Previous review retracted. I now believe this company is actually in cahoots with MJ Murphy paving. I have a driveway that was done almost a year ago and it is still soft and leaving tire marks. Kevin said that I was scammed by someone using his letterhead. Kevin said in the interest of trying to clear his companies name that if he was in the area he would try to see if he could do something to help. my wife reached out twice over the course of the summer but Kevin has not responded. Disclaimer, if anyone is looking for a paving job you should probably steer clear of these two companies. If situation changes, I will update my review. read more

Jim from Ocean County Paving and Masonry came to my door on Friday and asked if I would be interested in getting, pavers tear up my driveway and redo my driveway or get it sealed. I asked for prices and I finally agreed for sealing and he would put small stone in the little holes and then seal the driveway. these are pictures of the job he did. Beware~ we called and sent emails asking him to fix what he did and complete what he didn't finish and no response. sorry this won't let me post pictures. Absolutely not! I will never ever recommend this business to anyone!!! Late cut corners they tell stories they don't get the job done right they're never there to supervise their workers who don't do the job right the first time. I had to have a redo my pavers and stretch out the driveway to their cutting corners and going short. This is a fraud case. You try to contact him during the work process very hard to get a hold of comes up to excuses either his truck broke down he's sitting out there for about 6 to 8 hours on the parkway waiting for him or are you just not answering your calls. If you're going to do this business with him I suggest you take off from work and you watch every second of the job they do and hire a private inspector to come by and do a final inspection before you pay him. Also throwing the process he's going to keep asking you for money for supplies. How's it possible that's so cold multimillion Dollar business and they're making millions this over fistful really that he would need to ask you for money for supplies when the job is done should get paid them and I paid him 1/3 in the beginning and then I told my payment third in the middle and then the last third when the job is done and inspected. But he kept needing supplies that come up with you I took advantage of that. So unless you got money to waste and you don't mind being played with and having the construction company cut corners then I wouldn't be doing business with this company at all read more

Hired Kevin to do paver work. They were to fix a few flaws in my patio as well as sand and seal as well to do paversteps....all I can say is read all reviews.. You DONT WANT TO HIRE THEM. Unprofessional is saying it nice.. just as other people have said, Kevin comes and goes. His older son, who is supposed to be supervising, is in the street with another guy messing around. They tried to seal my pavers, and as I watched, He totally got mad at the sprayer, and the sealer went everywhere, totally destroying my new patio pavers. At this point, it is beyond repair. The pavers were not put in properly as well. I now have to pay someone else to finish and fix their work. Nothing about this company is legit. They lie so bad it's unreal.. They also have no clue what their doing. So many people have claimed the same thing...they tell you oh I'll be back to finish this or that..nope they never do...once the job is done and they get their money you will never see them again..and their prices are truly insane..i must say the guys that do all the work are extremely hard workers. .again, DONT LET THEM CHARM THEIR WAY INTO DOING YOUR JOB. 0 stars!!! Before signing any contract with this company and or MJ Murphy asphalt ( they work in "alliance") ask to see proof of license and insurance. Learn from my very expensive mistake. Quite the charmers initially until you see and complain about their substandard work. Then the true picture unfolds... lies, empty promises and disastrous outcomes. They have caused significant damage to my property, including my inground pool. They have refused to provide me with their insurance information. They have abandoned my job because they want balance in full and only in cash before providing the rest of the materials. They show up with different no name trucks with out of state or oudated temporary plates. They solicit and work other jobs nearby while leaving you hanging. And according to the NJ Consumer Affairs website, the advertised license number on their truck is inactive. I may never see a penny of restitution but if I save someone else from going through this or if I stop them somehow I will feel some satisfaction. But I also believe in Karma. read more

Kevin Sharpe is quick to show up when it is time to be paid. But he is slow to follow-up on promises. He promised he would provide a copy of the warranty with the paid receipt for the final bill. He did not do this. He promised after one week he would return to inspect the driveway and take down the tape across it and then it was sufficiently cured to park. Three weeks and counting - despite numerous phone messages and texts - Kevin has not returned to inspect. Don't use this company if you want your job done right! I previously rated this company very highly, well I want to change that review. James knocked on my door, unsolicited by me, looking to get a driveway paving job. In trying to surprise my husband, instead I had him make a shed base, originally wanted 10x12 but for just a little more he would make it 12x12, which I highly agreed to. He stated it would take 2 days but actually got it done in 1. This is all great until my husband realized it wasn't level and when built, the shed doors would not lineup and close we called James. He came over and agreed that, yes, it was not level and he would fix it. After 4 phone calls and 1 text, almost 4 weeks later we received no return calls or text. I finally got ahold of James and he told me he would call me that evening with a day and a time...guess what, no phone call, 4 days later still waiting. We are fixing it ourselves to the tune of $269.45 just for parts, because we need our shed. We were going to have them do the driveway and some work in the back yard but not anymore.
