The bathroom was very nice (although the faucet drain stopped was missing which made a watery mess, it was easily avoided after the first time). The check-in and check-out staff was very efficient and friendly. The ambiance fits the neighborhood and is old-school chic with nice furniture. The patio is a fantastic place to socialize and relax. Location: The proximity of this property to the South Beach bars, restaurants, and clubs can't be beat IF you're a person who likes to sleep at night...meaning you can't hear the music and loud people but you can quickly and safely walk to it. I was so thrilled this worked out, as I wanted to experience the area without having to be annoyed with drunk patrons at my building. Beach: The beach is two blocks away and very accessible. Soft sand, warm water, and a beautiful view nearly everywhere. I will be back, and this gem of a hotel will have my business again!

Restaurants are less than a block away and a CVS is one block distance for any last minute needs. They offer valet parking for about $40. But, parking in that area isn't too difficult. Check in was a quick and smooth process. The woman that assisted at the front was friendly. The courtyard is cozy and a nice spot to have a few drinks while preparing a night on the town. The rooms were small, but more than enough room as you don't visit here to spend much time indoors. The room I stayed in was very clean. Had a refrigerator and nice size television. The bathroom was also roomy. This will certainly be a go-to place.

For us it worked out great, we reserved 5 rooms, they 3 of us on 2 floor and 2 on another but it worked out great. Perfect location with the beach right there, great room size, comfy beds, breakfast bar, shower pressure was nice and the ambiance light in the bathroom was sexy. The lobby is large and spacious with enough room to accommodate many waiting guests and their luggage. Suggestion box please! The hotel used to be an apartment building in1950s, but after renovations from 2008-2012 it is now considered a family hotel. The rooms range from 544-858 square feet with the same bright decor you found in the lobby. Our suite , which is more like an apartment, had plenty of windows for natural lighting and balcony along Collins. Full kitchen has stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, and a large rotating flat screen on the wall that made my hubby smile. They offered two beach towels, beach chair vouchers, an umbrella and an ice chest full of ice per room for your day at the beach. SUPER CONVENIENT! There is no swimming pool or restaurant which I'm sure some people would love, but I didn't miss either at all as I came to hang at the beach. The beach is clean and relatively quiet. There are a few vagrants sleeping out there early in the morning but city workers were driving around asking them to pack up at around 6am. The street on this side of town isn't too loud which is a nice change. There are restaurants and shops nearby ( subway next door) as well as a walgreens within walking distance. The beach is across the street with a great pier for jogging. WARNING: if you don't like cats do not walk along the pier because there are a bagillion (is that a word?) of them just chillin along the path. They didn't bother anyone but I thought you should know. Parking is sparce, however the hotel provides a long list of additional options. We parked at a lot for $8 a day which was about 4-5 blocks away - not a bad walk, but remember you will be carrying/pulling your luggage down the sidewalk. other options are street metered spaces and other lots that are free from 6p-8a but you'll have to set your alarm so you can move your car in time. Overall, we'd stay here again. Not really a hotel I'd bring the kids too but there were a few children around. It is definitely someplace parents can "run away" to when they need an escape and some time alone or for anyone to have fun and do a little relaxing.

Also the doors in the hallway slammed all night long...again, if this doesn't bother you then it's not an issue. Sleep and quiet conditions are important to me. Literally one and a half blocks. It sits right next door to a great breakfast location too! You are also one block away from the South Beach trolley, which is a free bus service looping around both clockwise and counter so getting to Lincoln Rd Mall or even to North Beach (via free transfers) is super easy! The hotel itself is super cute, clean, and the rooms are very comfortable. If you care to cook they have a small kitchenette but we just ate out, of course. The staff is very friendly and the desk is staffed 24x7. The bed was comfortable. Our only criticism would be about the bathroom linens, specifically the washcloths. They were super small, thin to the point of being threadbare! Upgrading these and probably the towels too, to thicker, higher quality would be a cheap upgrade that would elevate the overall impression of this place. We would stay here again so it wasn't enough to chase us away (and it shouldn't chase you away either) it just warranted a mention. Take note they do charge a resort fee per day on top of their rate (at least they did for us as we booked and paid via booking.com). They provide beach towels for that but I'm not sure what else!

The room was nice enough for the price, although the lock was a little tricky to learn at first; however, it was coded entry so we didn't have to remember to carry a key which was nice. I managed to clog the toilet & would've been better suited obtaining a plunger had I known a little more Spanish. The checkout procedure was very simple and required no action other than leaving since there were no keys to return. Parking was easy to find and free along Harding beyond 75th.

This place is popular with the local homeless population & neighborhood drug dealers. They love to hang out on the patio/ terrace in the back of the hotel that faces the alley. They are often up there at all hours of the night & occasionally will sleep up there. Now the local dealers have been seen going in & out freely using the access code. Clearly the Hotel doesn't change the code regularly & people staying there (or employees possibly) are inviting/ allowing these individuals to hang out & use the premises. I wouldn't feel safe having people I care about stay here despite it being a cute boutique hotel.
