Villa Byron Suites consider themselves a vacation apartment; it's a two-story building with a small but luxurious courtyard. The two ladies in the office were very professional & courteous. I arrived around 1:40pm, check-in is 4pm but they let me go to my room anyway. My apartment was upgraded from a studio to a 1 bedroom. FYI it was fully furnished w/ a dinning table & sofa, which was also a futon. Kitchenette, reg size refrigerator, real silverware, glassware & plates etc. They do provide you with towels & wash cloths. Also they have a washer & dryer on site but if it's occupied there is a laundromat a block down the street that the locals use. PROS: 3 blcks from the beach 2 blcks from Ocean Dr(restaurants & bars) Bus stop at the end of the block(free trolly stops by) 5 blcks from Walgreens Free side street parking CONS: No room service but there is a small snack stand in the main office No pool on site All in all I was very satisfied with my experience. If i ever go back to Miami Beach I will be staying there again

Upon arrival, the unit had a strong chemical odor throughout, stained bedding we refused to sleep in, mold on the bathroom window, a corroded sink drain, and corroded door hinges -- completely different from the listing photos. It was already evening with no realistic way to find another place that night, so we stayed one night and relocated the next morning at our own expense. The host later claimed he'd asked us that morning if everything was fine and that we confirmed it was. That conversation never happened -- we reported the problems the same day we found them. We requested a refund for the unused nights and the host refused, despite having said in writing he'd refund us if the unit got rebooked. The public availability calendar for those exact dates went from "1 left" to "sold out" days after we left, which fits exactly that scenario -- while we got nothing back. We also found proof this host pressures guests into leaving only a top rating or no review at all, which explains why some reviews on other platforms look suspiciously similar and clustered together in the same short window, while the independent, honest reviews describe the same mold and disrepair we saw ourselves. Filed complaints with Booking.com, EU consumer protection authorities, and started a chargeback. Read past the star average before booking here -- it doesn't tell the whole story.

The hotel runs out of chairs on the beach by 9am. There's no where close to enough for everyone. So be prepared to get your towel and belongings very sandy. Partial sea views rooms can only see the sea if you hang one foot over your balcony. TVs don't work. And if you need help, guess what... Pros: The rooms are otherwise nice and clean The beach is decent, except for the Portuguese Man o War we had visit and clear the entire beach for several hours. The hotels next door are closed and dilapidated, so that means less people on the beach.
