tuskawilla park, and be sure to make dinner with your fresh produce. After reading the reviews I was looking forward to a great farmers market. It was not worth the 25 mile trip and fortunately I had other business in Ocala. There were several vendors selling lotions, soaps and vendors selling different handmade items and only ONE produce stand. The cost of the items were just ridiculous. Example: one orange for $1.00, which I got later at Publix for .68. My husband and I walked through the place in 10 minutes, and took that long because he stopped to pet dogs. My quest for a good farmers market continues. read more

Currently the farmers market is in the center square SATURDAYS ONLY (or rather just off to the side in a parking lot) but will be soon moving a little more south east to another square. The reason being is a lot of the local stores think this market is taking away business. Not so much from selling stuff, but using up good parking spaces. Having said that it's a wonderful market, if you eat organic foods like I do. Not all the produce vendors are organic so you have to ask questions and find the right ones. There is a new vendor that sells homemade bread, which is a nice change from Yalaha bread who are just not reliable and are there once in a while. Good bread, but I drive 10 miles to get things from this market and I need people there each week. John, the new guy has more artisan breads and really knows his trade, nice guy too, and he's always there rain or shine. A lot of these vendors also sell their goods on Wednesdays, at The Circle Square, in the "On Top of the World" development off 80th Avenue, 2 miles north of St Rd 200. Do yourself a favor and visit this market. Chat with the vendors, ask questions and feel better for eating healthy, it's a nice day out and your body will thank you for it. read more

I attended the farmers market this morning and absolutely loved it! All the vendors were friendly and informative. They had several organic friendly stands, which made my day.... The local honey stand was the most impressive. I definitely intend on making this my Saturday ritual. read more
