When I asked for a quote it was my understanding that drilling to open two locked doors would not exceed $200.00 plus the service fee of $49.00....Once the locksmith Simon was in my home and he had already unlocked one door, he said it would be $180.00 per door plus the service fee of $49.00.... I was unable to reach Steve who was the man I had originally talked with...I was going to question him about the original quote to find out why the quote has suddenly more than doubled. The entire job took less than 10" We settled on a total charge of $400.00, Simon then said it would be $409.00....but then we got the receipt and he had charged $449.00... The entire experience was very unsettling. We definitely believe we were over charged...every extra charge was a surprise..not what we had agreed to on the telephone with Steve. We had an emergency and had to get a new key for our car. I called multiple places to get the key cut. This place was by far the most helpful. I strongly recommend if you need any key work done for your car (key fob etc) including reprogramming. Absolutely amazing! I had called my apartment complex emergency line and no one was answering and it was 4pm!!!! I called 10 times and finally someone answered and they said that they can send maintenance out but won't have an ETA and they would charge me 150$! they said I was better off calling a locksmith. which I did. I went to OCC Lock and Key be sue I needed an extra copy for my place and the owner was not only very fast in greeting me but also made a copy very fast and he has a promo for new customers (30%) so it turned out to be a Tito's of $2 and I didn't have cash on me so he was very generous and said not to worry about. He went above and beyond to help me and the key works as good as the one I handed him to make the copy. My in laws locked a bathroom door in their house. The door didn't have a key, and they had tried picking it to no avail. I requested a number of quotes through Yelp and Occ Lock and Key was definitely one of the fastest and most reasonably priced. He came by within an hour, and spent a few hours (!!) helping out my in laws because they had (by this point in time) destroyed another lock while trying to understand how the first lock worked. I was locked out of my apartment and quoted $65-75 on the phone. The job was done but it took an hour, calling for extra help, and I had to recommend a method. I was charged $75. I have had a lockout at a previous residence and it took 20 minutes, and my roommate had locked herself out and also had a service that took 20 minutes. One of my locks was also damaged by the drill, which was expected and fine since the screen is locked outside did that. I was not communicated to the lock would be replaced entirely and believed the existing one was getting fixed (I now realize this isn't possible and would have just left it as is). I was charged $35 for that today, when I was quoted $25, and I specifically asked to have the large truck parked outside and not in my neighbors driveway and it was parked there anyways. Also, in the future, please do not hug people without asking, I really do not like to be touched by strangers. The prices were very good but communication needs to improve. read more

Was not really interested in helping set a key to my new padlock. Tried to show me the obvious of a zero key working with the lock but no other key working. I told him zero bitted keys are not ideal and don't feel safe just leaving it as a zero bitted key and is the reason I wanted to set the lock to my own specific set of keys. The padlock brand instructions even says the lock is rekeyable and to take it to a locksmith to have specific keys made, and as I don't own a pin kit that's what I decided to do. After stating this, he said he would do it, with a bit of sarcasm under his breath about my earlier statement that these zero keys are common with these locks. I'm not really sure why the initial reluctancy, I just don't have the time to give business to a place that pushes back. Anyway, decide to leave without any work done.
