About a year ago I had Steve come out to fix my door. He quickly diagnosed that I had a broken spring. He replaced it in about 20 minutes and charged me $450. When he told me it was $450 it seemed high, but of course, I needed my door fixed, and since the company had so many good reviews, I thought it must be in the ballpark, so I agreed to it. In hindsight, I regret it, as I have discovered that that was significantly overpriced for the work that was done. Now, about a year later, I need to have the garage door opener (it's over 25-years-old) replaced, so I called up Urgent Garage Doors to get an estimate. This time I was prepared to walk away if it was overpriced, and I was curious to see if they were actually in the ballpark of what I would expect. My old (25-year old) Liftmaster was starting to fail, would no longer respond to remote control request to close the door. Steve came out the same day to diagnose the problem but since it wasn't a sensor issue there wasn't a lot more he could do than replace it with a new opener. Texted him the next day to see about replacing it and he responded right away, and came out that afternoon to replace the old unit with a brand new Liftmaster and recommended I replace the wheels on the garage door, which I did. Steve completed the job quickly and efficiently, and the garage door has never been quieter and the opener works great and even has some nice wifi-enabled features. Service was friendly, helpful and informative. The J arm pulled out of the garage somehow, they charged $130 to drill it back in. Seems steep, but everyone else way quoting around $150. I did ask if I should have the bracket installed which he said it's not worth it, but everything online says you need to. Urgent Garage Doors called me right away and sent someone out within 2 hours on a Sunday. Free quote and can do any repairs same day. They replaced my spring which was broken for $645, the other one was ok (another shop wanted to replace both without even seeing it). They also helped with sensors and even my in car opener to see if they can link it. They did that without charging extra Ilya was the one who helped and he did a very good job. He was honest when I asked about things like if I needed the motor replaced and when I asked about frequency of maintenance as good practice. He also did a good job explaining the mechanics to a dummy like me so I appreciate his patience. He quoted me a motor replacement for the future (as it still has time on it) and it was around $650- 700 as of today.
